Thanks much! So it seems with a easy enough solution (probably not cheap) for the power supply, you can just continue to use the mining software via the USB port. Nice feature.

Can you give more details on how this unit is powered? I've read in few places that it is supposed to be more "consumer friendly", but I still see the PSU connectors there. There's a USB port for something... would love to just power this without using a PSU, but not really seeing anything regarding that.

No divs or movement on the mining/div wallets. I am guessing they are skipping the divs this week? (instead of a tiny amount, better to skip and have a bigger div payment next week). Though it would be unusual for Asicminer to skip the div payment (would be first time ever)

A cube announcement (1BTC each) would probably offset the lack of divs

This is more like shovel covers to keep them warm in Winter and cool in Summer :-)

Also, note that the blades went down in price (from the resellers here) to 0.80 BTC. It was noted by both SSB and Canary that they are selling without any markup at this point (maybe I misread this, but was in the USB sticks context?) Anyways, that give us 2.4 BTC for the 3 blades that are supposedly powering the CUBE. I'd imagine AM selling its "next gen" or even a newer device for considerably less given both BTC/USD rise and the ever-increasing difficulty. And top of that the various other ASIC devices in the marking currently and planned for dec/jan/feb.

I am hoping for a close to 1.5 BTC price ... Like everything else in the market, no point in figuring out the ROI, but there'll be 1000s of these sold anyways ;-)

Also, this is their first pricing. Like the USB sticks and blades, it will go down...so I believe they have room to change the prices in the future.

if anyone has some brains, realize that he is scamming you for old AM hardware that everyone selling is left with small quantity. Am has discontinued this hardware and is planning on selling next Gen soon. If you want to see some ROI then throw your coins in the drain instead of buying from "bliss". At least yo can put your hand in andgrt some out of the drain :-)

Obviously, the mining is going to be a small part from now on. I am hoping the HW sales (though price is down, folks are still ordering based on ebay and GB/reseller threads here) will add a good amount like last few times. End of November (if the Cube rumors are true) should start to see somewhat increased divs.

arrrgh... this is crazy (Bitfunder). Though I am a US citizen, the news is still sad.

I really hope AM is reading these news and is hurrying up deploying the blockchain based exchange. It was supposed to be out soon (post-Alpha phase?). We really need something like that, given that only Havelock remains and that is pretty fragile in itself. There is also the whole process of waiting 5-7 days or even more to transfer shares back and forth between the exchange and direct address. With a blockchain based exchange, this won't be needed and your shares are pretty much safe as your bitcoins on the blockchain.
