Re: Bitcoin transaction unconfirmed for over 8 months!

Here is the blockchain link, although I doubt it will be of much help because it doesn't seem to recognize the transaction, at least right now:

Re: Bitcoin transaction unconfirmed for over 8 months!

Thanks for the help on this so far. The address was not wrong because the transaction was received by Coinbase ... but 8 months late! And unfortunately it was never on blockchain.info somehow. The transaction didn't seem to exist except there is no way Coinbase would receive it (that is where the screenshot came from) unless it was *somewhere* in the blockchain. My fear is that one of the inputs somehow got corrupted. I do not know nearly enough about how bitcoin works on a technical level but why can the other inputs progress properly even if one fails? What are the possible reasons for the input not to confirm?

I was able to find my transaction on this random website that I guess is like blockchain.info. It says "unable to find all tx inputs"
does this provide you guys with more info that can help? Here is the link (I was only able to access a cached version of the site):
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:n7Ph0cuxAacJ:https://cryptomsgr.com/ja/rejected+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

I just did a CTRL+F to find my transaction: 6994f6c7bed8fcffb245e1ed094c4b9f6cdd119ba595065c8314cb95b49ed668

Sorry I forgot that! I just edited the post to include a screenshot of the transaction data on Coinbase. The transaction timed out but it should be back soon. As the image shows, there is one input that is unconfirmed and I expect that is the issue.

Bitcoin transaction unconfirmed for over 8 months!
by

I really hope someone can help me with this. I made a withdrawal from Vircurex about 8 months ago to my Coinbase account. The transaction was wonky from the beginning as when I tried to view it on blockchain.info it didn't exist. I tried contacting Vircurex and they did not respond so I thought all hope was lost. Now, over 8 months later, the transaction is BACK! On Coinbase I have the transaction but it has 0 confirmations. The inputs are all confirmed as of March 25, except for one of them that remains unconfirmed and that is the one, I assume, is holding the entire transaction up.

How can I do something about this! I was reading through the forum and found out about https://www.f2pool.com/pushtx but I am not sure where to get the Raw Transaction or what it looks like, or for that matter if that is the right approach!

Please help, I am willing to pay someone some bitcoin if the transaction goes through.

Thanks!

EDIT: The transaction has disappeared for the second time now, so I assume that it will be back in the next few days when the transaction is attempted again. That would make it the third time the transaction has come and gone. I have attached a screenshot of the relevant information including transaction number.

Transaction number: 6994f6c7bed8fcffb245e1ed094c4b9f6cdd119ba595065c8314cb95b49ed668

Re: Overstock.com's News on Accepting Bitcoin, Underwhelming Price Boost.

As the title says, seems like people were expecting some lunar performance, but got some down-to-earth performance.

Do you think that Overstock.com's acceptance was a significant thing for the price of bitcoin? If yes, let us know.

The US Government is going to sell the FBI's stash of Silk Road's bitcoins this week so expect the price of bitcoin to drop to $5.00 per BTC

Is this true? Link?

This might be a stupid question but...is there a way to tell how much NXT there is running among the online nodes and how much NXT in transaction fees is actually circulating? I am trying to figure out how much my NXT will forge for me and although I don't have millions of it I was looking forward to SOME kind of return. I have been funded for a little over an hour I would say and I know I need to wait longer but I would like to at least get an idea to I know what kind of return to expect.

Thanks to anyone who can help edumacate me!

The network is currently generating some 700ish blocks per day, out of 1440 which it would, if all accounts forged. So the forging amount should be somewhere in the range of 50%, i.e. 500M NXT.
Meaning, approx., with 1M you would generate every 500th block, so a little more than 1 per day on average.

[edit]
New accounts can start forging 1440 blocks after the first transaction to that account.
About a third of the blocks have fees, and the fees are usually single-digit.

So when you generate a block do you take ALL of the transaction fees? And when you say single digit, do you mean that, according to the above scenario, the person with 1M NXT will forge less than 10 NXT in transaction fees daily IFF he hits a block with transaction fees at all? That sounds...pretty brutal.

I know that bitcoin has been growing a lot but mine loaded about 20-25% of the blocks with my bootstrap.dat and then stopped to switch to "synchronizing with network." Soonafter my bootstrap file was renamed to .old so I figured it was done...that bootstrap is about a half a year old, has 75% of the bitcoin trading really been in the last 6 months???

Try searching google for bitcoin bootstrap.dat

https://www.google.com/search?q=bitcoin+bootstrap.dat&oq=bitcoin+bootstrap

That should help you get the blockchain faster.

Thank you! That's downloading at over 2.5MBps so it shouldn't be more than a few hours. That file is from august though so I will probably still have some catching up to do afterwards =/

But seriously...thank you haha exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

I would but the price differences are substantial! I guess its a premium for fast delivery and all that but last time I looked it was like a $100-$200 difference in price.

Hey everyone...

So this has definitely come up a few times but my case seem a bit different. I have left BitCoin-qt 0.8.6 (Mac OSX Mavericks) running for a few days now on a 15-20Mbps connection and I am only at 20% synch. Is there something wrong or something I can do to speed this up?

Thanks!

@Turm1n - if you don't mind me asking, what did you change for it to work? Was it a change in the address format or something (like writing ST instead of Street)?

I am very sure that I am answering the questions correctly, I think it moreso has to do with the address I provided since the questions come up with any address I use as long as my name and last 4 social are there.

Verification troubles on CoinBase.com?

Hey guys...first post here before I can play with the big boys.

I recently bought my first few bitcoins from coinbase (locked in an 830 price for 4 coins woo) and have yet to receive them but I have been working toward instant purchase abilities. I don't mind sacrificing some anonymity (actually...a LOT of it) in order to avoid this 4-5 days wait nonsense. The problem is that I recently moved (once a few months ago, and once a few months before that) and no matter which address I use I keep getting rejected! I read that it could be simply because I have not been on one spot for long enough, but this blows since it really seems to be the easiest way. Is anyone else having verification problems?
