The price of altcoins depends on BTC price. BTC and ETH price volatility is a result of many different aspects, but the main one is speculation from big players. So, it is up to them decide where we are heading and when starts real market recovery.
I think, we haven't seen the bottom yet. And all that we have seen before is only prelude. But any case, the market is still young and we shouldn't expect any other behavior. Patience is a key.

If we judge by whining in almost all telegram channels, they completely consist of women, children, idiots and few normal and silence people 
. Also, unpredictability of market give us a hint of its feminine nature. So, the women now are an integral part of the crypto community.
And to the great regret of many guys, they now know how to spend BTC...So, you can't say "I don't have money, they all in crypto"

Ethereum would gain more traction if it releases a GUI wallet. That way it would be a whole lot easier to send and receive Ether without any technical knowledge at all (for noobs). People would then become interested in it and adopt ETH for use in decentralized apps. A good idea would be to make a decentralized bank based on Ethereum.
I agree, how can widespread adoption be expected without a GUI wallet? Most people only have experience with GUI programs and would not bother trying to use a command line wallet.

I must say, I like it that you can premix your coins and then use that "dark balance" for sending anonymous transactions
Pretty impressed by the GUI as well.
My only remark (also related to the thing below) is that it took nearly 3 hours to mix 2 DASH... That seems a bit slow, but hopefully if we get more masternodes online, that won't be an issue anymore. But I'm willing to wait a bit. Privacy has a price, in this case it's waiting time.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't mixing slow sometimes because of a lack of people mixing, not the number of masternodes?

If is says "null" you are not connected and the mined coins are worthless.
