Re: How long this crisis will be?
by

Difficult to determine, the most affected district in China is open again. Now, the world is waiting for them to come and give the vaccine, antidote and any help that will solve this crisis quickly.

Not sure how many people are going to trust a vaccine imported from China. Other drugs are different because you can do chemical tests to determine what they contain but I think vaccines are a little different. There's still a chance also that Europe will come up with some sort of vaccine before the end of this... (I'm not versed in licensing laws they may have to trial it in every customs area).

This is true, If I am the one to decide I don't think that I would trust the vaccine from the China, but on the other part of me, it would be a big help. There are a lot of confirmed patients that were recovered from China, and the vaccine that they use might help us. Some of the countries are still formulating a solution to this and hoping that it will be soon.

I am on the belief that this is not going to be as bad and long-lasting as those other crises in the past years and decades. We are certainly more advanced now. I am sure the vaccine is coming, and this calamity we are facing right now will significantly die down within the second quarter of this year.

I guess the primary reason why the virus is spreading very fast is that people are hard-headed. People lack the urgency. People underestimated this virus early on. We are now caught in the middle of this by surprise and finally begun to realize how grave this goes only when the situation is already growing worse.

I agree with the first half of that definitely. Gone are the days where if one member of the family got sick the rest of the family got sick too.
I have travelled from one densely populated area to another over the past week (I S.I.d in the first place for about 2 weeks before moving as to not transport the virus and generally live a life social distancing anyway). But both places seemed to be taking the virus pretty seriously and both were fairly empty. Even police have moved away from the area too in order to assist with other tasks.
[/quote]

Yes, absolutely. For now this is not the worst case of pandemic. I did researched worst 10 pandemic in the history and then I found out that Covid-19 is not the worst.

https://www.mphonline.org/worst-pandemics-in-history/

And true, one of the reason why this virus is wildly spreading is because of the people. Most of them have pride where they think they won't get the virus because they have strong immune system but that's wrong because this virus could travel from 1 person to 14 person in one contact. And now most of the countries imposed lockdown or quarantine, so we all have to do is to stay at home and help our country to fight against COVID-19. And lastly, no one knows when this crisis will end probably 5 months or after a year.

Hello every body.I am a Newbie. I joined Crytopia about four months ago. I hold ont and dog Now I want to practice to trade .Please help me give some idea for Newbie as me, I should trade or not? I really want to receive the instruction of the go-ahead, thank a lots.  Kiss Kiss

Before you step into real trading I would use one of the many demo sites that are available.  You can practice with "play money" before you step into the deep end with real money.

The biggest tip I can give you is be patient.  Don't fall for the sudden spikes and keep low buy orders just in case the price experiences a flash crash.  Honestly though, it's very difficult to make consistent profit trading and not many people can do it.

True, well but if you want it go for it. Anybody can trade but not anyone knows how to do it properly with some build up strategies. For now, you should know the basics of trading, you should understand and learn how it works. There's a lot of sources where you can learn like Youtube, it will be a big help for you as a beginner. Also after learning the basics make sure that you have jump to market risks, it is a must to know these stuffs for a good trading. You can try it with small amount and observe what will happen so that it will serve as your guide to your next trade, you will have enough knowledge and experience to it and someday you can create your own strategies and become a full time trader.

Almost all the sports have been postponed. There is no matches left for betting on sports. What are gamblers(sports) doing exactly now? I know it is very boring days. Locked down in home, no matches to gamble. Are you switching to other casino?
we found chance to play cards 3x a week now me and friends since we love playing in real games and only sometimes letting Online games .

we play Poker,BlackJack and even our local Card games just to satisfy our desire and because we have missed this Bonding because we are very busy in work and personal things before this Quarantine happens.

