Hey guys, saw a lot of comments, so I will try to address one by one.

75C working temp - I don't see anything wrong with it. S9 can withstand 90C and above from what I have researched and talked with other fellow forum members. We used them in an office AC-ed room, so pretty much we had to accept our surroundings. I didn't invest in any
additional cooling or so. If I had to add more AC of fans, electricity bills would have been horrible.

Statistics - approximately for the period 1st February - 1st October 2018, both machines have mined 0.40782123 BTC All Times Reward (I am copy/pasting from Slush Dashboard).

Photos, I am adding here.

https://www.screencast.com/t/JulEqiFR
https://www.screencast.com/t/b2YXWjQKa
https://www.screencast.com/t/B7KRgogcDt

Price - i really have no idea, how much would used S9's (13.5 TH by specifics) fairly be sold for at the moment according to you guys? I am looking at Bitmain site now and the prices for new ones are ridiculous (of course there are customs taxes, waiting time etc)

Hi guys,

I give up and shut down BTC mining, so I have 2 S9s for sale. 13.5 TH purchased from Bitmain directly.

Working Since January, stopped yesterday. Average temp while working was 75 C, in an AC room. Hashrate is stable, needed restart once a week on average.

Location: European Union

Ethereum is beginning to fall again. It is estimated that the bear will have a profit run for four months.
eth current price is 423$ too much down
price is still falling means eth price bottom is still going more down i think 400$ will be the bottom or maybe more but one thing eth is too cheap
3 months ago eth price was more then 1300$.
its because more ICOs are raising funds in eth coin and sell them all for $ but still some companies did not sell their eth. means eth will go down more ? Undecided

It might go down a bit more with other coins. But I think it will be up later in the year.

I think that people are losing interest since there are no record prices anymore. Another factor is that nobody wants to invest in a bearish market, especially in riskier projects so the ICO space is currently shut down.
In this article, you can find a good market price review and some other well-argued factors for the current bearish trend: https://coincodex.com/article/1452/the-cryptocurrency-market-in-context-market-cap-slides-to-280-billion-as-slump-continues/

So folks, as they say in the movies, we have 2 news for ETH right now, a good one and a bad one?
With which should I start?

1. Good news - we finally cut loose from BTC price dependency!

2. Bad news - dependency is in a negative for ETH direction though. BTC is very far from its all time low for 2018 (6000 USD), while ETH already dipped down further than its all time low for 2018 and reached new one against USD and its also crashing against BTC.

In one of the other threads we had an interesting discussion with some guys, I wonder what you will say, as it directly concerns ETH.
With its current collapse (especially against BTC), the following makes any sense, no?

One might imagine the devastation of the effect that Tether can possibly bring by just taking a closer look at the BTC trading graphics/charts:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin/trading_exchanges#panel

33.3% of the trade will be the mere minimum that will be affected, and does yet not take into account the USD and Bitfinex (which are both tied to USDT in some sort) and the subsequent decline of as well Ethereum:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum/trading_exchanges#panel

Ethereum will be crippled if USDT fails, because not only is USDT entwined in 24.9% of all Ethereum trades, the effect is complementary to USDT affecting the underlying BTC price as well. ETH/BTC will drastically alter  when a run from tokens>eth>btc>fiat starts. Most ERC20 tokens might lose up most if not all their current value. Actually this drain of value from ERC20 tokens has been going on for some time already, very slowly, and with a subtle price pump now and then for the more "popular" tokens, to keep people believing in those ridiculous projects.

I think I'm going to buy 4 T9+.  I have 4 good coupons.

hashrate /price is good but require double the power.

I am also considering the T9's provided the price right now. What do you mean by double power? Aren't they the same power as S9, but just lower hash rate (and supposedly more stable).

Finally some news from the team, however I really hope they will turn out to be true. They have established a strategic partnership with one of the gaming industry’s leading blockchains, GE-Chain. GE-Chain’s 24/7 availability and powerful storage capabilities will provide supernodes for Metaverse by deploying Metaverse full nodes on the GE Treasure Chest.

Guys, do you plan to have a demo/beta/something regarding the product? Or it totally depends on the funds raising? If yes, how are you going to release a demo platform?

We wanted to check how much we are going to raise before we lay the foundations because we'd approach it differently if we have $300k and if we have let's say $1-2mil.

Looking how the crowdfund is going so far it looks like people do not trust us to make a success out of a $300k ICO. I understand we launched in a very bad period but the total lack of support is underwhelming. It is what it is. I am not sure if it is clear, but not hitting the first target means we are going to refund everything asap and not move forward with the project for the time being.

Well, at least you are completely transparent with any investors to claim that you will return the already invested funds. Times are indeed very dark right now, the majority is just interested in swing trading... having in mind the current volatility with downwards pattern. In any case, good luck with the project!

Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order
by
kobo_eth
on 23/03/2018, 14:08:01 UTC
Guys, I am confused  Huh

Antminer S9 14 TH/s batch is already sold out...like in 1 day.

What I don't get is why the demand is so high  Undecided

Look:

1) BTC is currently trading $8500
2) Antminer S9 14 TH/s price with APW3++ is $1864. With delivery costs and taxes that's about $2000
3) Antminer S9 currently produces about 0.001 BTC per day. That's 0,03 BTC per month. Taking into account difficulty growth Antminer S9 will produce during its life 0,03 BTC * (1 + Monthly difficulty growth) / Monthly difficulty growth (since its infinitely decreasing geometric progression)
4) Average monthly difficulty growth
- in 2017 was 17%
- in 1Q 2018 is 23%
5) So with let's say 18% monthly difficulty growth Antminer S9 will produce 0,03 BTC * (1 + 18%) / 18% = 0,197 BTC during its life
6) But now for the cost of equipment ($2000) you can buy $2000 / $8500 = 0,235 BTC

So you can get 0,235 BTC now or buy ASIC and get 0,197 BTC in like 2-3 years.

Whats the point? Why are people buying Mining equipment now?

Maybe I am wrong somewhere?

I don't account for transactions conformation fee. Is it large? How much in fees you get for one Antminer S9?

Per     Pool Fee           Est. Rewards   Rev. BTC   Rev. $   Cost            Profit

Month 0.000000   0.031014           0.031014   $259.15   $98.64    $160.51
Year     0.000000   0.377333           0.377333   $3,153.00   $1,200.12    $1,952.88

With 2k USD today you can buy 0.23770460 BTC and sell is when it raises with 1,952.88 usd so that you can be happy you got more than miners will ever do for an year Smiley

Everytime new Tethers are printed (I wish I could know when this happens), it seems that the Bitcoin price is going down.
It has happened every-time recently, so all the rumors that BTC is kept artificially up bu the "created out of thin air Tethers" might actually be true Sad

Why do you guys think that price decrease means they will release a new miner tomorrow? The prices of today almost match the prices of second half of last year before the huge spike in BTC price. BTC is now almost the same price as before the spike, so it makes sense.

S9+, S11 or whatever are just rumours, I doubt they will come up with something before the end of the year, plus if they are already testing a new machine internally we would notice a raise in global hash rate, no?

To the guy who a few pages back was absolutely sure that ETH at 500 USD is a perfect opportunity to buy in. So, did you get any when it dropped even less than 500 USD a few days ago, I am just curious?
i doubt that the current rise in price will hold for too long, so I am really not sure if 500 USD is the bottom for re-entlry (as I have already entered a few times before).
I bought in at 460$, the lowest low, which is awsome, and I doubt it will go lower then that, that's the lowest support level the market has found since pre 2018. With that said, market still has time for more downtrends before the bull market in the summer, so one of those might take it lower, but it's very unlikely to go much lower then 460$, especially the shorter the period is until the bull market starts, which gets less and less by each day.

I set an order on dsx at 446+   but the price bounced off 448+... such a stroke of misfortune.  Kid myself that my order has changed the trend.

Niiice, judging by the answers it seems that not only "one" guy bought at that level. Honestly I was expecting that BTC will reach the support level of 6000 USD from February thus bringing ETH down even further, but it seems that 7-8k is the boundary for BTC now. Anyway train missed this time, let's see what the volatile market will bring the upcoming weeks Smiley

The founder's money runs out, and the price of Litecoin is still high. This shows that LTC has gone out of its own development system.

What do you mean by "founder's money runs out" ? Hss Charlie Lee declared anything? I doubt so...
Also I don't think that LTC price is high at the moment, it is less than the middle of its ATH/

Don't you think that there is a reason why all the big players are banning crypto-related marketing? Google, Facebook, supposedly Twitter? I think they are just scared... of the crypto. It means that crypto is big now, if the biggest online players like the corporations above are afraid of and banning it Smiley
Personally for Twitter, I don't think they will ban it, it is just a nasty FUD.

This mt. gox idiot only cares about one thing. He alone is destroying everything.

It's not one 'idiot' and I doubt he is an idiot considering the amount of coin he has. Do you?

I would restrain from giving definitions to people who have risked a lot (obviously for this guy), then lost a lot and now trying to get some winnings.
For sure the guy is much smarter to exit while having something to exit, instead of just spending time on forums (like us) and uselessly posting "to the moon, this year, next year" etc etc etc

The sad truth is that the market is collapsing hard, so everyone needs to find a solution for himself/herself. Even the sadder truth is that crypto market is now so small, so tiny that only one guy like this mt. gox one can manipulate the entire market.
