Re: [ANN] BitcoinGPU (BTCGPU) - forked spinoff, new PoW, adjusting size cap, segwit
by

From what I can tell its actually both a fork and a premine...  Undecided

However the details have since been removed from their site, originally they explained it.

Here is how I understand it. After the fork, everyone who holds BTC private keys gets their 1:1 BitcoinGPU (BTG). They are ALSO doing an ICO where they advance the blockchain manually (not sure how) 16,000 blocks, and keep the block rewards of 12.5 BTG/block = 200,000BTG.

They will be selling the ICO at 1:10 BTC:BTG.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Sounds like huge shit show to me. but you never know.

Just wondering...

Is there any specific reason your servers are located in Romania?

??

What servers are we talking about, exactly?

I'm very curious to know how you've come to that conclusion Smiley
We take security very seriously and there is no way you can find out where our servers are located: DNS is routed through Cloudflare and mail is routed through Google.

I'm very curious how you take security "very seriously" and yet think that since your MX and A DNS records for your root domain go through third party alllllll the other DNS records you have for your domain are automatically hidden from the world, which all point to servers in Romania.

I only ask since I am legit considering investing in the ICO, I like the crazy deflationary system you guys have put together, but I've seen more then my fair share of scams ( not call yours a scam ), and alot of them run servers out of Romania, Bulgaria, and alike to avoid any legal intervention.

Just putting it out there. If you can put my mind at ease, im in..to da moooon.

Is there an online wallet? I don't trust your team or your wallet.

You do know everything is open source, if you cant trust that your just a fool and dont belong in the crypto world.
I actually didn't know that, but also didn't put any thought in to it. I don't have money or time (60 minutes worth of mining to see what the return was about a week or more ago) invested in it, but I do see it as possibly having a use in the future so I wanted some in my possession. I was going to download the Wallet to store the coins rather than leave them on the pool, but after 2-3 minutes of searching I couldn't really find any group of people showing any interest in being a community for it aside from calling it/the devs down.

This coin is still in its infancy, so you wont find much in the way of a large dedicated community like the more established coins launched. Most of the flak we've received is due to the fact we had a shaky launch and lost some credibility from the beginning, but there is a VERY long list of coins with terrible launches that are now some of the most prominent coins in the community.

This coin has potential, as many people have pointed out, and we are working hard to get the coin listed, so you and everyone else who took the time to be involved from the beginning can see some returns.

We're interested in the longevity of this coin and have no ulterior motive, we just want to see it successful, and hopefully in time have the coin entrenched in the taxi/cab industry. We've been expanding our team and efforts and expect great things to come in the near future.

We'd love to see taxi drivers accepting taxicoin, in the future that would be a great use for it. However we feel the ideal use for taxicoin would be in tandem with existing electronic taxi services and apps (and yes, in the far off future when there are driverless taxis).

Getting picked up by apps like Hailo, Uber, etc... would be the ideal position for taxicoin, seeing as those services already require a credit card to use the app, taxicoin would be an amazing fit.

PS. Taxicoin faucet will be up today, with big rewards for the first few days

We're all very committed to getting this coin off the ground, we do indeed have some bounties out, check the first post on this thread (However the site needs to be updated). We have given out bounties for the windows/mac wallets, and just now have officially adopted the logo created by
doobiedoos.

We're sad to see the net hash rate but we all highly believe in the coin and its potential. So we will do everything and more to get the community this coin deserves up and running.

Faucet will be up soon, and we are looking to get listed exchanges/coinwarz/coinmarketcap/etc...

Yes having difficulties with the wallet and block chain.

51% attack wouldn't happen unless it is on exchanges and has traction

plenty of time for things to even out in that manner.

What problems are you having with the blockchain

hi does anyone have valid nodes?
these indicated on the original post are not working... i'm stuck syncing at block 1499 and pool hashfever is hashing blocks > 2000.

regards,

I'm using these, and I'm synced:

addnode=208.68.37.185
addnode=192.241.159.26
addnode=192.241.242.166

at which block are you?
because i delete my blockchain and resynced it but it's stucked at block #1499... hashfever pool is > 2000; doesn't that mean there has been a fork??

Try:
addnode=54.194.250.47

i re-deleted blockchain, tried your node: still stuck @1499:

If your using linux the source has just been updated to include checkpoints, just started up a new node, and everything synced fine

no windows wallet. FAIL

no mac wallet. FAIL

no working pools FAIL

Devs are pre mining. FAIL

3 hours in and nothing.  FAIL

There was no premine. During the problems at the beginning there was a NETWORK hashrate of a couple of khash from people who just left their CPUs, hardly a very effective premine.

Pool is back up and running.

Yes, it is a fail on our side for the lack of wallets, but their on their way

For some reason the pool isnt properly keeping track of the shares submitted. They're in the database, just not represented on the frontend
Everyone will get their deserved coins, don't worry. Currently there is 190K in the pool wallet
