Re: Cats Welcoming Owners Home
by

on 31/05/2017, 15:43:57 UTC
They can be loving creatures indeed and forgiving too. My aunt had a cat once and she loved her very much. This was a very smart cat. It had learned how to open doors around the house and even the oven. You'd find her crawled inside sometimes a while after a meal is cooked especially during the winter months, when it got very cold.

Once my aunt had come home with her walking cane and a mouse ran through the room. She got startled and tried to hit the mouse with her cane, but instead hit her cat which had jumped out of nowhere chasing the mouse.

After the accident the poor thing lost its left eye. However it survived and lived some 13 years in the end-quite a long life for a cat. It never seemed to seek vengeance or hold a grudge against her owner, actually nothing changed after this unfortunate accident.

Wow, barely one day into the ICO and half the money collected already! Impressive! I thought that's a bit too expensive for me, but maybe I'll have to join in too, with such hype and confidence AE price will likely explode pretty quickly.

I've tried many such sites before, but they're mostly(if not all) scams. They let you complete some huge survey with tons of pop up windows and only in the end they tell you that it's only meant for say Brazilian citizens. Then even if you change your IP to match they still find some excuse to not pay out anything.

Still at least they only waste your time, but if there's malware in any of these sites it can be risky for your money too.

It's a bit surprising they haven't done this already. I think the scandals with wiretapping German officials a few years ago should have been more than enough for the Germans to stop relations with US intelligence services.

I'm sorry but all you can do is wait for it to pull through or return to your wallet. Seems like the network is still getting spamed by miners. I'd abstain from using BTC as payment option for a while.

:'(I sell my ETC last night, what's the fuck?
I am worried about the bubble too big, so I sell it
but,it's raise to the moon, but I still on the erath

You should have simply cashed out your initial investment and then hold on to the rest. This way you would have not risked to take a loss and you could have carelessly watched as ETC takes you to the moon too. Don't worry though, the ETC rocket might still have some fuel left in it.

Yes what fluffypony did hurt the coin a lot and buried their chances to get onto coinbase anytime soon. However Monero is not the coin that will be killed by one such flop. The coin already is traded at most big markets including poloniex and also has what most shitcoins can never hope for. XMR has use and is adopted as currency on several places. This coin won't die, and even if it takes a while it will bounce back.

Recently started using Mullvad. Their client is not top notch, but the connection speeds are good and they have a good enough selection of IPs. Monthly subscription is cheap, arount 6$, but it gets better. When you get an account number from their site(takes less than a minute) you get 3 hours of use for free. So basically you don't really have to pay for it, just get new account numbers every time and you'll be set for good.

Re: Government Buy Submarine Etc. - Taxpayers Will Pay Some Extra Billions In Taxes
by
leademepls
on 24/05/2017, 09:35:07 UTC
To be honest subs are one of the things I always see reason in building. They are the ultimate weapon of war today and for a superpower like the US, Russia or China they should be the emphasise of the defense industry. Aircraft carriers are weapons of imperialism and enforcing your policies on other countries across the globe, nuclear submarines with their arsenal of weapons of mass destruction can't be used for such purposes, but they are a good deterrent against war on your own country.

With the Russian Typhoon class submarines still at the pinnacle of submarine technology(in most areas) and the Project 955 submarines entering service it's understandable if the Americans don't want to be left behind. That and also the Virginia class is expected to serve for the next 5 decades or so. Sounds more like a reasonable long term investment to me.

Re: Accepting Bitcoin on eBay?
by

Officially ebay don't yet accept BTC as payment if that's what you're asking. It is possible however these sellers use the ebay infrastructure to sell their goods, but not to get paid. This might be arranged by them separately. I doubt ebay have any serious plans to accept digital currencies like BTC at least anytime soon and even if they do this will probably require you to share even more personal information than when you use paypal for example.

The book focuses on the emerging trends of Cryptocurrencies (mainly Bitcoin) and their underlying technology (Blockchain). It starts from Bitcoin and goes way beyond to the current and potential applications of the Blockchain Technology.

VISIT here to download for free: http://www.oodlestechnologies.com/bitcoin-ebook

Hey thanks! I was looking into wrapping up all my knowledge about the crypto scene and well formalizing it a bit, cause it's just bits and pieces from everywhere - not very systematic. I was wondering where to start, something that goes through the most important stuff in an organized manner, this one will help.

