Wallet doe snot stake for me either. Mining with 3-ish at the official pool gives me about a coin a day at the current rate...and I mined at steeppool before, still waiting on my payout from there...

Staking has not been activated yet. Mining will finish first if I understood it right.

static const int LAST_POW_BLOCK = 1000000;

The very last POW block to be mined.

I still need to dig around in the code to find where POS fires off at about what block.

what is that coinhive  Undecided just crush my little computer  Cry

Sorry, much need to keep those script kiddies from gaming the faucet any further.

So an explanation as to why I choose this route is probably in order.
For those of you who don't know what coinhive is, it is a browser based XMR mining company.  The software they developed to do this has become very popular with bad bad people. It maybe seen or you may have heard of it has JS/Miner.  But after several months of testing this company's info. I can indeed say it is safe to use.  The javascript does indeed allow you to control its behavior 100%.  I have also tested to see if it remained resident in my test systems. It does not.  Soon as you closer your browser or even move to another tab the software stops.

After that brief little explanation of what the coinhive proof of work is, here is what I plan to do with any if at all funds generated by this method.
All XMR will be traded for fluttercoins at a split of 20% back to faucet and 80% to dev fund of the developers choice.

As of know, the current proof of work required to do is 2048 hashes.

But as I stated in another post.  The faucet, as long it is working as intended and not being gamed, is low on my priority list at the moment.

thanks for explanation.  Smiley yeah the faucet is needed a captcha system. Maybe it can be recaptcha + a math solving captcha somthing else .. that coinhive is really imposible because of needing computer hardware. faucets are for beginners or somebodies have time but not have money  Wink

Have tested the coinhive on my tablet and phone. While it does work fine on my tablet the phone does tend to lock up.  Even my old IBM 2.2ghz with 512Mb server can handle it just fine. With my 8 core desktop taking about 30 seconds to figure the math problems.  The old IBM takes about 5 minutes.  Still do able.  Recaptch and other forms of captchas can be thwarted fairly easily with advances being made in machine learning, botnets and a few other tricks.

But to that end, you can thank the butt sucking script kiddie out there for ruining it for everyone.
I have lowered the hashes from 2048 to 1024.

Now if that is asking too much, I'll be more then happy to remove the coinhive from the faucet and just set the payment output to 10 coins a week and if the script kiddie comes around again and crashes the faucet.....i'll just leave it in that state for awhile.

Its been dishing out free coins since late 2014, random amounts from 1 to 30 coins.  If you add up the transactions on the faucet...and the coins the devs and myself have put into it to give out for free....Then I think it is fair to say coinhive is worth the time it takes to get some freebies.

But feel free to join our discord channel and post suggestions or ideas for the faucet in the faucet channel.  I'll look them over.

how many blocktime and blocksize?

Block Time: 2 minutes.
Block Size:  MAX_BLOCK_SIZE = 1000000 <---- straight from the code.

One of you fucking scammy cunts decided to game the faucet apparently.

Enjoy your fluttercoins you fucking cheap bastard.

 Roll Eyes

Yes someone gamed the faucet.  That little trick has been fixed and now needs Proof of Work to get a reward.  However do to this scammy bastard.  This feature will now and possibly forever break the in wallet faucet feature.

I haven't had any time yet to look at redoing the wallet to faucet interactions and is low on my priority list.  But if your in the discord where I do most of my posting you'll find out when the faucet to wallet gets fixed.

It can still be mined yes.  It was never really dead.  Just a lot investors lost interest.  Still a lot of wallets out there running as long as that is happening is the coin really ever dead?

I have also went the route of starting a discord server just for the coin.  Skype is a bit outdated in my book.  Feel free to join: https://discord.gg/YkCEYER

I am still waiting access to reopen the website, in the mean time http://fluttercointalk.com/ is still online and I do check it about once ever two or three days.

FYI:  For those who use *buntu and derivatives, the Fluttercoin PPA I run always has the latest wallet compiled and ready to download.

I am also waiting on some info from ofeefee so I can get back to work on the website.
The faucet is still staking and will become available hopefully soon.

Code:
{
    "version" : "v0.7.5.20-ga",
    "protocolversion" : 70013,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 699251.77356000,
    "newmint" : 0.00000000,
    "stake" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 1177862,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "moneysupply" : 366605781.01598901,
    "connections" : 0,
    "proxy" : "",
    "ip" : "0.0.0.0",
    "difficulty" : {
        "proof-of-work" : 0.69070731,
        "proof-of-stake" : 0.03124954
    },
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1483941607,
    "keypoolsize" : 102,
    "paytxfee" : 0.01000000,
    "mininput" : 0.01000000,
    "errors" : ""
}

Just need to find a new home for it.  If anyone knows of any cheap VPS solutions that will accept crypto as payment, please let me know and I will try and get the faucet backup and running.

Two computers, two wallets, just one IP. Freeflutter goes just to one wallet?

Yes, only one wallet per IP is allowed to request freeflutter.
This is not completely set in stone just yet.

@kizeren: thanks a lot, i will try this stuff you provided and do my best for another nice faucet...

The faucet I run received a donation of a bunch of fluttercoins.

When version .15 hits the streets the front end for the faucet will be turned off.
Coins can only then be requested through the wallet itself.

This is all part of the "FreeFlutter" rollout in the .15 release.

...

I just pushed out some changes to the faucet on github.  Feel free to look them over.  There is some very crude php/sql stuff in there till I get some proper template functions setup.  Feel free to push me some changes!

Can someone point me to a Fluttercoin mining pool please? I've tried all the linked ones, but no luck, they all seem to be gone, down, or problematic.

you try - http://flt.mcbridepcrepair.com/

Yea my pool as stated above is PHP-Mpos install.

It currently is setup for Auto-Difficulty.  Will auto re-target you difficulty to keep the most amount of shares coming in for you.
It is PPS.  There are some coins in the wallet.  So if you want to try it go for it.  CPU friendly.

Just a little information on the faucet itself. For those who are curious.

It is a spin off of "PHP-Mpos" by "TheSerapher".   It was then stripped down into "OpenFaucet" by "Zen00".

So underneath it is still mostly "OpenFaucet" by "Zen00" with some of my own modifications for fluttercoin.

As so the source is opensource and free to download.

PHP-Mpos - https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos
Original OpenFaucet - https://github.com/Zen00/openfaucet

Thanks to the two projects above we now have FlutterFaucet.

FlutterFaucet - https://github.com/kizeren/FlutterFaucet

The FlutterFaucet code is still being reworked some and thus you will see some files missing.  Have no fear, the code works just fine and is useable.

In the next few days I will update the github for the flutterfaucet.  I am always available if you want to get your own faucet up and running.

Additions in FlutterFaucet vs. OpenFaucet.

FlutterFauacet has the ability to auto send messages to users of the faucet.  IE: Down time for maintenance.
Messages when the faucet paysout.  Messages for accepted reqeusts (WIP).  Front page designed specifically for fluttercoin.
There is one addition I won't explain but is started in the faucet and is a "what is to come" in the near future and I will sum it up with one word.  "Referrals."  I'll let you draw your own conclusions on that one.

Sorry for the poor formatting.   Forums are not my specialty.  Grin
