I think A_MCGriff nailed it.

https://dzone.com/articles/what-blockchain-can-do-for-the-internet-of-things

Regarding Darkdev`s  link, I think that  securing IOT end nodes is not the job of the blockchain and some solution needs to be developed  to secure them and allow IOT to mature.

Once end nodes are secured, (Verge) Blockchain can allow micro payments/ smart contracts between them. transactions will be also secured, Verge combo  public ledger/ but 127.0.0.1 would fit great here imo.

I think  suppliers need to have verge/other crypto functionality  already installed in E-sim(for cars) or fridge software/ other device etc, not their customers/average Joe. maybe they are going to use more blockchains , each one for specific services;  great if Verge would be used for microtransactions.

Here we need the b2b partnerships that verge would need to win   in order to get more adoption.

In an interview you mentioned that once you guys deploy a couple of more things (including RSK) you are going to go out and sell more the benefits of Verge.
But you also said you are not going to approach it as "door to door", like selling vacuum cleaners and that everyone should come to the "crypto shop" and look around.

In my opinion,  a coin is located  in the "crypto shop"when it is present in the industry - conferences/youtube/blogs/blockchain events and once this is done, individual  companies will come to look and choose between verge and X coin to run it through their ecommerce platform etc.   if not , verge does not exist  in comparison with the other  coin competitors.

I`d love to see a plan to build partnerships, maybe employ people for biz dev, but i dunno how getting funding will work out if  VC money is out of the question.

Thanks for replying to my comment & apologies  for not being clear enough, English is not my 1st language. Smiley
BTW, great move with the interviews, this is how people  will trust verge even  more.

Hi Dev,

Hope you  will find some time to address this , still curious to see your thoughts.

Hey Sunerok,

would  like to see your view&Verge community on this:

I just realized that loopback - dummy IPs -  on the user side, but public ledger  can be integrated so smoothly  in the IOT / connected vehicles/ smart city echo system.

they are  estimating billions of  things connected  by 2020 and blockchain will be used as  backbone instead of deploying  centralized nodes around the end users.

now the thing is that corporations are already starting to  build private blockchains to accommodate this. Basically  a virtual currency will be used to pay inside those chains. there are a lot examples on this if we search.

Do you find feasible to try to tackle the IOT market?

this could be huge.

indeed, public ledger needs to exist .

As  for security, if you cannot see within verge blockchain the real IP s of the users, maybe verge can be considered an alternative to the private chains.

I think that selling the dummy Ip s/public ledger idea for IOT is easier that those for person privacy.

Some people can consider that privacy is not that important and also that those that think too much of this  are going into the conspiracy theory zone.

Which is not true, why not keeping it invisible but legal (because of the public ledger) if it`s possible, but it is what it is and  this thinking might block easy adoption.

Thus this idea with IOT which  screams end user security/privacy.

PS: verge can go for combined "human" and "things privacy"  , not sure about the branding/ specialization aspect  in respect with the market info overflow.
this can be further on discussed.

cheers

Hi Dogedarkdev,

I`ve bought some coins with the intention to hold them a while.

here are my thoughts and questions regarding the future of verge coin. Regarding the suggestions i will state below,  you worked on this project so at the end you are entitled to shift/do what you think it`s best for your  baby. Smiley

1)   I see that there is the intention to add RootStock to Verge once it`s working for Bitcoin. This is awesome, the fact that verge will have privacy + smart contracts combined.

I think  newcomers should have clear understanding what sets apart Verge from other coins: Monero, Dash, Zcash.
If privacy/smart contracts combo, i read that others will implement also this in the future, if not already.
This topic is not clear to me and need to read more, but a quick explanation here will help me and others searching for more info.
Once this  is settled, Verge can gain more trust in the long run.

If Verge is 1st coin to add those, the fact that Zcash/Monero etc got a way bigger traction than Verge can be bummer for many future investors. would want to see your opinion on this one ( i m not talking about speculators).

2)   Once the tech side stands on its own, marketing is crucial as you know. (actually this needs to be done aggresively IHMO , in parallel with rootstock implementation.
I see that you got verge ad , nice but i think it needs more than this:

suggestions regarding marketing:

1) twitter account to be more professional oriented, it still has one man show feel: check syscoin/ stratis way of doing things on twitter.
Posting about partnerships, trends and where  fits or will fit in the blockchain echosystem).

2) verge blog?

3) brief presentation of the team + whenever future member comes aboard.

4) do you have a plan regarding deals for Verge? this will get more trust on future investors and it`s also addressing the very basic question: why verge and not other coin.

Curious of your thoughts here, nevertheless the fact that you and your guys built this from 0 up to this level is huge. But to bring it to the next level i think it will require a lot.

cheers!
