Re: [ANN] The FREE Coin, the first cryptocurrency for global cryptocurrency usage
by
kel-alt
on 05/12/2018, 17:38:58 UTC
High RIsk - High Reward -
@nutidah Dec 5 - Crypto is a high risk high reward asset and FREE is another example. I have had a number peter out and be de-listed (value zero) and a couple moon. Due to bad combo of idealism and greed I did not cash out enough at coin moon peaks or market moon peak. That being said I am well satisfied with my purchases - best biggest money I have made with anything in my life, despite hindsight timing regrets.
Dec 2 CMC showed FREE MC at 88 million! This is nonsense. The way MC is calculated is price X coins and is obviously not going to be correct for start up coins on small exchanges - today FREE MC is 1.6 million! With volume 1 to 10k - this cannot possibly have happened. I actually doubt 1.6 million USD has been spent into FREE, but I could be wrong. This price X number of coins valuation is not entirely trustworthy for any coin. Over time though anything can happen with these cryptos, you never know. No one could have predicted ETH from $2 to $1400 or Verge 140,000% X (see Motley Fool article, I don't remember it exactly). Anyway, I do not see any harm in throwing $100 bucks at this coin, win some lose some. Obviously you cannot invest in only one coin. FREE can be a part of a larger portfolio and very well serve both the idealism of crytpos changing the world and increasing in worth due to use case, or hyped speculation. I think it was Buffet that said something like the market is a place that rewards the patient. If FREE goes up sell some off and take some profit. Use FREE if payment options happen. The FREE coin giveaway shows the creators idealism and does not deserve so much negativity IMO. As long as people don't bet the farm on this coin, I see no harm. If it goes to zero, oh well, so what, like that has never happened before? Good luck to FREE and all cryptos!

Re: [ANN][NYC] NEW YORK COIN at 2017 MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE IN NYC!
by
kel-alt
on 02/11/2018, 23:23:03 UTC
The same clowns (same screennames) show up before the mega-runs trying to scam cheapie NYC from scared newbie hands and stack those sell walls low and deep. And then they come back and scream! with disbelief as the market gobbles them all in a day.

NYC HODL'ers: hold tight, fun times are quickly approaching!

How in the hell are we supposed to hold??? Most of us had to sell our Dang coins because of Yobit!!!! Now we cant even buy them back even if we wanted to!! All of the exchanges are down!! People have a right to voice there frustrations!!! The fork was supposed to make the coin better not worse. What is the use of supporting a coin / project you cant even have!!!

Right - When a coin goes up 500% it will usually drop, so selling to buy back more is good strategy if you
believe in the coin. But I have most coins in Coinomi and NYC is not tradeable there, and sending to YoBit
under these conditions is very risky. I could not donate from Coinomi wallet just now, so even updated
wallets are not functional due to network congestion, I guess. NYC was 1/165th of all time high value
at .000006 (Oct 22), now .000995 /.000062 = 1/16th - up 10x, or 1000% since Oct 22....like the end of
year boom. After 10 months of all coins going down, this is a great change and return to old times. Yay!
NYC is a ultra low cap coin with only 5k trading volume lately, at 10k today good luck selling even 1k worth!
I am holding and hoping for a bright future for NYC - at least a return to all time high!

Re: [ANN] LINDA-PoW/PoS-99% APR- MASTERNODE-MULTI-WALLET ( NEW THREAD)
by
kel-alt
on 23/10/2018, 20:01:26 UTC
Well, Linda staking and masternode application is very good but for me it is expansive to use with monthly payments. Hope they can offer better pricing in the future.

Running a masternode or staking costs nothing if you're using the Linda (Qt) wallet (except for the cost of owning and running a computer 24/7 of course, if it's not an existing computer).

Do you mean the $10/month fee for using My Staking Wallet? Using MSW is optional and it was introduced as a way of simplifying staking, making it possible to do so without having to configure or run a computer 24/7. Of course that means you must instead rent a virtual server, hence the small fee. MSW is better suited to running a masternode, or staking larger amounts, where your earnings will far exceed the monthly fee.

kel-alt Oct 23 - I have been using My Staking Wallet since Aug 22 with no earning at all showing up. I am about to just withdraw and stop paying the server fee. According to someones comment here I have well over break even amount of coins.  Any ideas as to why this might happen? I got the email regarding the wallet restart and I think it has been about a month since then. Thanks, k

Nov 5 - Still no staking earnings...what is up?
@ VanAllen - Discord does not work for me, it used to but now I can never log on and recovery process does not work.
I guess I will be getting coins out late Nov if nothing is showing by then and writing off $30 to the high risk high reward crypto experience. Thanks for your comments. k