Same! I just play online poker but no real money included to save my funds for this lockdown. So there's a lot of games on Play store/Appstore where you can install online games for free for your pass time. Also my family and I watched movies every single day like we almost done with Netflix series, and I also read books and some articles about the COVID-19. Staying at home for half month was really boring but fortunately I have time to bond with my family unlike before, somehow I did enjoy staying at home than going outside and get virus which definitely kill me. Probably after this quarantine, gonna invite my friends and play poker and watch some poker tournaments.

As someone who owns a printing business near academe and universities, I am one with those who are slowly losing money as days go by. It was such an unfortunate event for everyone, not only businessmen who are losing thousands or millions with the current pandemic, but no one really wanted this to happen in the first place. Even though I am losing money, as an immunologist myself, I still dedicated my time, effort and knowledge with the cause, and am volunteering to help prevent the virus to further spread. Working 16 hours a day without getting paid, I only wanted to see the eradication of this virus--or to at least control its spread and help get the normal lives of people back. Sure, a few months without profit may hurt the bank, then again I still have some bitcoins to spare if the going gets really rough.

To those of you who are losing money due to the current market conditions, this is not the end of the world. Some have lost their loved ones, some are contracting the disease and others still don't have anything to feed themselves but are still out there in the midst of the outbreak. Don't give up, and continue to power through. It's just a bad month, and it's not as if we haven't seen the worse days on the past years anyway.

Yes, true. For those people who are indeed worried about the losses keep your mind positive. In this kind of market you are in, it is very unpredictable to tell whether when there will be a decrease or increase of rates because that's how bitcoin works. Before entering this kind of investment, make sure that you have understand and learn how this market worked. All of us here are worried but don't let your emotions drown you for what happened I know it's tough but soon will be better. Unfortunately, this virus did affect bitcoin but it will not be the end of it, it doesn't mean that it will continuously going down. Just remember, always expect things like these positive or negative cause if it's meant to happen it will happen.

How can we help right now? If thete would be some fundraising that will happen in this forum that may help the community then let me know in order for me to help also for those person that are rally in need.
I also want to help my fellow people in order for them to have some goods also that may able to last them until the virus will ends. I hope everyone is doing good and staying at home so that there will be lessen the number of infected on the country that you guys are belong.

A good thing to do for now is to stay at home, remind your family to keep your house clean, your body and your thoughts. Don't panic and pray for healing for the victims of COVID-19 also for everything to be back to normal. Helping others especially the poor people would be a nice move but how? You can lead a charity or fundraising with the help of your friends and family. Donate some food like can goods, water, and noodles or even just donate directly to your government so that they will be the one to allocate your donations and it's a good thing you don't have to go outside.

Sadly, the virus is still rapidly spreading which result to hundreds or even thousands of people being affected. Everyday the number of cases is increasing so better stay at home, understand and listen to the government's advisories so that everyone of us is updated. Also, if you want to donate some btc, do it don't hesitate it would be a big help to others.

Re: Ways in which you can promote bitcoin.
by
kpllvd
on 26/03/2020, 05:43:53 UTC
That is a great video and also in that way it can help to promote Bitcoin. Let me innumerate it here the list of what are those ways to promote Bitcoin that stated in your video.

  • Personal conversations through friends, colleagues, siblings and etc.
  • Holding/conducting a seminar
  • Writing articles such as blogs
  • Making memes, stickers and giphy
  • Making Videos

Yes, there are a lot of ways to promote Bitcoin but it doesn't mean they will easily learn with it. It will probably take time for them to understand very well how Bitcoin works. Explaining to people about Bitcoin without technical knowledge to understand how it will work is not easy for them to absorb in their minds.

I did two if these. I've made some memes and talked to my friends and relatives about Bitcoin. I don't know about the first one since Bitcoin memes don't strike me as something universal which people who aren't already into cryptos would get or even notice. As for talking, I managed to introduce Bitcoin to about five people that actually started using it because of me, but they are most likely not into that anymore...
I think that personal promotion cannot do much but the presence of Bitcoin in TV shows can make wide audience somewhat curious about it.

