Re: How many times you heard the bitcoin gonna die?

Sometimes it seems to me that the media do not care what to write about or criticize whom, for them the most important thing is to be an exciting event. And since the media love to exaggerate and create excitement, Bitcoin will probably ย“dieย” more than a dozen times in subsequent years.
True, they could be disappointing. Sometimes they make things worse by exaggerating and adding drama feeling in the news. Bitcoin will not just die that easily because dying means everyone abandoning btc which unlikely gonna happen. There will be people who will hodl and continue to hodl until the price pump again.

Re: the future of crypto is good or bad
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 15:03:58 UTC
I believe that the future of crypto will be good because this is the new technology which invented that will help people to make a fast transaction in the financial system. It will evolve the traditional payment system into a digital payment system which we will see in the future because the technology will stay among us. We cannot deny that it needs approval from the government to make it works properly in our lives and I am sure they will accepting cryptocurrency as the new payment system.
Right, bitcoin's future will still be good and that the dump happening now is just part of its cycle. This is how volatility works, it will not stay at the same price. The government's acceptance will do good in the application of bitcoin payment but of course there will be changes on how we accumulate it for sure.

Re: HOW BITCOIN BENEFITS THE ECONOMY?
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 05:32:13 UTC
Bitcoin not directly affect economy but it changes the whole scene of economy and for now the best thing is if you keep crypto with you for future now the investors have invested much of their capital in crypto, For economy it is affecting the population life standard and crypto is making people lives better.
It is not all crypto enthusiasts get their lives better because not all are successful in using crypto as a tool. Not all can do the trading very well as well as managing their investments. Also, bitcoin may not directly affect the economy but what about those who are unemployed because they decided to stick with crypto earning. Of course they would count as unemployed in the statistics right?

Re: Offline stores that accept payments using bitcoins
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 05:07:48 UTC
I've never seen a store that uses bitcoin in real life. It is unfortunately becoming increasingly more inconvenient to use bitcoin for real life payments due the slow transactions and high fees for stuff like groceries, coffee etc.

If we want that, we need the lightning network soon. Until then... it's simply not worth the hassle.

Yes, you are right, what if there is no internet network in the store? of course it will take a long time.
I think if payment in stores using bitcoin is very inefficient, because it requires a living internet network and so on without a power outage,
I think it will make people around it more complicated, because now there are so many parents who don't understand about using bitcoin.
There are stores abroad that accepts bitcoin as payment already but of course they are only few. @Mhd-Bobbi is right, in order to process cryptos and bitcoin successfully, a working internet connection is needed. In short, accepting bitcoin as payment offline is not possible. At this point, using btc payment is hard to implement because not all countries accepted it plus the fact that there are countries who have poor Internet connection like here in the Philippines.

Re: If you're ~15% in the red, is it crazy to sell?
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 04:39:46 UTC
I would say always put stop loss even when the market seems bullish , 15% means you didn't use stop loss and I would sell it if it happen to me because stopping loss in any point is better than losing more , Try to trade non emotional and forget about the past .
Sometimes people dont set stop/loss at drops like that. It would be foolish to trade off all your assets at a loss because you are just emotionally moved that you have lost your money. What people dont realize is that they have not lost their money but the value of the asset has dropped. But it can happen and is nothing to be panicky about. Same in other markets as well.

Crypto being very speculative is subject to these risks and one must be aware of them before getting in the market. No use panicking but remaining calm is what they must try.
It's really important to be smart and not put everything in one basket because this market dropped could make you emotionally and panic.
You are correct, we don't loss money even if the price will dropped as long as we stay strong and hold our precious coins.
Though it is hard to make decisions with our emotions set aside (which I also think is not possible), maybe its possible if we initially think of what can happen. Maybe it could help to lesson the intensity of emotions like the disappointment when we see our portfolio in red. I was thought to think of what could happen for every decision I make and sadly sometimes I neglect it. Strategies are also helpful at times like this like because it helps you plan ahead if ever something didn't go the way you want.

Re: Gambling is growing at nonstop rates in my country
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 02:55:25 UTC
Is this an isolated phenomenon or it's just where im from? I see more and more gambling commercials, tv ads, and I see more and more gambling spots all over the streets. There were casinos before but im talking about places where people take bets usually on soccer and other sports, not a classic casino with the usual casino stuff. I see they are located near high schools too. This could cause a gambling addiction epidemic among the youth, which has a hard time making money these days and feel desperate and end up gambling whatever little they make.

I claim this cannot be a simple coincidence. The rich have always gambled, but lower end classes weren't gambling that much in the past as far as I know. There weren't definitely as many gambling spots all over the place before.
Common reason for this thing to happened.

