What is that of blacklisting?

I don't understand it really well

It's basically DDOS protection.

Yes, except who has the power to alter who is classified as an "attacker"?  Once you can blacklist an IP can't someone decide to apply to it anyone?

Re: The numbers: Bitcoin Xt or Bitcoin Core

It's not a bad solution. It's actually a good solution to give a choice to the free market wills.

So, spamming network with hundreds of XT nodes on distributed cloud-servers is free market will?
The same as supporting free speech with blocking Tor IPs ?

What is wrong with distributed cloud-servers? Large parts of the internet economy is running on them.

If you really want to vote do it with a node.

Yes, there's absolutely nothing wrong if a single person adds a few hundreds "votes" with rented cloud-servers Smiley
I may only suggest you renting a decent botnet to add 10K more votes.
How many of the Bitcoin Core Nodes are on rented cloud-servers?
Are this "votes" also invalid in your opinion?

I never heard somebody complaining about somebody running more than one full node.

Core nodes don't vote, they just work and serve.
But some mates started talking about "voting" with nodes, which is just absurd. Are they pretending that machines have the right to vote for things that can affect people ?

These cloud nodes only create illusion that XT is gaining popularity. There are 14% of these nodes, but XT's real hashing power is less than 0.1% Smiley

Any person(s) that would try to manipulate others based on "fake" nodes is shady in my book.  The question is, what are they trying to gain here?  I'll stick with Core.

Any person(s) that would use fake nodes to try to show a fork is getting popular is shady in my book.  It shows they are trying to manipulate people/miners for personal gain (even if it's just an ego thing?)

Stick with core.

Only an idiot, or someone who intentionally stuck their head in the sand, couldn't see there was an issue at Gox years before it went belly up.  Why people put money there I have no idea.  Maybe it wasn't obvious what the  problem was (we have more details now) but there was something off and it was only a matter of time.  I got the feeling there were a lot of naive younger people who had money/btc there.

Hi directbet, for the hungarian Gp of formula 1 tomorrow, can you add a safety car YES ? To site now i read only Safetu car NO, thanks

I know, this is one of the frustrating things about this site.  Sometimes they only have 1 option listed on a particular bet.  Happens too often for my liking.

No, this site will usually accept your bet pretty quickly, with 0 confirmations.  So, if you're watching a match, you could definitely hit directbet pretty big using this tactic.  Once your bet is accepted, they cannot cancel it.  Just like they didn't refund mine even though my player got hurt.

Yeah, I'm not disputing the rule.  I'm telling you that many sites have the 1 set completed rule, but then also have a rule for "live" betting which is different from bets that you make before the match started, that say the entire match must complete.

Directbet tennis hack

So I just lost a bet that I placed "live" after a tennis match has started.  It appears that the player I bet on retired after I placed the bet and then the bet counts as a loss.  The rules say if one set is completed then the bets will stand.  I bet this match in the second set and the player retired in the third set.

Other online betting sites I usually play at say if you bet live tennis then the match must complete, without retirements.  However, at directbet, you can apparently wait until you see a player hurt in the second or third set and then bet the other guy, and you'll win.  Seems like a weird rule setup, but hopefully someone can take advantage of it.

I'd give directbet a 3.  Really, it's cool and a good idea, but the lines are just SO bad sometimes.  And, it's supposed to be great for live betting but really half the time the bet you want is not available, or they only have 1/2 of the bet you want (i.e. Royals v. Red Sox, they only have a line up for Red Sox to win but not Royals, even when the game is close)

I must say in directbet's defense, the rule is very clear and it's that way at most online sportsbooks.  The first set needs to be completed otherwise all bets, even for the "loser" are a push and refunded.

I suggest you learn the rules before placing bets and/or complaining.

Final Score
Bolivia 1 - 3 Peru

Bolivia 1  -  3  Peru

Congratulations.

I had 3-1 Peru winning.  That guy didn't have that score there, I think he edited it.

I'd keep an eye on Greece.  It seems like the next week should bring some fireworks for Greece.  If they leave the EU and/or there are currency controls, Bitcoin is going to fly again, like when Cyprus had their financial issues.

Is $1.5 million for a website a legitimate price?  It seems extremely pricy to me, who has literally no experience in website design.  I mean, unless it's like a site for Microsoft or something I can't imagine spending that much for a website.

Also, $100,000 a month to a company that no one really knows anything about?  It just seems strange, to myself, a total outsider.

There has been a big shift in Russian to get the "world" away from using the US dollar.  I think they view it as a possibility that Bitcoin will help replace the US dollar, so they will risk it and allow Bitcoin to flourish there.

Well I recently sold some thousands in BTC for fiat and the fiat has showed in my account.  Someone said something about only a few thousand in a month will get you banned, I'm hoping I survive...Bummer there's no other EASY way to sell thousands in BTC for fiat.  Everything else requires a lot more work, it seems to me (like localbitcoins).

LBC isn't that much work, plus you'll get a higher price. You just post an ad and meet up somewhere with the buyer. Or they can deposit the payment directly to your bank account.

I'm not asking for specifics because I don't want to invade your privacy.  But can you give me a rough estimate of how much BTC I can sell for fiat, and how long it takes?  I'd imagine it's mostly like people want to buy less than 1 BTC worth at a time, so it would take a while to sell it.  Whereas on Coinbase it's $3k at a time (well, until I maybe get banned?).  Thanks.

Re: How do I turn BTC into cash?
by

Can anyone provide their recommendation please for turning BTC into cash?  I'm in the US.  I'm just looking for the simplest and reputable company.  I don't really mind about paying a little extra to have safety.  I'd rather not use localbitcoins, I'm looking for an exchange.  Thanks.

Coinbase.

So I can send BTC to coinbase and then sell the BTC, and withdraw the fiat into my bank account?  How long do withdrawals take to get into your account?  (I'm already signed up, just haven't tried it yet).

EDIT: I just saw it takes 2-4 business days to go into your account.  This seems really simple to sell BTC into USD...are there any issues with Coinbase?  I'm surprised more people don't use it...