Yay! These are indeed helpful. A few of  my friends create memes which I personally love the idea, because it attracts different people. Videos, articles and seminar is also a good way to promote Bitcoin but i highly suggest that you use Youtube as your platform for vlogs with bitcoin as your content. A lot of people visits Youtube so it has a higher chance of being seen. Promoters should have enough knowledge and understanding about bitcoin so every question will be answered for it to be considered as a good promotion. I do tried to talk to my friends about these stuff when we're hanging out and they always show interest, which boost my confidence to share it to other people too. Well, promoting bitcoin is easy if you are willing to advertise it to others using different platforms.

...then you should start investing and start generating your passive income that can give you stream of cash flow every months without working,..

Easier been said than done.

People already know this and some are already working on it. However, it's not that simple and people can just start right away as we are living in different life standards. And even some already owned an investment, working will not stop there. They still have to manage it along the way.

Investment is not a joke and to start it just to hope for a literal passive income isn't a good idea for me. People should invest to have a stable and regular source of income and not to rely on passive ones. Of course, it needs works but it's happy to work on something that we owned that generates a regular and good revenue. The effort and time spent is worth it.

You are right, easier said than done. Also, passive income most of the time ended up not really passive as along the way, it stops for no reason. I don't believe in passive income as there are so many factors that will contribute to sustain its lifespan. And if one factor is not working, the chain would be derailed and goodbye to passive income that you are waiting for. And in terms of investment, not all people are lucky with this area. It takes a lot of experience and skill to get positive results from this.

Investment is a good start and good choice in life, it will make your money moving. If one is planning make sure to know the basics and understand the pros and cons of this. Also consider when you quit job where will you get regular income for daily expenses because investment took years or months to grow.

Also true, indeed passive income is a big help but do not settle to it because it is not a stable source of money and yes sometimes can be also unpredictable where they will stop from giving you income. For me, it's very tough to quit job for unpredictable investment, no one knows what will be the result of it, it could be good or bad. Maybe just invest on bitcoin but don't quit your job. Either way it is your choice.

Re: Trading vs. Investing.
by

on 25/03/2020, 10:21:31 UTC
Both investors and traders earn money through the help of the market.

It is true that it generated a lot of profit from the investors and the traders but I don't agree with this line.

The market has nothing to help these investors and traders. They are the reason they generated this money or profit they have. With the knowledge they had, they received that well-deserved profit. As you said, there are a lot of ways to earn money and the market is not the one making these opportunities but the investors and traders themselves.

I disagree with you that the market has noting to help investors and traders - I think they do it just depends on how you want to use it to your own benefit, thats the hard part but once you crack it both can help you generate profit.

It's all a matter of knowing what to take and when to take it!

Trading and investing are two different strategy to make your money grow. For trading, it involves short term strategy and have a chance on making higher profits but risky. While investing on the other hand, is long term strategy that works on buy and hold approach less risky than trading. Both trading and investing have different pros and cons but have the same goal which is to gain or make more money. The market is involve in the growth for every traders and investors, the market serves as the bridge where interactions and opportunities takes place. And I highly advice that either you choose trading or investing make sure to research and understand well the methods before engaging to it for less risks and problems.

Where is the best place to watch cryptocurrency courses from phone?
thanks
I guess it depends on your level of knowledge and what you want to learn as well as the format. Crypto online courses don't seem to be particularly popular. However, Coursera offers a range of Bitcoin-related courses, actually, which you can see here. I think that YouTube videos, this forum, and articles are enough to get a general idea and be up-to-date on what's happening in the world that might have an impact or is directly related to Bitcoin. I think that for intro level top-5 by relevance on Youtube is quite okay. There's also Bitcoin wiki and Investopedia. Good luck!