Nov 25 - still no earnings - I am going to attempt to remove coins and close VPN and stop payments tomorrow. k

Hi

Can you guys please tell me, what wallet for windows is fully functional for ZClassic now ? I'll gonna mine some more Smiley

Thanks

Zclassic Electrum Z
Hi - My 1.0.4 Electrum ZCL does not connect. I downloaded 1.0.5 zip, extracted, but cannot find .exe file
or remember how I got the earlier one to run. I assume if I get the 1.0.5 to work it will connect and I can
get my BTCP. I have lost about 5k to this coin and have some small hope for BTCP and would like to claim
them. Is it safe to send ZCL to ANON wallet? BTCP did not require a special wallet and I am
fearful to send coins to ANON wallet! Thanks.

http://ftp://ftp.chiark.greenend.org.uk/users/sgtatham/putty-latest/w64/putty-64bit-0.70-installer.msi

I do not have MN set up yet due to long process and reports like yours like you get to a step and it
doesn't work - here we go again - I click the above 'putty' link using Brave Browser and it says
' DNS address cannot be found'. I thought I was finally ready to tackle $PAC MN, but maybe I
am not! The fact that 4400+ nodes are running shows it can be done. Some very smart and
patient people here! Maybe it is Brave, it somehow lost Reddit for me, 'Service unavailable', yesterday.
I tried Brave a couple months ago and it just crapped out completely. This newer version is a little better I guess.
I'll try the link with FireFox.
- got the same message using FF - was lead to this url -
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/
which has 'PuTTy' in menu - going to try it now - got this url for Win 64
https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html
Looks like it download - trying install now. The install was 'interrupted' but went through on second try.
ReadMe says it works on 'command line' - I do know what this is and used it with Ubunto
a couple years ago but gave up Ubunto when I was instructed to download packages, did that, and then
told I needed to download the package, or that I already had the package, with the result being no progress.
I now have PuTTy, one of maybe 20 MN steps! But will I be able to use it?

All fixed! Thank you very much for letting us know!
kel-alt - something else to fix - at website in Technology paragraph - '..great a market cap.' -
does not make sense to me, maybe should be 'a great market cap' ?
I bought TTC thinking there was actually an island! about a year ago and have just been
hodling ever since. Should have sold the massive pump but I foolishly have trouble doing that.
Maybe my couple hundred will be worth 34k in 5 years like other poster predicts. We'll see.
Nobody knows where the value of cryptos is is going, but based on the past, should be pretty
good!

Wallet update
by
kel-alt
on 20/04/2018, 05:09:53 UTC
On Twitter right above 'sorry our $PAC Twitter has been hacked' is the wallet update link.
Seriously, who in their right mind would use that link right next to a hack notice?
I am not finding wallet update at $PAC.net site.
If you are just supposed to re-download the wallet there, that's as clear as mud.
Geekgod help you if you have not backed up wallet.dat.
Another day in crypto-land. Maybe things will be smoother in the future.
Market green, up $100 bln, so I'm going to focus on that!

Electrum wallet not synching not connecting
by
kel-alt
on 13/04/2018, 19:13:49 UTC
Apr 13 - Anybody know why and how to fix electrum wallet?
I have already used fix servers and that was working
a few days ago even though 'not verified' was showing,
send still went thru. But nothing working today. Thanks.
OK-some hours later - it seems the send was successful
and I am connected now with auto-connect off and
e3.verge-electrum.com and 5002 - what is 'unverified'
is the 'date'. Connection is off and on but appears to work,
maybe this is normal for the electrum wallet.

What could be better?  Grin

New Verge logo will be two shades of pink with some black curlies.

Any paper wallet link for XVG please ?

The link below shows 404 - not found.

https://vergecurrency.com/paper-wallet/index.html

This one is also not working -
https://github.com/vergecurrency/vergecurrency.com/raw/master/paper-wallet/xvg-paperwallet.zip
Maybe the generator needs to be updated due to fork?
Just went to site and could not find paper wallet link.
If so I'd like to know before I use the old one unzipped on dedicated laptop.

Go back and look at the OP and you tell me how XVG code would resemble DOGE code at this point in time. This coin is far more advanced than DOGE ever was. Things change, grow and improve. Remaining stagnant in crypto is akin to being dead.
[/quote]

Right...but what I was thinking is the exploitable flaw has been around since dogedark,
the last four years or before, but you seem to be saying xvg was 'improved' to contain this
flaw, based on current events. I in no way claim to know anything about how this all works,
just saying how it looks to me. I read recently that one wrong letter in a line of code allowed
a coin to be exploited. I think as crypto gets more valuable we will see flaws found and exploited,
hacks, reported more and more, until the tech matures. Due to recent rise xvg is more than a
third of my holdings, but a few months ago I got some ADA because I read PHDs were reviewing
the code. I don't know if that means anything because I watched a review that said despite this
ADA code was flawed. Looks very much like this tech needs more time to be reliable.

