[ANN] SmartPoker | SmartChips - Decentralized Poker Service
by
leblanc
on 15/09/2015, 04:06:41 UTC
(Our official BCT account is "Smartpoker". Had to use one personal from team because our account can't show images)

It's the future of Poker. No more centralized services who take away all your profit with high rake.
SmartPoker is a decentralized poker client built on blockchain technology.
The centralized poker sites still has an advantage with the ability to offer bonuses and stunning design, but SmartPoker has bigger features.
It's free, trustless and really easy to use.

SmartChips are the coins you need to play poker with SmartPoker.
Similar to Bitcoin, built from the same technology but slightly different in specifications.
However, the SmartPoker client has a built in feature that lets you deposit Bitcoin. It will automatically convert your Bitcoins to SmartChips for you, so you don't need to bother with exchanges.
The same process when you withdraw. You can choose to withdraw them in SmartChips or Bitcoin.
The client goes directly to the most most popular exchange to buy or sell in the market, witch is C-Cex.com at the moment.

The majority of the people behind SmartPoker has been in the cryptoscene a long time, and both watched and experienced all the scams that have taken place over the last two years.
It's sad and destructive for the whole community.
That's why we got the idea of using an abandoned coin on our platform. Way better for the community then creating yet another one.

It was a long process of finding the correct coin for us to use. But we landed on Isotope after extensive research, and for different reasons.
The story behind Isotope was especially sad in our eyes. Short told, it was removed from Bittrex after addition and developer abandoned. There is a lot more to it then that, but easy to find for yourself if it should be of interest.
Without a doubt, it created many investors who never got a chance to even get some of their money back. We are hoping to help those out now. Maybe it's not very many, but better to help a few then none.
It also needed to have the specifications we wanted, witch it did. Isotope also has a very good block explorer, and that's also a plus in the beginning face. As we don't need to create one now. Surely there will come in the future, but it's not a priority.
Another reason is the vision behind Isotope. Witch was gambling, so we can follow through on that vision. (You won't find that on the old thread, deleted because Bittrex wouldn't allow and so on)

To the trolls that will come. Yes, we have bought a stake in the coin now for almost nothing. More accurate, 5% of the supply.
There will be no profits from this platform, and this is a serious project, not just for fun.

14/9-15 | Finally!

Good to finally reveal this enormous project that we have been working on.
We are really excited about the future, and can't wait to start promoting and getting people to use this platform.
It's important that we get as many people as possible to join the fun on release day.
We want people playing, and especially in the freeroll tournament we are setting up. So if you want to help out, try to get as many people as possible hyped up about this release.
Remember to join our slack if you want to join in on the 3 BTC freeroll tournament!

14/9-15 | Contacting Services

We are currently contacting services like C-Cex and Coinmarketcap to get them to change the name and logo from Isotope to SmartChips.

16/9-15 | Building Community

First, thanks for all the positive feedback. Seems like people are really interested in the concept of using the blockchain with poker, and correctly so.
Poker players are tired of never going in profit, and more and more people become aware that its because of the rake. That's where Smartpoker will appeal to everybody that loves to play poker.

The reason for this one week between announcement and release is because we want to create some hype. We want to build a community and get as many people as possible to join the freeroll on release day.
In case you have not checked out the website, we are hosting a 3 BTC freeroll. Everyone can participate, all you need to do is join our Slack and be available on release day.
The goal is 100 people to join in, and we will do everything in our power to make that happen.

It would be naive to think that will happen without any promotion though.
So we have planned a huge twitter promotion that will take place in the next days. It will go over a 24 hour timeframe, and will target mainly cryptopeople.
So follow us on Twitter and watch out for the #smartpoker hashtag. It will be filling up your feed Smiley

17/7-15 | Ticker & Name

Name and Ticker has changed on C-Cex.com.

Istope - SmartChips
XTP - SC

19/9-2015 | Lot's of Stuff!

Advertising
As promised, Smartpoker will have a spot in the headlight. And it will be tomorrow, on Twitter. Keep an eye out on your feed and if you want to help, do some retweeting Smiley
Esitmated reach is 100,000-300,000 followers which is already engaged in crypto. It will draw A LOT of more eyes on Smartpoker.
We hope that the small community we have built up in these few days will help us out and be available on Slack to engage in some conversations with all the new people that will be joining.

