In their exit, we assumed they intended to troll us by sending 20,446 Privkeys for us to sort through rather than a keys.txt file. Despite this attempt, our team impressively secured it all last night. We will be dispersing holdings in $AEM to verified users until February 6th, 2019. All leftover AEM will be burned. We're not defending SU at all.  In fact, we're upset over the whole situation and are working on getting everyone's coins back from SU.  I'll be able to post an update on that very soon.  If you were kicked from our discord, it means you were being belligerent. There are plenty of people on our Discord asking about SU in a respectful manner and not getting kicked.

Keep in mind that, after the swap, we will be shutting down the Ember seed nodes that help wallets to sync.  Cryptopia is delisting Ember.  C-Patex and Nova will keep trading it as long as the network runs and people are trading it, but they could delist it in the future if it continues to be abandoned.  Also, the swap addresses that Ember coins are going to are burn addresses and no one has access to their privkeys. 

If someone wishes to fork Ember and have a go, more power to them. It's open source on github.  Atheneum is an attempt by the Ember investment community to make something valuable from the ashes of Ember.

StakeUnited decided to close their doors and our team had no advanced warning of this.  We will have another announcement soon about this on our social media, but our goal is to get SU Ember coins back to their Ember holders despite this sudden closing.  I don't believe any other coin hosted on SU is doing this for their investors.

Cryptopia has had a lot of issues with putting Ember into maintenance.  We will not be pursuing their exchange for the swapped Atheneum coin.

How will AEM be distributed?

The swap is really just the beginning of the Atheneum Project.  In order for Atheneum to fulfill its use-case as the world’s first ever Decentralized Autonomous Learning Organization (DALO), funds will need to be reinvested into the project.  One of the core values of this project is transparency.  In the spirit of transparency, below is a list of not only how EMB holders will be swapped to AEM but also how the remaining funds will initially be allocated after the swap:

Here is an example to explain the swap math:
John Smith has 1 Billion EMB. If John swapped at today's swap rate of 317,408:1, he would have received 3,150.52 AEM. At the end of swap, the team sends out bonus redistribution. If there is 57% total participation, John's bonus would be:
- If he swapped in Week 1 (100% bonus): 1,621.43 AEM, an equivalent of 209,558:1 swap ratio
- If he swapped in Week 2 (50% bonus): 810.71 AEM, an equivalent of 252,447:1 swap ratio
- No bonus after Week 2

Stake weight is a big factor in determining when you can stake.  There's also a random element.  We have a large FAQ on our discord, and I can paste a few items of interest below.

You will see that 50 mil coins is probably the low end of solo staking in your local wallet to have the best chance in staking before our coin burn later in the year.  If you have less, a staking pool like Stake United is available.  Here is info from a recent announcement of ours about Stake United:

Q: How long does it take to receive a reward from staking?
A: You can see how long it will take your coins by going to our block explorer at https://www.coinexplorer.net/EMB/ and entering your wallet address.  Click "See Unspent Outputs" to see an average days left to stake each of your coin inputs.

Q: Why do stake rewards come early or late?
A: Due to the randomness of getting staking rewards, two people can have the same amount of coins and get rewards at very different times.    For instance, you can have Joe and Mark each staking 100 mil coins.  Joe could get his reward after 1 day and get a reward of about 2m coins.  Mark could get his reward after 7 days and get a reward of about 13 million coins.  They both got the same reward percentage of 720% per year for their staking periods.  Because of this, it is very difficult to be able to tell you that you will get a reward after x days.  Think of it like rolling a 100 sided die and needing to get lower than a 5.  Then after waiting 30 minutes, you're allowed to get lower than 6.  Then after 1 hour, you can try to get lower than 7.  Every time you try, you have a better shot at winning.  That's simulating your coin age getting older.  Eventually you will win, given enough time.