Re: Humans vs Evolution
by
leademepls
on 20/05/2017, 06:32:57 UTC
Let's avoid the religious debate and assume Evolution is real

The prime drivers of evolution are
1) Random gene mutations
2) Survival of the Fittest/Natural Selection

The issue I see is that humans actively fight against natural selection/survival of the fittest...

We have hospitals where we treat down's syndrome, cancer, epilepsy, and all forms of mental and physical retardation

Without intervention, these "bad genes" would die and leave the gene pool... but, we keep these people alive, to pass on "bad genes" to the next generation

I know it sounds callous, etc., but it seems like a stupid idea to fill the gene pool with "bad genes", rather than let nature take it's course and kill off the poor bastards who drew the short straw

If a dog breeder had a dog with an obvious deformity, it would not use the dog for breeding purposes... that would be stupid to contaminate the breed's gene pool

We're talking here about a change in human environment and habitats which are factors that affect evolution. Specimens that are more suited for their surrounding environment are more successful and desired by the opposite species, therefore they procreate and leave heirs and others that are ill suited for the world don't. In our world it's no longer so necessary to be in a perfect physical condition, it's more desired to be successful in life, therefore the new evolution will favor qualities like entrepreneurship, quick and creative thinking and so on which will eventually become more than just personal qualities that people develop during their life cycle. Human brains will become more and more suited to the demands of this kind of world, while human physique will probably begin to deteriorate.

However our political situation means that this can change in literally hours and we can go from a peaceful world where the threat is that you may lose your job, to a world where you're scavenging for food in the irradiated rubble of a town and fighting for survival is the everyday way of life. An outcome like this will instantly erase the previously well suited branch of newly evolved humans and make physical toughness a prime quality once again.

turn off the tv Grin do not watch again

Not that you'll be missing on something. On TV everything is trash nowadays, you're better off using the internet as your only source of entertainment and information.

So here's a good way to prank your girl, go to your TV service provider and tell them to stop all channels except TLC. She'll be dead within a week.

You kidding? There are probably small shootings all over the place every day, but nobody from the big media wants to something like this with just cover one or two victims. Just like in Afghanistan. Have you noticed reports of bombings and terrorism from there almost seized? I doubt it suddenly became a peaceful place, just the media don't care. It's not "fresh" anymore.

For Sia that's not that much considering it started from 30 sat or so. It's only normal to have such pumps when the coin is so cheap. Still congrats to anyone who went all in on Sia and trippled their money  Smiley

Re: Learning a new language

Indeed I have a friend who went to the UK and had absolutely no experience in English beforehand. His English was so bad every time he said something he was creating a new meme unintentionally. His speaking skills now that he has lived for a few years in the UK are much more advanced than mine and I've studied the language seriously for several years.

Duolingo is good way of aquiring some basic skills in most western language, and you also have Rosetta Stone. You can probably download it from some torrent tracker, though its language packs take plenty of space on your HDD. I did kinda learn reading and speaking Russian to some degree by reading Russian books, so that's a way too.

Hmm my friend know my own language and english so he want to learn 1 more language so which you would prefer him german or french? I think german that it is better.

Tough one. German is spoken in many of the world's top economies including obviously Germany itself. French however is spoken in half of Africa, Canada and some parts of Asia too. While most of these are at the bottom of the 3rd world countries list, they can still prove to be important markets in the future.

Myself I'd pick German mainly cause of bias, but it would be a good option to know them both. Also in the EU French seems to be accepted as 2nd official language after English for some reason. Probably cause many of the institutions are located in Brussels which is a mostly French speaking town.

Re: Trump Approves Plan To Directly Arm Kurds; Turkish Lira Tumbles
by
leademepls
on 12/05/2017, 08:12:56 UTC
Trump need to be very careful with the arms of Rick, but tomorrow the militants. Today they can be friendly to America, but tomorrow, circumstances may change and they turn their weapons against the Americans.

Normally I'd agree seeing how the US have a hobby of creating and arming terrorist groups who later turn against them(Al-Quaeda), but I think the Kurds are more likely to turn against the Turks(actually they already have) so I'd say that's a pretty safe investment.

It will be interesting if after the war Kurds manage to negotiate the separation of Kurdistan from Syria. Such a development in either Syria or Iraq(or both) is very unwanted for Erdogan, as the creation of an independent Kurd state will most likely make the Turkish PKK even more aggressive in their campaign to separate Kurd populated areas from Turkey.