Forum
We have been really lucky on this. Yesterday we where contacted by a community member who was eager to build up a nice forum for us.
For a small fee and possible donations from community. But that will be handled when it is finished. He will be starting on building it today.
It will be a really cool forum, not just an ordinary one with some pre-made theme. One in our team will be helping him out building some integration's with the client and a couple other cool features.

Addition To The Team
We have had 2 people contact us about addition to the team, with really impressive qualifications. We have not had the chance to test out it if what they claim is true, but will be done.
Both was interested in joining with a stake in our smartchips holdings, which is very reasonable.
To the applications: We will be contacting you sometime next week to set up a meeting. As your services are not needed right now, we can only focus on the main project right now, which is the client.
When we have more time to focus on other things, we will have great benefit with more hands on the team.

Slack Automatic Sign-Up
Inviting manually is a hazzle, so we will be setting up an automatic page on the website. This is no rush, but not much work so will probably be up by the end of the week.
And if you havent join yet, please do! We are getting many signups each day and have had some good conversations.

Exchange
As told earlier, we are in talks with some exchanges to see if we can get added. Nothing final to report at this moment, but we will post right away when we know more.

Developers Q&A
This is something that has been requested by a few community members, and something which we are really exited about doing.
Right now we still have a few things left to do, and can not spare every developer to go on Slack.
As it will take a good amount of time. And we want to all be there so we can answer everybody fully out on whatever questions the community would have.
Keep updated here and on Twitter, as we will be posting the time for a 2 hour long section asap.

20/9 - 15 | New Exchange

Exchange
We came through for you guys who wanted a new exchange! We get added tomorrow. Can you guess which exchange it is?

Forum
It's coming around very good. The builder is coming on later today to tell us more about his project.

Promotion
Today we have had a "Viral blast", reaching out to thousands of cryptopeople. Check out twitter to see.
We now got a lot more eyes on this project.

2 days Left
We are now only 2 days away from client release. Hope you guys are excited, because we are!

3 BTC Freeroll
This will be a hell of a lot fun, and we will be creating some history.
But we have not reached enough people in Slack to be satisfied. That's a bit of a let down.
Would think a 3 BTC freeroll would attract at least 100 people to play.
But we will do everything we can to get more people in on it. You only need to join our Slack and be available at 21 September to join.

I was the only one registered for the 3pm EST FR ... so it didn't go off. Min players is 3 people! Pls register and play.

Now for the 4pm EST game there are only 2 of us!

Two places pay ... easy btc ...

There's more action during peak hours (5-10PM). We can't really blame people for not showing up weekdays at 3PM.

It might have been due to login issues many were experiencing early today.

Also, different time-zones don't help, I'd like to join 25mBTC GTD, but it's set at 1am UK time, not the best time if you have to get up in the morning.

Yes I stand by this 1am is 2am for me and it does not finish until 3:30am that is to much on weekdays when you have a life outside bitcoin. OP is there anyway you can make another one or two of these 25GTD and see how they go?

I actually have a little disappointed @Cointelegraph for recommendation BetVIP.com . The site is not good for members. the odds is lower than other ones. Withdraw take a long time. Support is not enthusiastic. Giveaway is paid after .......a month. LOL.
BetVIP has a start "too impressed" !
Lose bet : update "instant"
Win bet  : Unsetled
they don't have any supporters at the weekend.

Weekends are a very busy maybe they need to think about employing more support to keep there customers happy campers. Number one most important thing is keeping customers happy.

New to this, How fair is PD?

Any suggestions how to go with PD?
Extremely fair.

Don't bet more than you can afford to lose.

I have been doing some research and found people have neg rep the PD and highlighted how they can get very very very bad streaks.

Any comments?

Bad streaks are apart of gambling.  It is simply a numbers game with the amount of bets one does you are pretty much promised to have a terrible streak depending on the number of bets you have done.  But since it is a luck thing, it could be tough to take if you started out with a  12 loss streak I guess.

Does rolls can be manipulated?

They can technically take your history of rolls that were played, but I dont think within that moment if thats what you are asking?

But, I dont think they have the time nor energy to spend on that stuff esp when they are aware of the odds.

Like most mentioned, it only takes 1 confirmation to update the balance to show.

But waiting for the confirmation can take awhile or little as like 5 mins.
