Re: [2015-11-22] Bitcoin - It's A Safe Bet

He says that BTC will not go to zero but it could go to 5 USD  Wink

Bitcoin is a binary bet. If it does not go to $10k in 10 years, it will go to 0. It will be replaced by another more useful coin.

Re: [2015-11-23] ECOM21 2015: Baltic States To Explore Bitcoin and Blockchain ...

These Baltic states are small countries with some exceptions. They do not have big say in banking system. If they can spearhead the bitcoin technology, they can be make some standards in bitcoin related business.

I thought Black Friday is normal for in store shopping? If that is the case, the there is little impact. Bitcoin is good for on line shopping.

I think there are around 200,000 ULTRA HIGH NET WORTH INDIVIDUALS (over 30 million USD net worth) in the world... the dream number I wish I could reach in BTC was 1/200,000 of total supply.

STEEP! Even at today's prices! Sad

The total market cap of all fiat currencies (~$60trn) split between 200k people is $300m each, not $30m. If bitcoin takes over all existing currencies you therefore only need one two-millionth of the supply in order to have $30m worth, which is only 10.5 coins.

So we should aim for the 10.5 coins. That is not a too hard target for most people. If we can save $100 a months, that is 30 months saving.

Re: Bitcoin at ATH. Reached 2200 USD on Gemini !!!
by

You all know what comes after ATH?

2 or more years of bear market.

It depends on the speed of reaching the ATH. If it takes a year to reach the ATH and the ATH is just 50% more than the previous peak, then the bear market is just 6 months.

There is  no collateral no loan rule for a reason.
This is about having a proper culture and manners, it is not about the amount anymore (10c or whatever)

That is right. If you want to borrow, you have to offer collateral. No matter how small the deal is. This is the rule should be followed by the borrower and lender.

Re: Brazilian exchanges hit all-time volume high in October
by

Well, if the interest is growing and exchanges are at ath volume, it wouldn't surprise me if the coverage also spreads to some more merchants and services there,
but however, i doubt there will be bitcoin logos related to Olympics.
In regards to op, maybe it isn't a local thing after all, because all exchanges are showing insane rise in volume, which is spreading from china to other exchanges..

The volume rises in exchanges outside China is very large. It indicates a higher general interest in bitcoin. The blockchian transaction also rose recently.

Re: Another Ransom paid using Bitcoin
by

on 17/11/2015, 03:05:00 UTC
I think their biggest mistake was to pay the ransom to someone who was abusing your servers by DDoSing them. I'm sure there would be cyber crime agencies that could have helped them track them down. Also, a lot of ddos protection services available online who could have helped them mitigate the attack.

how did they know that they are paying the right group who attacked them and how did they know that the BTC address is for the attackers

Maybe the address was given to them by the attackers. In the file locking attack, the victim will be given a bitcoin address straight away.

The government is smarter these days. I'm pretty sure they could figure what to do for bitcoin. And just probably, they may consider using bitcoin too. ITs always good to listen to what they say, like if you can't beat them, join them.  Grin

When bitcoin is used widely, the market capitalization is larger, say 1 trillion dollars, the price will be more stable than now. The governments will treat it as currency, and tax accordingly.

It is very risky for a government to use bitcoin, because the price of bitcoin is changing and the losses can be in millions or trillions of dollars, so it can be banned in some countries.

The government do not have to use the bitcoin. As long long as it allows its citizen to use bitcoin, we are happy.

I do not understand why somebody will scam for a very small amount of money. It is more profitable to join a signature campaign. You get paid for the posts is more honest.

not at all.nowadays some online shopping sites already accepted bitcoin as payment .after 2-3 years

bitcoin will be used all over the world even on mars.

There are more and more retailers accepting bitcoin. In 5 -10 years, bitcoin will become more widely used in the business. The value will increase.

The confidence with which he says it is amazing. If someone was on the fence about BTC and listened to this, it would be very convincing.

He talked down about BTC quite authoratively. He will be proved wrong in a few years time after bitcoin is adopted widely and the price increases.

Re: where can i buy a Bitcoin miner
by
justbitcoins
on 15/11/2015, 01:42:33 UTC
My friend supposedly bought an antminer s5 for $800 on amazon. Amazon is by far the best, with a whole range of used, factory new and second hand miners. Id recommend cutting from there.

It has amazing buyer protection, but you'll pay a hefty markup for that protection.

I sell on Amazon myself and they basically force you to cover any expenses Amazon incurs including charge backs, and of course if the unit gets damaged during shipment the customer is not obligated to return the item... Yeah that's not a joke.  Read the terms of service.

It is good to buy at Amazon or Ebay, but it is not good for seller. Sellers can always charge more to compensate for the hash terms and conditions.

Buying bitcoins? no. Im not using my fiat to buy bitcoin. Why use fiat if theres a way to earn btc for free. Maybe earning btc just in case of emergency, ill convert it into fiat and use it.

What is your way to earn bitcoin for free? Do you earn from faucets? But that amount is too small. You can earn some bitcoin by attending signature campaign.