Yes, it depends on what they need to learn but I prefer Youtube as a learning platform for cryptocurrencies. It's so much easier to access than any sources, there's a lot of teaching from basic to deep learning. These are called Vlogs, video articles and animation where they show the merits, benefits, ways to earn and interest even how to trade in a cryptomarket. There are many vloggers that create contents like this and have enough knowledge to share to the beginners or senior in Bitcoin. All of the tutorials or courses there are very helpful and useful.

Also to add up if you want more sources I found some sites where teaches crypto which are very useful like:

Re: Ways to recover from being addicted in gambling.
by
kpllvd
on 24/03/2020, 12:56:34 UTC
There are so many gamblers in this virtual world or even in the real life, there are some that can be considered as a compulsive gambler or those really addicted in gambling. That is the worst thing that you may acquire in gambling, in which that all the things that you are usually doing are now nothing, you are only focused on gambling, even your relationships on your friends and family are affected.

I want to help those people who really abused by the gambling, let me list down all possible solution that they may use to recover from being addicted in gambling.
1. Focus on your family or friends - if you have strong relationship with your family and friends then you will forget to play gambling, and they may help you to limit yourself from gambling.
2. List all things that were affected by gambling - if you can see all the things that were affected because of gambling then you may realize that it has no goods to give you, then I hope that it makes you think to stop gambling.
3. Read and Search about gambling addiction - if you can see all people that have been affected because of gambling then you may stop from being addicted on it, there are some people's life that already destroyed because of gambling.
4. Meet and visit experts or professionals about mental health - If you really want to limit yourself from gambling, but you can't then you may visit some experts and listen to their advise.

Very well said mate, there are a lot of ways for you to recover yourself from being addicted in gambling, and on of the best way that you have said is focusing on your family or friends, if you have strong connection on your family and friends, then I don;t think that you will find gambling anymore, if you are gambling because of entertainment, then your friends and your family can give it to you more than gambling can give to you. But if you are gambling because you want to earn money, then you better stop it because there is a little chance of winning any gambling sites, because the one who win in gambling site is the owner of the websites.
Indeed, actually that is the first thing that came in my mind when talking about recovering from being addicted in gambling, Your friends and your family is a big help for you. You can find happiness in your family and friends compared to gambling, because you will only be happy if you win the game, but actually that is really impossible because it is really hard to win in gambling. Only the owners are the winners in different gambling sites. but have you ever thought that your family and your friends won't help you if you are really into gambling? if that is the case then I think those professionals are the one that is the best to meet and acquire some advice from them.

Absolutely true, it is not easy to recover from addiction like in Gambling but there's always a way to get out of it such as your family. Make them your priority and focus to forget the mistakes you have done. But also i will just add some tips, addiction is not easy, one you could possibly do is to minimize the money you use in Gambling until you no longer do gamble. Also, let go to the past losses like money, this is one of the important thing to do when recovering from addiction. Money can cause you big problems financially and mentally, money will always come and go, you can earn it anytime because the more time you worry about it the more you are drown to the thought of it and will cause you anxiety or depression even more. Successful recovery will be effective if you are willing to help yourself in the first place.

Bitcoin is trading above $5000 and many people are losing hope. If I have $500 million, this is the opportunity to buy as much bitcoins as possible.
https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/bitcoins-identity-crisis-pronounced-as-coin-market-bled/
Well, everyone dreams to be rich, that is why we are here in this forum, that is why we need to get more knowledge because we all want to use it in our future to be rich, having a $500 million is so big, that is really a huge amount money and I think if you already have that, you won't mind selling and buying bitcoins because you already have money. You won't waste your time observing the money before trading because it will be a waste of time for you.

To be honest, I would be more in love with this life if I am rich. If i have a $500 million i still want to invest some of it to bitcoin why? because it is a good investment. You are not born that everyday you woke up there will be additional money that will come to you so better think of what investments are worth  it. I personally enjoy the market i have now even though it is unpredictable. The fact that everyone wants to be rich but don't know how, The world we're in is not a magical world where in just a snap you'll be a millionaire but in reality in just a snap you can be a poor. If we have a chance better use it in a good manner and good investment such as business and bitcoin.

Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler?
by
kpllvd
on 24/03/2020, 04:22:47 UTC
Cry This is my personal experience: I am a gambler who loves gambling mostly on sports betting and have had series of experiences which some a positive and others negative but for the purpose of this thread; I am going to talk about my negative experience.

Just a few days ago, the government of my country made an announcement about stay at a home policy which made me get boredom. During these few days, I have been involved actively in gambling mainly on virtual sports betting which I have lost beyond my imagination.

At first, I lost a whopping sum of #30,000 (NGN) in a local currency, I played some games and won with some good profits which I used to Carter for the family but went the next day to meet my Waterloo during which I lost the said amount. This has affected me and caused me a sleepless night because the said money wasn't for me but the entire family for upkeep during this trial moment. I am regretting my loss because the remaining members of the family aren't aware of this loss. This has not happened to me before now until this compulsory self quarantine from the government.

To my co-gamblers: these days are tempting, ensure to be more careful with your savings and "never gamble what you can't afford to lose"

If this happens to me I will also lose sleep, because the worst thing that could possibly happen to you is to lose in gambling when you badly need money or if you win then lose the next day and you even lose more money, this is very depressing even if you have all the time in the world in your home  in this crisis you should minimize your money that you allocated in gambling sites.

Unhealthy Gambling may result to greater sleep difficulties. The possible result is having sleeping issues such as insomnia. If a person do gamble and they become addicted to it, it means they lose their control and can cause problems. Your personal experiences were just a lesson of how too much Gambling will cause you. Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which you'll have problem falling asleep, some of the reason of having it are anxiety, stress and depression where everyone could possibly feel especially in Gambling. It is very obvious that Gambling did cause difficulties in sleeping.

Yes, Gambling is fun and the thought of probability of winning is overwhelming but not all the time you will win because there's also bad sides of it where you can lose the money you have. Before doing so, you should have thought about the loss and also to have money management and limit for less risks. If you have a great self-control, sleeping difficulties after gambling will not affect you at all.

Re: Age restriction in gambling
by
kpllvd
on 23/03/2020, 12:50:42 UTC
Have you known that there is an age restriction in gambling? But it is varied among the countries in the world. I have just checked in wikipedia that commonly someone can play gambling starting from the age of 15/16/18/19/20/21 years. It depends on where he lives, every country may have different regulation related to the age restriction. Below I classify some countries based on the age restriction:

Age 5: Malawi (Casino)

Age 15: Iceland (lottery)

Age 16: United Kingdom (Football pool, Scratchcards), Estonia (other), New Zealand (instant kiwi)

Age 18: Australia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand (horse racing), Palau, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vanuatu, Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, etc

Age 19: South Korea, Canada, USA

Age 20: New Zealand (Casino), Sweden (Casino), Japan, Nigeria

Age 21: Belgium, Estonia (Casino), Armenia, India, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines (casino), Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Namibia, Niger (casino), Bahamas, Saint Kitts and Nevis, US Virgin Islands (casino), USA, Macau

Age 23: Greece

Source & more detail information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambling_age#cite_note-27
is this serious?that Malawi is allowing their Children to Play in Casino as in?does the child has their own money to spend for?
the 15-16 from Iceland and UK is tolerable because as i remember i learn gambling at that age but 5?seems very unreasonable to allow to play in CASINO.
That was shocking I didn't know that there would be a place that would allow a 5 year old child to gamble.
I also agree that at teenage year it is tolerable since I think gambling would be one of our way to have fun and excitement.
I remember that I started to gamble at early age maybe around 12 because of basketball.
But to be able to gamble at casino at an early age I don't really think that it would be a good idea.

Well, At the age of 5 in Malawi they are allowed to gamble which may result to early addiction. If the country permits this, all we can do is to guide the young ones of what they are doing and what are the impacts of it. Each country has there own rules and regulations, legal age for gambling may vary place to place. Age Restrictions is a must on Gambling, with regards to young adults like 18 years old, they are not kids anymore they are now accepted and responsible or have control over their actions. This is the reality that we should know from the first place, anything is possible if one permits it.

Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ?
by

on 23/03/2020, 10:07:15 UTC
Bitcoin is definitely not doomed, for some reason Bitcoin helps a lot of people and gave financial freedom. Many people are affected due to COVID-19 but most of them are looking for a way to earn additional money through online. Let's take this opportunity to publicize the benefits of bitcoin instead saying that bitcoin is doomed. And it is normal for crypto to go up and down, the real deal is about to come.

Bitcoin is still not dead (c) Pomp
I believe that everything will recover in the future. Keep halving in mind

Yes, Bitcoin will certainly recover after the pandemic. A lot of people keep saying negatives about bitcoin without even looking to it's bright side. The more we engage to Bitcoin the more it will help us, we can say that the rates are unpredictable today it's decreasing and later on will probably increase.

As the famous saying goes
"If it doesn't move up and down, then it's not alive" ~ Author: Unknown

The same applies to Bitcoin. The up and down movements are more than normal for a healthy market and we would be fools to think bitcoin is doomed just because it moved back to 5K

This is a good point. People tend to hate what they don't understand that is why they keep saying that bitcoin is dead. If you truly understand the market you are in, it will be normal for you if there are changes. The situation we have has a big impact to the cryptocurrencies but that is not the end and will never be the end of it because the fact that Bitcoin is uncontrollably known is a big start for a new opportunity.

Re: is this the best time to teach about bitcoin?
by
kpllvd
on 23/03/2020, 08:56:53 UTC
we are now in the time of crisis due to coronavirus pandemic
almost everyone is just staying at home because of community quarantine and many companies already announce their stop-work order
i think this is the best time to teach people about bitcoin and get some potential new investor or holder in the future
but the big question is HOW?

many people are looking for a way to earn online but afraid to touch bitcoin
because of the rapid change in price and it's not newbie friendly anymore
but it will not be the same if there is some way to try it first without spending at the start
im also one of those who have doubt about bitcoin at the start
but because there is some way to earn it i have some time to learn it little by little until i realized the potential of bitcoin

that's why im looking idea how i can make people get into bitcoin without spending a single cent at the start
because i think one of the reasons why bitcoin is not gaining interest unlike before because it's not newbie friendly anymore
if we will compare in the past there is not a lot of faucets available now
even the signature campaign is not newbie friendly
they can join is some bounty in altcoin section with a high risk to get scam

if you have some opinion just let me know
Keep Safe Everyone Thanks  Grin

It is indeed a strategical move to encourage and teach people about Bitcoin at this moment. This pandemic, although resulted a massive destruction in people's lives, it became an awakening and an opportunity to reflect on our way of life and how we choose to spend it. During this period, where people are always at home, and their activities are dependent on digital technology such as online classes, work from home and even banking is done online, people are most likely to be  open in being enlightened about Bitcoin. Thus, it is good to make use of different available platforms online in order to pique interests of people in learning and engaging with Bitcoin.

Yes, but if someone is willing to learn about Bitcoin it means it is the right time to teach them. In times like this, Coronavirus is rapidly spreading, the people will be more hesitant to use hard cash to buy anything or pay bills. People are trying to find ways to earn money while staying at home now that the government imposed quarantine or lockdown in different countries. It is good to promote or advertise the use of cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin to people while expecting that this will be globally accepted and adopted in the future. There are a lot of platforms like google and youtube to teach Bitcoin where it discusses the interest, benefits, way to earn and merits and to be honest I personally watched videos on youtube in my first time and it helps alot. It will widen your perspective and open an opportunity to engage more on Bitcoin but make sure to discuss and understand the risk and volatility of it.

To sum it up, Anytime and anywhere you can teach or learn Bitcoin even in a situation like this.
