Hard fork successful
Ubiq successfully hard forked last week and as a recap, we activated 3 Ethereum hard forks (Byzantium, Constantinople & St. Petersburg) in one shot as well as amended a fix for uncle reward calculations. All these changes were consensus level (hence the reason for a hard fork) upgrades. No issues arose and the hard fork was smooth so thank you also to the mining pools and community for being prepared and supportive. We had some great chats in Discord Voice channels leading up to the hard fork.
The next major hard fork development will implement the Ethereum Istanbul EIPs (this was hard forked in Ethereum block 9069000 on December 8, 2019) and is anticipated to be completed mid-2020.
Prior to activating the Instanbul EIP's we will be upgrading the Gubiq codebase to be in line with the latest Geth 1.9 branch. Currently Gubiq 3.0.1 runs on the Geth 1.8 branch.
Dusk
@xocel has started working on Dusk which will be a new node and wallet UI to replace Fusion. This is all brand new code but will tie in well with home Raspberry Pi nodes. Below is a screen shot.
Tornado Cash
The latest Ubiq hard fork has allowed us to start experimenting and implementing some projects on our network. One of them is Tornado Cash which enables a Zero Knowledge privacy solution for Ubiq. When used properly and with multiple user participation, it allows for a mixed anonymity set and unlink-ability similar to Zcash shielded transactions.
I will look to make some modifications to the upstream project in our own repository to tailor it for Ubiq. This will probably start out as CLI usage before having an integrated web interface.

@ivan_nakamoto We have no premine, its a dev fee that takes 4 years to be delivered. Grimble is either too incompetent to understand the difference, or being deliberately misleading about what it means to pre-mine a coin. Hint: they control 99.99% of their coins supply today.

If you still have issues, then use Pyrus. No issues there.
From what country has Ubiq originated? How is it affected with all these ICO-bans all over?
Ubiq wasn't an ICO so any ICO regulations do not apply to Ubiq.

Hi! I try to be an open minded Person. Thats why i started mining 5 weeks ago because i´m interested in it.So you -and everyone else- can call me newbie but i know the ethereum hype (i think it was may 17´) is gone. To be honest, i think it was over being efficient when i started but, it was the reason i started thinking about mining from the technical aspect.
And exactly this was the reason why i started mining ubiq from the very first second on instead of ethereum. And for sure i will mine until i got my ubiqs count togehter.
After this... at the very end i ask you what alternative you would suggest mining (with roundabout actual 0.5gh/s @ amd polaris Cards with ~0,2/kw/h). I think lots of people would like to hear this.
What i know right now (dont know if this is correct) that dagger hashimoto and ethash are the most suitable algos for my two rigs.
The Thing is... i fire up google and just get "ubiq, one of the underrated currenciews..." so near everyone else seems to be really positive, regardless the Technology.

What is current Ubiq DAG file size and how it what are the predictions about the increase of it?
DAG size increases every 30k blocks (an epoch) as defined by the Ethash protocol. Since Ubiq has an 88 second block time, the DAG size increases much slower compared to ETH or ETC.
Here is a chart from OP.
So DAG size is approx 1.15 GB or so at this stage of the network.
Having a hardtime maintaining node on windows7. Peers not updating properly, meaning delayed block updates. Sometimes 3 blocks already passed before getting new block even on latest release. Once on top then delayed propagation again.

Try opening port on your router:

As long as he or she stays inside crypto it's alright to moonlight as bittrex support representative so nobody should care about. However working outside crypto is not what I would do if I could just go full time crypto and had to choose between these two options. Anyway there might be details that only he or she could further reveal.