1. Government isnt strict when it comes to gambling businesses.
2. Gambling operators do extent out their business yet we know gambling industry is indeed profitable.

It appears not to be a simple coincidence but these things can happen without your notice gradually.
In fact, there are government officials who does gambling. How ironic isn't it? Those who says not to do it, restricting us to do it are the ones who do it. Officials are prohibited to do gambling so they find ways how to do it and one example is asking other people to do it for them. They just give the money for betting and that's it!

Gambling in lower end classes is possible now because there are gambling games that are much less costly in casinos. They could easily choose a place where authorities can't see them and then gamble with cards, animals, sports and etc.

Re: Do you think Bitcoin price will bottom out at $3000?
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 02:01:16 UTC
I think it should.

As per CMC the total Market cap is only $121 billion. If the price of Bitcoin hits $3000, then the market cap approx will be $100 billion. I may be wrong in the calculation, but it will be less to what it is now. Which means most of the short term investors and panic sellers have left the market. Those who are left are either long term holders and big whales.
The only option left for these whales is to pump the price  at $3000 level.

What do you think? will stop at $3000 level or will it go further down
According to the price volatility everything can be. We don't know what we are gonna face tomorrow. Unless there is an innovation against the price decline we can see even below 2k. The darker price, harder it gets towards the darker and I think we are close to that dark color. A new breath is needed and subsequently everything can be fixed.
It is very hard to decide and to think whether bitcoin will rise from this and honestly, all I have now is the belief that bitcoin is the currency of the future. Based from the price, people keeps selling even at low prices and there are so many reasons to think why they do that. Maybe they need money, maybe they give up on bitcoin already and etc.

Even if whales could be the one doing the selling causing the big dump at the price, @pakhitheboss could be right. Maybe the only option left is for whales to be greedy right now, and them buying will surely make a change at the market price.

Re: Spending and buying back cryptos drives the price back?
by
knightmairesaint
on 18/12/2018, 01:30:28 UTC
It's partly correct for me but you can't just force the people to spend their bitcoins during the low time days.

Usage of bitcoin is changing from time to time and this is the reality. Bitcoin became a store of value and this is the reason why many people are holding it and don't want to spend it. Spending and using it do really help but you just can't force everyone with that.
True, most people will hodl at times like this to avoid profit loss besides spending bitcoin at low prices consumes more btc when spending at high prices. More people to hodl the more time the price will stay at certain ranges and this is where whales come in. For me, they are able to make a change in the price because they hold much more than we can. Spending and buying will not drive the price back that easily, it will take a huge volume to be spent or to be bought to make the line long in a chart.

Will be many country want to allowed using bitcoin as legal transaction, just take several year later many country have adoption of bitcoin as legal e currency, just wait and hold your asset for the best investment at the future.
we are on the track to realize that.many government already adopted blockchain technoloy in any field.and maybe their will accept bitcoin too as legal transaction.
like the conditions in my country, where the government began fighting for bitcoin to enter the stock market, although it is still not permitted as a transaction tool. but that in my opinion is a big progress, isn't it possible in the future bitcoin as a transaction tool in everyday life, I think everything requires a process

Well i think it depend on the businesses if they'll accept btc. Aside from countries like china who's openly against it, i think governments will not restrict anyone from using btc as a transactional tool.
In our country,  it is not forbidden to use cryptos and investing on it but news spread about bitcoin as a scam investment. Of course this news had affected those  who are new in cryptos,  they easily back out and quit afraid that the money would not earn any profit and worse,  money would not be returned to them.

Re: What do you do when price falls?

Every fall is a opportunity for us to buy good quality coins at lower price but those opportunity sometimes need to consider our resources as not all the time we had extra to fill our bags. If I have enough I will buy more and more to take advantage as this technology will bounce back at the right time. Indeed this still the best investment if you want to go in long term plan.
That is something that many simply do not see, it is true that when the price goes down we lose money but lower prices also give to us the opportunity to buy coins for a very cheap price, if you really believe that the market of cryptocurrencies is going to change the world then investing in this moment can be the best thing that you can do for your future finances.
There are many people who are just saying that they will buy at low prices because it is a good investment, maybe so that they can post something here. Trader sees the good opportunity at low prices so they invest at this time and when the price bounce back (which will happen) they are the ones who gains the most profit. Bouncing back of price is not always eventually right after any dump, just like this time, the price continues to fall and only have small movements. Crypto-investing just like other investments need time so give it some more.

