Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development
by

The problem is that Grant Thornton is technically illiterate and so is the judge. They both don't understand basic concepts of databases and how they work.

All you have to do is a database query for every coin to see how much all the users are holding and compare it to that coins wallet amount. This should take one day to do. Yet Grant Thornton makes it seem like they have to manually add up all the users amounts for each coin.

This is beyond a joke. The judge probably knows zero about cryptocurrency and databases and how they function. So what you have is technical incompetence on both sides scratching their heads like mindless idiots because of a serious deficiency in understanding.

What is needed is an expert to handle everything. From calculating the amount the users own for each coin , by doing database queries, and comparing it to the amounts in the wallets; To updating the binaries so the coins are up to date and can be withdrawn; To securing the coins so they can't be hacked.

Grant Thornton hasn't done a damn thing since they took over as liquidator. They haven't even bothered securing the coins or contacting each coins development team to see whats needed to make sure the coins are up to date and able to be secured and withdrawn by users.

They haven't even attempted to do database queries to find out exactly how much the users own for each coin and comparing it with the amount in the coins wallets. With this level of incompetence, by Grant Thornton and the judge, I can't see how anything can be solved at all.

Hi mate, so do you think users will see again their funds or not?

by
landuvour
on 27/12/2017, 00:58:07 UTC
Sul forum c'è un fork annunciato come il fork di segwit2x che fu cancellato, in realtà non si tratta dello stesso fork. Questo fork ha un'aria molto sospetta. Sul topic aperto da loro chiedono le private key dei partecipanti. State attenti, soprattutto a dare a terze parti le private key. Buone feste!

If you are not a trader, daily trader for example. I suggest to pick some coins, study them, try to understand technology behind them. Don't look at biggest pumps, look at the technology behind the coin because it lets you know if the coin you choose can grow in a sustainable way.

This fork is a scam, they are even asking for private keys, there is another topic here in the forum that shows it.

Re: Why is DOGE pumping?

I think DOGE was pumped because of McAfee rumors, bitcoin stabilization and low price, usually new investors see low price coins and they think that these ones can grow so much. Look at Sia.

A lot of people have already advised you about some trustworthy exchanges. Some other say you to search coins you want to buy on coinmarketcap and from there you can see exchanges that trade them. I advise to always choose the first or second exchange by volume (24h), this way you can buy and sell faster.

Re: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?
by

Electrum is the best wallet in my opinion. However, I think that will be awesome to create a Multisig wallet Desktop.

Noob here:  Say I buy a currency with Cryptopia, the secure thing to do is to move the coin to a wallet and not keep it at Cryptopia? I have a Mac and iPhone what wallet should I use and how would I transfer from Cryptopia to that wallet?

Mobile wallets on Android are the easiest to use and very well maintained. I would recommend Mycelium. On a desktop system, Electrum is very good. But, best option is to use a hard wallet. It means your bitcoins or other tokens are physically stored there, for example, I advise you to use Ledger Nano S.

Hi everyone, Ledger team, which makes Nano Ledger, has posted this: Bitcoin Gold will fork on block 491407 - just hold your BTC in a Legacy or Segwit address before. Nothing else necessary. What does Legacy or Segwit address mean? Thanks!

Perfect, I will follow your indications for best verifying signature.

This topic brings me spontaneously to ask you another question.

Can you advise me a good bitcoin (and maybe eth Wink) paper wallet generator?  So good I can verify who is the owner and his signature, in other words a generator made up by a reliable developer.

Thanks a lot again!

Thanks HI-TEC99

I have followed religiously your guide posted in the link, through cleopatra I get:

generate-wallet.html.sig: Signature is valid
Signed on 2016-02-23 15:53 with unknown certificate 0x761F7D53D11591274A170B839277AD7136E1D9B6.

but, I don't have certificate of Canton Becker (the maker of bitcoin paperwallet) Grin I only have trough his website these:
PGP Public Key ... (very long as you know  Cheesy)
RSA Key ID: 36E1D9B6
Fingerprint: AB12 6777 451C 7A18 C172 3297 C525 F065 0B16 DF4B

How can I connect this certificate to him?

Verify paperwallet GPG
by
landuvour
on 11/06/2017, 00:57:01 UTC
Hi  Cheesy, I want to verify this paperwallet creator
https://github.com/cantonbecker/bitcoinpaperwallet

Canton Becker says that I can verify authenticity through GPG, so I've installed GPGforWin with all features: GnuPg, Kleopatra, GPA, GpgOL, GpgEX. I run Windows 10 64 bit.

In the README Canton says: 'go to appropriate directory and type in these two commands':
  gpg --recv-key 36E1D9B6
  gpg --verify --with-fingerprint generate-wallet.html.sig generate-wallet.html

So, I open as an admin 'command prompt' and I type:        gpg --recv-key 36E1D9B6

I get:

gpg: requesting key 36E1D9B6 from hkp server keys.gnupg.net
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found
gpg: total number processes: 0
gpg: keyserver communications error: keyserver helper internal error
gpg: keyserver communications error: General error
gpg: keyserver receive failed: General error

when I try to type this line:         gpg --verify --with-fingerprint generate-wallet.html.sig generate-wallet.html

I get:

gpg: impossible open 'generate-wallet.html.sig': No such file or directory
gpg: verify signatures failed: No such file or directory

Can anyone help me?  Grin

Hi, for getting verified tier 3 Kraken asks for a proof of residence. Self-certification of residence is enough?

Ah, I'm glad of becoming member of this forum  Grin