Thanks for the link, that fixes the connection issue, but I still see these unverified transactions even after setting up everything from scratch. Don't know what this is, why are they not verified?!?
[/quote]

I have the same 'unverified' problem, but connection is off and on also.
I tried sending small amount to paper wallet and it worked - showing on explorer.
Like a 4 cylinder car running on 3 - rough, but gets you there. It is obvious that
blockchain is still new tech! What I don't understand is why DOGE has not had the
same hack since xvg was a doge clone. Also, since this open source code was
probably copied from doge parent, why has that coin not been hacked?

Call to Whales to Pitch in to Crowdfund
by
kel-alt
on 25/03/2018, 05:04:00 UTC
Hey Whales - https://verge-blockchain.info/richlist - there are 10 of you that have 200,000,000
- two hundred million or more Verge (#1 is almost 3 billion) - how bout sparing some for the 75 million needed to move XVG forward? Even at number 100, if that is a whale, you have 19 million.
All these top 100 cannot be exchanges. Can anybody tell which addresses belong to exchanges?
I've heard it is possible. I hope the crowd fund experiment ends well! Donations should more than pay
for themselves with an increase in coin value due to improvements.

Re: Storing Verge
by
kel-alt
on 24/03/2018, 16:43:48 UTC
Just a quick questions to clear up some confusion if you all don't mind.

So, I have verge on binance but I want to store it more securely in a paper wallet.  I've generated a key pair.  What I am wondering is, once I send the xvg to this public key can I just leave it there?  I am trying to figure out how to get it off of that public address once I want to sell it as well.  Do I leave the currency on that paper wallet and then when I want to sell it, import it into a verge wallet like electrum and then send it back to binance??  Does this sound about right?

Thanks to anyone that can clear this up for me.  I've been trying to learn about all this stuff the last few weeks... it is alot to take in as a newbie.

Kadin

kel-alt Mar 24 -
I have XVG on paper wallet now and may want to import to electrum wallet but there is no
'import' function I have found. I am going to try putting paper wal address and private key
in 'addresses' if I can. Must be done off-line. Will report back. I generated my paper wallets
with computer and printer that have never been connected to internet as suggested.
- It is 'sweep' not import - wallet, private keys, sweep - now to try it! It went well, I just did not
'broadcast' the first time. Now I should be able to send back to exchange if I want.

Re: PAC iOS Mobile Wallet

Hi everyone,

On their website, they say "We successfully demonstrated and released the iOS mobile wallet and the Android version is closer to releasing that originally planned."

I can't find any link to download mobile wallet for iPhone!

Any idea?

Cheers

https://www.pacmobile.net/

kel-alt - I am being paranoid - I have heard of bogus phone apps and will not download
if exact name is not given on official website. I went to the above web page and it was
very unclear to me - seemed to be a proposal for mobile app, not a working app. I was
also confused by Coinami, I put one coin on and it seems like I have to have a separate
Coinami app for each coin. This is all not so easy.  And I could not find this
https://www.pacmobile.net/ page on the official site. So I am 'Huh?'

$PAC Has been removed from Coinmarketcap. Hopefully to fix error and relist with correct info. At the very least we got our 15 min of Fame!! lol Cool

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/paccoin/

You can still view it directly -- the info is still wrong, argh. But they've fixed the listing so people won't get confused which is good.

best,
break.

kel-alt - I missed taking screenshot of PAC at #3  - I have taken many screenshots of CMC errors!
I will be very happy when they update the logo. At one recent peak I sent them some BTC.
They probably make plenty with the ads, but I go there so often I felt like donating.

I have about 3 million coins in my wallet, staked them for a month and got 480k. If i was allowed to move my 50 million coins from cryptopia and stake them, at least i could have increased my number of coins.

Please do not quote all the thread if is not necessary, reading this has become frustrating!

kel-alt - RE 'quote' - maybe they are like me and cannot figure out how to post without quoting!
I can not figure out where the new topic button is even after reading 'help'. 92 posts now and

If you want to just make a new post without quoting someone, you use the 'reply' button all the way at the bottom of the page.

best,

kel-alt  - 'reply' button was not at bottom of page, then I saw it at top and clicked it to test, worked, I