Re: How to predict whales manipulation

Today again some whales came back on BTC ..
Does anyone have some suggestion to be alerted before this kind of manipulation ... Iย’m really fed up to see some big red or green candles without any reason ..
Iย’m always in or out when it arrives ...
You need to be in the whales shoes before you can predict what they want to do...I think those whales will not share their ideas to us. Those type of people are much greedy to our money and as long as they can sustain the price they will do just to stay the price to a comfortable level that they can easily manipulate.
That is very clever but I don't think that even how much we imagined it, predicting is still the best that we can do. Whales will be whales and they will do what they are best at, and if causing panic so weak-handed traders will sell is in their plan they are doing just fine. We all have our own strategy to earn money here and if those who are successful in this will tell, then I believe that all people who are here will become rich easily.

Re: Young people will drive Bitcoin adoption more than the older generation.

For me, as far as the younger generations are more into technology and development, older people tends to be more interested in social medias only. Here in our place, older people are much interested about communications applications like Facebook, Skype, Youtube and etc. and not that interest with much more that the technology can offer. Millennials are also into that but because they grow up with the technology already developing therefore suiting their needs and wants. And just like what others have said, younger generations are more open to new ideas and are likely to be more corrupted with Internet.

Re: The market is so positive (100% HODL)

Actually, It was my mistake when I didn't recognize the right moment to sell (at least I sold alts).

But now.. so close to strongest support level 3k, after 1 month of the continuous dump, what is the point to sell? Risk/reward is weak.

I believe things will be better soon.

Do you have any other indicators other than those positive news? There is no big money entering the market and I think people who have left the market because of this bear market may not be interested in this market anymore, especially the newcomers.

Well they may be disinterested but i'm sure these people will rush to get back when they see a reversal. It may only take a group of whales to decide to turn the market around and when that happens, you'll see people again flocking to crypto.
Yes, at times like this whales are the ones who can easily turn the market around. Who have given them the power? No one but because they have the money that can be used for selling or buying at low prices, it has a big effect in the market.

@turkandjaydee I also believe that those newbies left the market. I mean, when the price of bitcoin reaches up to $6K, this forum became flooded with new people and when the market goes down, they are likely the ones who left easily. Getting interested into cryptos is easy but staying is not for the trends, market and etc will test you.

Re: What causes a person to become intensely addicted to gambling?
by

I think the reason why they are getting addicted to gambling is just because they want an instant money, they want an easy profit which is not possible. Beside, I think another reason is once they play gambling and lose they tend to play again to retrieve their loss then it'll become habit of them which can conclude that you became an addict.
Well, who doesn't want easy money Cheesy . If they will give you way to have easy money, will you refuse it?

These is the main problem why gamblers are getting addicted into gambling. They see gambling as a quick rich scheme which is wrong. Maybe a quick rich if you are very lucky enough to win consecutive times. Gamblers are getting addicted too because they are losing their money and they want to retrieve it. They can't afford what they lost.
But most of the time gamblers only lose money so I don't think it is easy money at all. You bet, you lose, you play again to get back what you loss, yet you still loss, then play again and etc. I mean, playing and playing all over again hoping to retrieve the loss money is wasting money at all. Gamblers get addicted because of greed, playing may be fun and exciting but when you start losing money, it ain't no fun at all. Don't get addicted, control yourself and most importantly, don't ever think that gambling is a good source of money. It is a game that is so risky.

Re: cryptocurrency exchange hack
by

The truth is many exchanges are running centralize system, and that is reason for the series of hack on crypto exchange.
Many exchanges are not using multi security measures.I advocate for decentralized system because In decentralized exchange, one controls his private keys, but in centralized exchange the private keys are kept on server, and once the server is broken by hackers, people will loose money.
It's behooves me to how exchanges are always being hacked almost all the time and the operators of these exchanges never seem to learn anything about how to prevent these kind of hacks.  They should be made to return the hacked crypto to their customers if these kind of things happens.
Very true, for years of crypto business I think hackers are very much involve. Of course, they will especially at this kind of things where crypto transactions rely on Internet connection. The news of exchanges being hacked is not new anymore so it is frustrating to think that even if they knew that their systems are hacker-magnets, operators, security personnel and etc are kind of useless. I mean, they should be updating their systems and checking it for vulnerability. Traders trust them to be used for trading so they better much return it with good work.

Re: Do You Need To Put Your Emotion in Trading ?
by
knightmairesaint

Emotions in trading could cause you a big stress but on the other hand it's hard to be fully cold, we are not machines. The key is find some kind of balance between cold mind and the heart because sometimes you just have the feeling if something is wrong or right, we have all experienced that.
One emotion that you never, ever should give a chance is panic, this can really cost you a lot and it will totaly blind your common sense.
Well this is the emotion that wins for most traders, especially newbies and weak hands, when all they need is to calm down and think thoroughly what to do. Yeah, seeing your investments loosing profit is sad, frustrating and etc but if negativity wins you over then you will lose more than what you have already. Trading is fun, exciting but the market is very playful and it will play you, will urge you to have mixed emotions at the same time.
