I've read lots of Farsi articles on Bitcoins related subjects and there are a lot of mistakes and false facts, more than you'd think, circling around in Iranian community, such as some conspiracy theories regarding Bitcoin (lol?)

So just like every other country in the world then Smiley

Re: Best way to explain bitcoin isnt "fake"?
by

on 17/04/2014, 05:55:33 UTC
Only 3% of the US dollar is in tangible form (it's claimed) - so 97% of this currency is "fake" (i.e. just 0' and 1's in banking computers)

Also, ask them if they think software is fake, since it's an intangible asset.

If they says no, ask why not and go from there ...

There are 21 million BTC  or  21 billion mBTC  or  21 trillion µBTC.

Enough to go around.

Re: Nobel Prize in Economics

Yeah, and let's not forget a certain Adolf Hitler was nominated for the peace prize as well. The peace prize has never had any credibility IMO.

They have no control over who is nominated, so that shouldn't be used to tarnish their image.

Having said that, their choice of 'winners' in recent years has made the Nobel Peace Price a joke.

The Nobel Committee should return to it's roots of just awarding prizes for science (and Economics is hardly a science).

What's going on with cryptorush? I kept volt coins in there and now is not available anymore? Have they lost the coins or is it just temporal?

Exposed as a scam exchange after a "hack" that lost $100k of coins & then they went insolvent

To uneducated eyes, who don't know what a Ponzi scheme actually is, yes that's what it might look like.

But it's not.

Somebody should start a Cryptorush Coin so that we can get our money back!

You've just given the Cryptorush mob an idea for their next scam Wink

I am going to start the new Ripple based Coin: CryptoRush Coin.
Who is in?  Roll Eyes

Sure, as long as there's a 75% premine for ... um ... development, bounties, give-aways, etc.

I'll control the premine wallet (I can be trusted).

Ooo..  yes!  there'll be an IPO as well!

We can even setup a company (registered to a PO Box in Guatemala)

maybe I understand better how bitcoin works then you think. After all, I already completed University.

So your argument is basically "Trust me - I'm a college graduate" ?

That might have worked in 1965, but these days a college graduate is a dime a dozen and carries no weight as an appeal to authority.

Re: 15th of April
by

on 03/04/2014, 14:11:35 UTC
April 14th:  Final price dip  (sell-offs by the remaining few Chinese who'd held out)
April 15th-17th:  Sideways movement (people just watching the market cautiously)
April 18th:  Slow rise (it's safe to re-enter)

May: Back to $600
June: $700
July: $850
Aug: $1000
Sep: $1500
Oct: $2500
Nov: $1000 (after crash)
Dec: $1500

then slow decline back to $1000.

But next July it'll bubble to $5000, before settling back to $2500.

... and so on.

Of course I could be completely wrong Smiley

I did felt uncomfortable knowing that Bitcoin enabled criminals

If that's the case, then I hope you didn't cash them out to fiat, because that's used for more than 99% of criminal activities.

That's because those who actually understand what bitcoin is, how it works, the technological as well as the financial side, the implications for society on the longer term and maybe even an understanding of the exponential function and network effects, are elite. Most people simply do not have the mental capacity to understand all of that at once. So when someone like the op comes along, who only takes a months long look at things and fails to take into account even the past years price history, there is a reaction.

CryptoRush was always the go-to exchange for hosting premined scam-coins (e.g. Pandacoin, 10-5, etc.).

Where will the scammers go to now?

This is like suffering through the ups and downs of four years of college, then dropping out the day before the final exam.
