Re: TETHER IMPORTANT MUST READ
by
kalodu
on 29/01/2018, 18:09:46 UTC
There is still no proof though that tether really is a scam, but assuming it won't be exposed until there is a run on the bank ie bitfinex.

There is a possibility that it is a scam however they earn more from their legit exchange business in the long run than they ever could with tether so if they are scamming then they aren't being very smart.

For reference they have about $1 billion of daily trading volume and if we assume an average fee on both buy and sell of 0.25% means they gain about $2.5 million a day, or around $900 million a year. A $2-3 billion windfall would certainly be nice for them but they will make that kind of money easily in the next few years anyway.

Re: BTC gone down today
by

on 20/12/2017, 19:41:43 UTC
Seems on the markets at present time BTC has come down. your thoughts on this and why you think it happened?

Do you think it will go back up? if BTC goes down way lower would it be wise to buy more into it

The market needed this correction so it can slowly recover before the next pump in about a week. This seems to be the normal trend right now and we still have a long way to go before the bubble collapses I think.

Re: Segwit2X hard fork again?
by
kalodu
on 20/12/2017, 19:14:03 UTC
Yes it is true unfortunately. The fork will happen on either Dec 28 or 29 I believe which doesn't give much time to make much moves. Just hodl and collect Smiley
Why is it unfortunate? I think its a fork with some great potential aiming at reducing the scaling problems laid down by the bitcoin and its hefty transaction fees. It could be a good way out until we come up with the lightning network.

I agree fully, segwit on its own didn't really help a lot and we really need at least a 2mb block until other scaling solutions can be developed. I'm not a proponent of bigger blocks but it is necessary to keep bitcoin alive until alternative solutions such as lightning network come online.

Re: When the transaction fee problem will be solved?
by
kalodu
on 20/12/2017, 19:11:42 UTC
The transaction fee in my blockchain wallet is $30 anyone know when it will become normal?

Either when they introduce 2 mb blocks or when other solutions like lightning network come live, though these solutions as I understand is still a long long way off. I think 2 mb blocks is the only option in the short and medium term to fix this as segwit on its own didn't change much.

Re: How Bitcoin is better than other coins?
by
kalodu
on 20/12/2017, 18:50:52 UTC
It has slow transactions and the fees are high, and it is the cryptocurrency frontier.

What do you think will realistically will take Bitcoins nr1 spot in the future? Bitcoin Cash maybe?  Huh

It's not better than other coins, it is just the first coin. Bitcoin Cash is also not better than other coins it is just a slight alteration on bitcoin itself, just like litecoin is. Ethereum is the best contender at the moment I think, but there are loads of interesting projects that could become a hit too.

Re: Best tip on saving money
by
kalodu
on 20/12/2017, 18:49:33 UTC
spend the most important expenses first. For example, if you make $2000/mo

1) spend $500 on savings, then $500 on rent, then groceries/transportation. if you end up with $300 you can save or waste it it does not matter. Because you saved $500 this month anyway Grin

You need to prioritize savings instead of focusing on luxuries like better food, eating out, going to the movies and others. If you have the mindset that your savings is just as important as your rent then you always find a way.

Enjin and Request Network are the top 2. Enjin will bring cryptokitty like ownership to items in minecraft and other games, a potentially huge market. Request Network will compete with Paypal, a $90 billion company so the potential is also limitless.

Re: Investing is the new gambling! Double, Tripple, Quadruple...why still gamble?
by

Trading or investing in a way is a gamble but playing in  casinos gives you a different feeling, it's fun!

Investing is boring as you will just wait for the prices to go up, i invest because of the passive income, I gamble because it is thrilling and fun.

More like a gamble gives you an instant gratification while an investment can take days, weeks or even years to bear fruit.

Even sports betting gives you a result very quickly.

Re: What to do if Bitcoin Price Crashes
by
kalodu
on 20/12/2017, 18:12:50 UTC
The more it crashes the more I buy because I think most of us know by now that in the long run it will always go up. A crash is just an opportunity to get more cheap coins.

Re: BITCOIN or ETHEREUM?
by

So I'm looking to invest and hodl altcoins and a lot of people seem to have faith in ETH even though the network had had problems recently.

Anyone think it still has good potential to rise a lot?

