Sometimes life will teach us the best lesson in a hard way and you just learned it, congratulation. Anyway, i feel bad of your investments too maybe it's not right to act upon on your own when you are just a newbie. It is always helpful if someone would train and taught us how to trade, so you have to get a mentor if you want to.
Due to people's demand and supply and fork, i believe that this was the main reason but today you really can't tell if you will gain by this price compared to the transaction fees itself? It was insane for a small transaction to pay almost half of it.
I don't think it will going to happen because not all of the people know what Bitcoin is and not everyone knows how to use the computer. If you compare banks and Bitcoin they were the opposite of each other so why make banks disappear?
I've looked the price of it on coinmarketcap and the price is $16.53 compared to the price were you first posted this thread and it is rising. How come that more people are still buying this?
Due to people's demand i think you know who's top in the marketcap and electroneum will not going to beat bitcoin in the long run. Many altcoins are trying to but they always fail because people are still sticking on bitcoin.
Don't worry it's not falling since its fall 3 days ago, everything is just a temporary problem you might wanna chill it out and read all the news on the internet or here which more people know how to speculate.

Yes, in future,it will now bitcoin is not yet so very stable unlike cash, and it is not yet easy to replace it.So I am planning on putting 500 euros on Eth and Btc each(1000 in total) to hold for long term. Is it a bad time to invest in those crypto-currencies?
Many people will say it's a bad time right now to invest in Bitcoin because it just hit a new all time high today ($6400) and Ethereum just gain a little bit on value, but for me if you are going to invest and hold it for long term, you should do it as soon as possible and don't wait for the right time, it is always the right time for long term Bitcoin investment because more and more people and business are adopting Bitcoin right now. I'm not a big fan of Ethereum but I also put some money on it for long term.Just recently got into BTC; I have 2.5 saved up.
Plan on taking 25% of each of my paychecks and accumulating and seeing what will happen in 2017 or later in the year.

I am not sure what to think in this moment. Price of bitcoin went a bit more down than i expected, to be honest not just a bit a lot more than i expected. But it is always good to have some bitcoins saved, because it will pay off in time. Your way of dealing with bitcoin seams ok, you take money from fluctuation of price, and that is good. Till now i have thought that price of bitcoin will hit 3000 dollars till the end of thins month, but now i am not sure.
