We have updated our ticker to XBI
Please upgrade your wallets to v3.0.7.0 by block 50,000

With the new XBI wallet that also means that the standard data directory has changed to .XBI, which makes upgrading to the latest wallet a bit of a hassle. All info would need to be copied and the btci.conf renamed to xbi.conf, I assume...

Urgent Mandatory Update Version 2.7

Dear Solaris Community,

The Solaris blockchain has suffered a stuck block after the switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.

We believe this was caused by a number of reasons, but primarily the network was not fully stable and some large wallets caused the difficulty to spike, causing network instability and anomalies with connected nodes. In turn, this has caused a domino effect of a number of staking wallets forking away and most wallets being out of sync, leaving little to no active staking nodes with mature coins on secure the network.

We are releasing a mandatory update to fix the stuck chain, stabilize the network and return the XLR chain to an operating state.

Wallet download here

Wallet staking guide

Masternode Update to 2.7.0.0 guide

Mac OS Wallet will be compiled released within a couple of days. Apologies about any inconveniences.

Reward System Change

Seesaw mechanism has been identified as one of the primary causes for multiple wallets forking to a wrong chain during the change to Proof of Stake. After investigating this issue further, and learning that Pivx themselves are removing SeeSaw algorithm in their next update for multiple reasons, core team has made a decision to remove Seesaw mechanism from Solaris also.

After careful deliberation, examining the masternode trend until the PoS switch and taking community feedback on-board, the team has agreed to set forth 20%/80% reward split between stakers and masternodes respectively. We believe this is a fair reward split, as Solaris network is mature enough to support Masternodes while rewarding smaller stakers with more frequent rewards.

New block reward split will be:

20% Stakers / 80% Masternodes

If Budget Proposal is Active:

15% Stakers / 75% Masternodes / 10% budget system

Zerocoin Protocol Activation

Zerocoin Protocol activation which was scheduled for tomorrow, 18th of April, has also been included in this wallet version.

Please update your local wallets and masternodes as soon as possible!

Thank you for support Solaris !

I guess the Mac wallet is still building. Seems to be missing in the release list.

After encrypting my Mac wallet 2.5.0.1 (high sierra version), the wallet doesn't start anymore and launches with this:

Code:
$ ./crave-qt
Segmentation fault: 11

Any idea how I could solve this? Or how I could revert to an unencrypted wallet?

Solaris Funded Project

http://i66.tinypic.com/ra6l4g.jpg

Solaris is proud to announce a long-term plan of funding to build a next generation exchange, txbit.io

txbit.io will support all major cryptocurrencies, altcoins and digital assets (tokens). With a focus on modern stack of technologies our expert team are set to build a fast, secure, reliable, scalable and private exchange for the global crypto market.

The Goal

The aim is simple; remove unnecessary burden from the everyday trader, while ensuring the utmost security of every users funds. Exchanges are getting slower everyday, registrations open and close due to inability to cope with traffic, deposits and withdrawals get delayed. All of these problems are trivial, yet every exchange suffers from them.

At current level of competition it seems like exchanges should be thriving, but they succumb under pressure. Cryptocurrency exchanges currently make for multiple 100’s billion market, but we have found that even the largest of exchanges lack the technology and social framework needed to satisfy the constantly changing needs of their users.

Solaris Involvement

Solaris is directly funding the development cost of txbit.io from the development fund. Please take note, this does not affect other plans for Solaris highlighted in the Roadmap, instead we see it as an important stepping stone to making Solaris XLR an active and popular currency.

Solaris holders will greatly benefit from the launch of txbit for multiple reasons:

1. Masternode holders will be able to link their Masternodes to the txbit account which will grant them a percentage Exchange Trading Fees as dividends paid directly to the txbit account.

2. Users will be able to Stake their XLR on txbit and also receive a percentage of the Exchange Trading Fees as dividends paid directly to the txbit account.

3. Solaris XLR will be a Base Market paired against popular cryptocurrencies and tokens. As trade volume will increase for XLR, more pairings will be added to the market.

The exact details on dividend payments will be provided at a later date.

txbit.io exchange will be funded from the Solaris development fund, held in escrow by Dabs.The development of txbit.io exchange does not change any plans for Solaris and the core team is not changing course on any of the plans for 2018.

Periodic updates will be provided on a regular basis

Features and Innovations

Modern responsive HTML5 web interface
Secured with 2 factor authentication
Live streaming price information
Support for mobile devices
Ultra fast proprietary trading engine
Immediate deposits and withdrawals
Json REST API
Coin dice feature
Fast loading and searchable balance view
Multi language (EN / RU / CN)
Scalable native cloud stack
Secure cold/hot wallet implementation
Bitcoin / Ethereum / Solaris base markets
Advanced DDoS protection
Referral program
Active support team
New coins voting
Live chatting
TLS / SSL

Thank you for support Solaris  !