It definitely does and there are already scaling solutions on the horizon. Also remember the viable of ethereum is not just based on using it as a currency but also the fact that hundreds of different tokens use the network supporting demand for ETH.

Re: When you first know about bitcoin what was the price?
by

Like many others I first got interested when bitcoin had a 2 digit price, I invested and sold for what seemed like a big profit at the time but little did I know it would blow up. I sold before the mtgox crash and felt lucky that I did after seeing bitcoin crash so hard. Never looked back until early this year, I guess I've been lucky at picking the right times.

Re: 95% of Cryptocurrencies will Not Survive in 2018
by
kalodu
on 06/12/2017, 18:15:32 UTC
The Blockchain ecosystem suffers explosive growth. According to data from Coinmarketcap just for 11 months in 2017 cryptocurrencies market capitalization grew by 1200%. Investors and hedge funds are fixing unbelievable profits, which they can get from crypto assets, and trying to divert their assets into this niche. Investors are waiting for startups, which will repeat the success of projects like Ethereum (+272397% since ICO) or IOTA (+922448% since ICO).

However, the majority of projects will fail — some startups are created just to gather funds and disappear, some would not handle the competition, but most are just ideas that look good on paper, but in reality, are useless for the market.
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum said:

“There are some good ideas, there are a lot of very bad ideas, and there are a lot of very, very bad ideas, and quite a few scams as well”

As a result, over 95% of successful ICOs and cryptocurrency projects will fail and their investors will lose money. The other 5% of projects will become the new Apple, Google or Alibaba in the cryptoindustry. As these 5% will be the new center of influence, their token demand will create tremendous growth in their valuation brining hundreds of thousands percent of returns on investments made on early stages.

I agree completely with what Vitalik said. The worst part is that so many people are going to get burned from these ICOs. I don't however see any projects yet that should have valuations like Apple, Google or Alibaba. So far each token even of good projects is only good for a certain niche, there aren't really any tokens that deserve valuations in the tens of billions, let alone hundreds.

Re: IOTA Fact or Fraud?
by
kalodu
on 06/12/2017, 18:04:34 UTC
IOTO is going to rise in the long run becasause of powerful corporate alliances and bright future expectations for IOT projects.
İt should not be considered as short term trade.

When its first successfull application is done, its price would jump up.

It's already valued too high based on expectations alone. This is clearly a speculative bubble and the prices will retreat in the coming weeks. When they do actually deliver a product that is a different case but as of right now it's a useless project with a huge marketcap.

Re: Bitcoin bubble
by
kalodu
on 06/12/2017, 17:35:55 UTC
Bitcoin probably is in a bubble and will see a big crash eventually, could keep growing until $20k-$30k before it happens though. It doesn't matter however if it's in a bubble or if its about to crash as history has shown it will go up in the long run either way, the safe bet is to buy and hold. If you wish to cash out some gains now that is also good for financial security but if you don't need that money its usually a safe bet to just hold on to your coins and come back to them in several years time.

Re: Dogecoin will FAIL
by
kalodu
on 06/12/2017, 17:20:01 UTC
I don't know why there is so much hate about Dogecoin. It is a coin like other coins and it is still exchangeable and not dead. People still accept and trade it. I know that there is no dev and no extraordinary tech behind it. But it is still on Exchanges and it is still at 22 satochis now. When Bitcoin gets stronger, Dogecoin also gets stronger as 1 satochi gets more value.

People don't hate it as much as they see it's useless. Yes you can trade it for decent prices on exchanges now but in a year or 2 without anything new it will die off like so many alts before.

by

we are waiting 15000$ above by ending of the this 2017,

looks like it will happen in under a week at the rate its climbing, maybe even $20000 will happen by the end of the year. The more important question is if the rise can be sustained well into 2018.

You can probably get that much from faucets, even exchanges usually have minimums more like in the 0.01 or 0.001 bitcoin range. In any case you do not need to buy whole amounts of bitcoin.

Not late but in middle of party:)

A bit late but not too late rather. People have been asking this question since bitcoin or ethereum first hit $1. The real question should be where one thinks bitcoin and alts will peak rather than whether they are too late.

Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin?
by

on 05/12/2017, 17:26:41 UTC
Bitcoin is lucrative but its success comes and goes whereas a fixed job gives you security. I would recommend relying on bitcoin as a side job, or at best scaling back your working hours rather than quitting completely.
