why doesnt ethos have an swap memory? When I use command "top" there is no swap?!

We take very big efforts to reduce disk usage to prolong livespan of the SSD. Swap uses disk, and is not required for mining.

Same Questions please:
1. Does ethos supports dual/merged mining?
2. Sgminer can be used for zcash as well or only for eth?
3. Is sgminer already installed to ethos recent version?

Thanks for your efforts kotarius

1. Yes, you can can dual mine with claymore:

http://ethosdistro.com/kb/#adding-claymore : look at step 5

2. Our sgminer-gm installation is only for ETH. You can use claymore-zcash miner in ethOS to mine zcash.

3. Yes

I have a rig with RX380 and RX480 cards. Does this version of ethos support the different chipsets in the same rig? Thanks

There is no such thing as RX 380. There is, however, R9 380. Due to driver instability, you cannot mix R9 with RX series.

ethOS is a 64-bit linux OS that mines Ethereum, Zcash, Monero, and other GPU-minable coins. Altcoins can be autotraded to Bitcoin.

#ethosdistro on freenode.

There are 6500 total ethOS rigs currently mining.

Claymore, it is common to bump the version number for fixing issues.

It would be really helpful to the community if you called the memleak fix "12.2.1" or even "12.3"

Hello Claymore, we are releasing new ethOS version soon. At the time of release, we will include the fastest linux miner available. If it is Optiminer, it will be Optiminer. If it is Claymore, it will be Claymore.

We have 5000+ rigs on ethos, that means your mining fee will be the equivalent of 100 rigs. Will you release linux version soon? The choice is yours.

[WTS] gpuShack R9 280X (160 h/s on zcash) with Windows Claymore Miner
by
kotarius
on 18/11/2016, 22:13:34 UTC
The gpuShack R9 280X runs at approximately 180W.

http://gpushack.com/collections/gpushack/products/gpushack-r9-280x

The powerful modular fan upgrade allows for average operating temperature 10C colder compared to manufacturer stock fans. The modular fan uses 15+ watts, which is 10x more powerful (and louder) than manufacturer 1.5+ watt stock fans. Ideal for deployment for large-scale commercial uses.

Bitcoin accepted, shipping available to all countries.

This GPU can earn $1.79 USD equivalent per day in zcash (earnings will vary) according to this calculator: https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/zec

ethOS Project Expansion
October 28th, 2016
e·thos, noun: the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations.

Recently, many people have expressed interest in mining other digital currencies on ethOS (not just Ethereum). Since many ethOS users are not large-scale farmers, we have decided to expand the ethOS project scope to better serve all of our loyal customers.

To that effect, we will make the following changes to the ethOS project scope in the near immediate future:

Expand support for the current most profitable gpu-minable coin that has a market cap over $100,000,000 USD
Develop better tools for single-rig customers.
We will soon be adding support for a Zcash GPU mining program. Please note that Zcash's extremely new ecosystem demands special precautions;
we will not support any GPU mining program that unfairly rewards any particular developer, pool, or team, nor any that are unstable/non-stratum.

Single-rig ethOS users will be happy to hear about the new ethOS browser-based terminal, which will allow setup and configuration of ethOS rigs by connecting to their IP addresses via a regular computer web browser.

Both of these features will be rolled out in ethOS 1.1.3

As a special thanks to all ethOS users, the zcash GPU mining program (as all new features) will be provided free of charge to all existing ethOS customers. Furthermore, we will not take any fees from any GPU mining program running on ethOS.
