My Qora node http://qora.co.uk still alive, a Windows Server 2019 VPS, I use it to host my decentralized website. Modern website without https is very annoying, can someone guide me to add SSL cer to the Qora software or old Jetty web server? Thanks!
Qora is a new 2nd generation cryptocurrency designed from the ground up to solve Bitcoins biggest problems while also adding new promising features. Qora is being built from scratch and will not rely on any other crypto-currency. Qora uses a new proof-of-stake algorithm making it future-proof. Qora is being developed in Java. Qora relied on an IPO for initial distribution of the supply. The total amount of Qora in existence is 10'000'000'000 (10 Billion). One Qora has 8 digits after the decimal point.
Ed25519 DSA to verify and sign messages. 5 minute block time depending on the network activity. Retargeting every 10 blocks. Deterministic and Password protected wallets that can be recovered/generated from seeds. New Proof-of-Stake algorithm. A REST API to directly communicate with the client. Naming Service: allows the user to register a key-value pair which can be used for various purposes (URLS, addresses, ). This Naming Service will also include an exchange where users can buy and sell keys. Voting System: Allows voting inside the client to make community decisions such as which feature will be implemented next. Arbitrary Transactions: a simple feature which allows users to send any payload they want over the network. This can be used by third-parties to build additional features on top of Qora (chat, ...). Assets: assets with asset/asset trading pairs. Encrypted Messenger: messages are encrypted standard AES256. Dezentralized Web: decentralized Web. Social Network: decentralized Social Network. There are a couple common issues (which are being resolved, but we would like to provide some workarounds for you for now...) that cause certain annoyances when using QORA...
1. DB fails to re-load correctly when killed - to fix this, simply delete your data folder, download the one above that was sync'd as of August 25th. Replace the data folder with the one above after extracting. MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS CLOSE QORA WITH FILE-QUIT TO AVOID THIS ISSUE.
2. Trying to setup a hosted QORA wallet doesn't allow you to save settings... - to fix this issue, file-quit on your qora wallet and let the saving db window disappear (this sometimes takes a couple minutes...) once this is completed, remove the 'settings.json' file in the QORA wallet folder, then restart your QORA wallet and let it create a new settings.json file.
NEW hosted QORA wallet and decentralized block explorer
A new QORA hosted wallet instance has been setup at http://node.qora.tech:9090 - this can be used to access the QORA network, and find hosted sites there, as well as blogs, etc.
A web wallet is in development, but currently only allows localhost connections. This will be redeveloped and a new UI with all QORA has to offer will be built in a web-based platform.
I have at least some temporary plans for the QORA chain, at least until we have data storage in Qortal. Things like utilizing the QORA chain to 'copyright' (for lack of a better word) images, etc... until they can be ported over to Qortal.
Also, I just don't like getting rid of blockchains, especially ones like QORA that have a bunch of useful features that can still be made use of.
So keeping the chain running I feel is basically my 'duty' to the ecosystem.
The QORA chain is still a very useful chain, and it has some data that is useful. So I just want to keep it running. Eventually I may find a way to port the data over to Qortal as well, but eventually we will probably lose the QORA chain entirely. Just not yet.
"The QORA chain is still a very useful chain" , I agree. I use Qora to manage tokens for friends, yesterday I just setup a VPS server for Qora node, IP address is 62.171.129.176 . Let's keep the chain running, please.
