Since Bitcointalk is soooo crypto stoneage going back to 2014 - 2016 and almost noone uses it anymore anyway, I'll just leave it at that and invite anyone interested to get info more on Verus discord.

Now you take that memorized software knowledge and don't show up for a while. Because when I come back you won't have an answer.

Note: I definitely know who this Puzzle maker is. There are also proofs of this. But I don't want to share anything with you about this. Because you are not a good person. You are selfish, only thinking about your own pocket.

A note to the puzzle creator: MM - 1991 (only he understands this.)

I am intrigued- surely love a crispy mystery ... also I think there is high likelihood of this coming out sooner or later - probably rather later, but someone cooked up a really interesting riddle!
Alas, no time and resources to participate myself, but it beats other spectator sports for sure!  Cool

Apologies if this has been addressed yet -
did anyone follow upwards to where these coins came from?

If this is mentioned earlier already, can someone maybe please just bump me there?

I have not read the full thread yet, and will catch up on this over the next few days.

In the meantime, I can't refrain from mentioning that there is an impressive number of privacy oriented projects in the crypto space, which is the way to go.

Currently I am wondering if this is a forum for a real discussion or if there are Maxi Mullahs already adapting their heresy Fatwahs against all the is not BTCBTC that may appear in the discussion...

If you imported your wallet and you saw your transaction, try different servers until you find a one that doesn't have your transaction in its mempool.
If your transaction status changed to local, right click on it and select "Remove".

As suggested by o_e_l_e_o, import your private key and sign your transaction on an air-gapped device.

Thank You, I will try that!

Thanks for the comments - we will see how it plays out.
viabtc offers to 'rectify' the situation for just ~0.09 BTC and I am not quite willing to pay for that.

I am using a coin-specific multiwallet that does not have much fee control- but this would have happened with any wallet I guess,
because the culprit is the incoming TX.

I guess electrum or bitcoin core would have displayed the pending dust TX, but that also can be overlooked.

What weird behaviour, I seem to remember that the dust attacks from 2 or 3 years ago were allegedly done as some kind of marketing gimmick.
I just hope it gets dropped from the mempool sooner or later...

I have a TX stuck, and seems the culprit is an INCOMING TX I got to my Komodowallet.
I was not aware of this incoming TX and spent an output that depends on that mysterious input.
So my TX has 18vBute/Sat which is ok, but this weird 860 Sat TX that has a large size a fee of 6 Sat/ vByte and is unconfirmed.
I have no idea where this is from, but here it is:

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/95e315f00b48201655877d8d86817748fe32b1d7d339c5a334dac28328a4c939

so this TX has 79 receivers that all got 860 Sat and 6 Sat per Byte, and has been stuck for 3 days now.
Effectively blocking 79 addresses with expenditure of

0.00068022BTC (17.62USD) and Transaction fee 0.00018345BTC (4.75USD)

...
fun fact: I tried

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/95e315f00b48201655877d8d86817748fe32b1d7d339c5a334dac28328a4c939

and the free servcie did not work bcs TX too large, and the paid sevrice.....
came up with a price tag of ..... 0.09BTC !!!!! $2100 to accelerate this TX!

Can anyone make anything of this? Is this some kind of mapping attack with dust (like cpl years ago),
Or is it a sabotage attempt to block as many wallets as possible?
Anybody else finding themselves in this trap?
This appears rather sinister...

Because as a matter of fact, my TX as well as the rest of the funds in my wallet now seem to be effectively frozen...

if this is is not the right place for this, please direct me there - I tried to find anything about this but did not see anything about it

I have been using electrum python (old 3.x.y version) and Appimage on Linux, lately the Appimage of 4.1.2

As 4.1.2 is getting a bit old too, maybe I should update to a more recent version.

However, I am concerned with security, and having python code would allow me to read it.

I know quite a bit of python, but I am no networking Guru- is there maybe a collection of suspicious code fragments to search for in the python code?

This seems esp. important because a malware would be hidden in some otherwise networking unrelated module and be called from some unconspicuous function for obfuscation.

Like, the typical routines a malware would use, like establishing network connections other than to the electrum servers etc.?

Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney)
by
l8orre
on 01/08/2023, 17:32:18 UTC

this is not necessarily about Hal, but since he was certainly closely involved with Satoshi
(if not with Satoshi Nakamoto Nakamoto, then at least with his close neighbour Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto)

I would like to put this out here about the double whitespace riddle:

https://vimhelp.org/options.txt.html#%27joinspaces%27

Quote
         'joinspaces' 'js' 'nojoinspaces' 'nojs'
'joinspaces' 'js'   boolean   (default on)
         global
Insert two spaces after a '.', '?' and '!' with a join command.
When 'cpoptions' includes the 'j' flag, only do this after a '.'.
Otherwise only one space is inserted.
NOTE: This option is set when 'compatible' is set.

Could this be the explanation for this quirk in Satoshis writings?

Jesus! Are you also planning to kidnap his kids?   Shocked

I know this is too much of a sassy but I'm not gonna be surprised if you actually will do it. So right now I might just have to archive it https://archive.vn/xRJFG

so that if anything will happen, someone can be traced to who seems to have the dedication to follow Ivanov.

Note: Sell WAVES now and buy back next week.

Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots
by
l8orre

well, you have a good point on this matter. it depends on the person who is holding the funds. not many people are trusting their capability of holding their keys, this is why some people still store their funds in CEXs. but for those regular crypto users/traders, we need to remind ourselves not to store funds in CEXs for long time. better secure it in our own wallets.
Neither we should trust DEX smart contracts to store them for too long time. As at least when we trust CEXes, they get sued after messing up, You can't sue a faulty hacked smart contract. And what comes to praising decentralization in general, it almost always has centralized elements. Like wrapped btc that just got depegged supposedly because of Almada Research minted it a lot.

Please realize that there is atomicdex, that does not operate with SCs, but on plain UTXO blockchains, and hence does not have any SC risk.

This is the best time to have that power with your coins by holding the keys and ensuring that you have them in your pocket. It shows how important it is to have your wallet and your coins directly in there. This is ideal if the exchange makes themselves DEX or the projects that plan DEX. I think futures with DEX is an excellent thing to check.

DEX has been around for several years now, only most crypto holders are too bamboozled by the Blinkenlichten:
