UPDATE
Its important everyone downloads the new version wallets ASAP.
Simply download the new wallet, close your existing wallet if its open, then run the new wallet.This wallet can be overwritten on top of your existing version. Your wallet balance should remain unchanged after installing the new wallet.This is a good time to take another backup of your wallet.dat file for safe keeping (Not required but backing up your wallet regularly is always recommended )

I'm divided on this. On the one hand, I want new to see Stratis reach newer heights, with extra features being added to the Stratis framework on a regular basis. On the other hand, cryptic statements about "a major announcement on the part of the dev team" sort of sound like the typical drivel spouted in over-hyped press releases by paid penny stock promoters.
I guess we'll have to wait 48 hours to see what this "announcement" is, and how it'll affect the price.