I would recommend establishing such an exchange as a DECENTRALIZED exchange, similar to EtherDelta for example. Just needs to have a really nice UI/UX and dead simple to use.

But decentralized is the key here. Otherwise administrative work will take up most of the time to ensure you're always on the legal side. That's just something that won't go away if you are holding funds (=coins/tokens) in a custodian way.

Hey dev,

I am getting this when starting the solaris-qt linux binary:

Code:
solaris-qt: main.cpp:3055: bool ConnectBlock(const CBlock&, CValidationState&, CBlockIndex*, CCoinsViewCache&, bool, bool): Assertion `hashPrevBlock == view.GetBestBlock()' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

It's wallet 2.3.2.0 and it worked fine yesterday.

Any ideas?

DO NOT add any addnodes

Try this "through the window" method.
That is what i used and it worked for me.
It can be likened to re-syncing and re-indexing.

Close your Solaris-qt
Open your AppData/Roaming/Solaris  then delete all EXCEPT for

    wallet.dat
    masternode.conf
    solaris.conf

Then restart your wallet (launch only the version 2.3.2.0)

I'm on Linux, but thanks. I will give that a try.

Seems to have somehow worked. The wallet starts up now. Obviously, the chain is gone, so it needs to re-sync. Yet, now it is not getting any node connection. Just keeps saying "No block source available...".

Do you have an idea what that might be?

Do you have the same addnode in file solaris.conf?
addnode=78.145.45.173
addnode=92.108.70.246
addnode=89.169.62.37
addnode=89.65.73.101

addnode=151.236.217.178:60020
addnode=139.162.153.247:60020

No. I removed all the addnode= entries because someone in this forum said a few days ago that they're not needed anymore as the wallet comes with seed nodes already.

Was that wrong?

I don't know if a negative signal had people selling XLR and initiated a trend, but if people are closing their masternodes and selling their coins, and that is causing the downward trend, that would be utter ly moronic.

If there are less MN then there will be more MN rewards coming to the remaining MNs that are still running. Smiley

READ ATLEAST 2 POSTS PRIOR TO YOUR OWN BEFORE REPEATING THE SAME DAMN QUESTION

So what do you mean?

I've read the last 5 pages. Still don't know what to do now as I have the latest version 2.3.1 which was an update fix to the mandatory update 2.3.0.

So ... no need to be rude.

Re: What does an ICO need to be successful?

Any ICO can look slick and do marketing well enough to create a buzz. You can make a buzz about a nonexistent company, with the right resources.. it's easy. But ICO's can and should become a long term investment, and if you intend on keeping the token for a while.. you need to choose an ICO that has a solid plan for the future, that is transparent and has a great team. An ICO needs everything any other company needs to be successful, it's not about the actual token sale. It's about the project's future

It surely is.

I've seen some ICOs that have met that criteria, but in the end they still went under because their story was fraud or the team could not execute in the end.

Almost all ICOs have deep blockchain-technology in their product as part of the ICO Whitepaper.

How important is that to you?

I.e. Would an ICO be interesting if the blockchain-tech part is there, but not as "revolutionary" as it is with other ICOs; yet the business case for the company running the ICO is rock solid?

Is bitconnect staking a scam or fake?

I have matured coins in my wallet for 3 days now. Since then it says "Staking." but nothing happens.

3 days ago it said: "Expected time to earn reward 1 day."
2 days ago it said: "Expected time to earn reward 12 hours."
1 day ago it said: "Expected time to earn reward 17 hours."
Today it says: "Expected time to earn reward 9 hours."

No stake has been credited so far. Wallet is up-to-date.

Can someone explain this?

How many coins do you have in the wallet?

5.7

Not enough coins. If you get lucky you get some but not enough weight to the network.

Is that explained somewhere? The website doesn't explain anything about weight and whatnot.
5.7 coins is NOTHING for PoS mining. You need 5700 coins in wallet, divided to 200-300 coins each input to work PoS mining quickly. Go to exchange, buy more BCC, transfer to wallet in transactions of 200-300 coins and wait for your luck. Maybe in 1-2 month you start earn  PoS blocks.

Wow, thanks for the info. That stuff is not stated anywhere. Believe me, I've been searching for it Smiley

So it's better for me to just sell it all off and move these few bucks into something else. It's not worth the trouble ...
