Picture on the about me page: https://hminers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Benjamin-Berglung.jpg matches a google image for "stock businessman on black background": https://static.pexels.com/photos/262391/pexels-photo-262391.jpeg.

That is a little suspicious.

I have been meaning to put together a review thread for the splitter, but things have been really busy. I will soon.

The device works wonderfully, and has been providing adequate power downstream to my other USB hubs. I have few communication problems on my gridseed miners now, where I used to need to restart them daily when not using powered hubs.

Its also packaged quite beautifully. Honest criticism is on the power brick, but I typically dislike how big they always are.

Full thread and pictures coming soon.

I received my splitter today, and will begin testing it by week's end.

Characteristics I intend to test:
  • Powered output and use on connected hubs
  • comparison between phone charger and powered splitter for phone charging speeds
  • Use of miners on Raspberry Pi which is also used as a NAS

You can probably work on design for FPGA's for free. I have a student license of Vivado for VHDL/Verilog. It allows for synthesis, analysis, and deployment to certain boards.

ASICs are another step trickier. I would think that you can't actually manufacture a chip without paying some huge cost. For commercial applications, I think you would need to pay for some licensing.

Given the costs involved, practicing core design on FPGA's might allow a stepping stone to where you want to be.

Depending on the view, I introduce Bitcoin from an economic/currency standpoint, a commodity/investment standpoint, or for mining.

Depending on who I talk to, a "dumbed down" version of mining is the best way "You use your computer to make free money."

I have been inactive for some time, I also haven't used ABC pool in a greater period of time after "share posting issues" occurred. I want to say that my issues were resolved easily, but others were having issues at the time as well. This issue may involve more people than anyone can imagine.

The way that Slush's pool pays for shares will play against you. Each share you solve (and you will solve very few shares with 340 kh/s) will decay very quickly. At slush's pool, the shares towards the end of the block are worth more.

I would suggest going to a PPS pool if you insist on mining. Don't get me wrong, it's great that you love Bitcoin, and want some for yourself, but at 340kh/s, you are putting a strain on your system and the gains aren't worth that strain.

I wonder how it will go cracking WPA  Tongue

It might actually be very good at that, even more so than other cryptographical uses.

Can't wait for my 99$ board. Beside from learning I'll use it for data mining and 24/7 stochastics  Cheesy, might be way cheaper than a quad core vps.

Same, should be an easy co-processor to use since it has existing libraries in the SDK (and opencl support). Can't wait to see what sort of streaming encryption performance i can get out of my 99$ unit.

All things considered, coming with packages like that will be very useful, even if the board's specs aren't great.

Re: AMD Layoffs

I've kind of been out of the loop on mobile chips lately, but have been looking at buying a new laptop... are the "APU's" the chips that contain both a process and a GPU?  And they are good?  I'm looking in the $600 or less range, but can only find integrated graphics on the Intel side with those, and decent dedicated GPUs on the AMD side.  So I like the looks of the AMD offerings on paper, but I am just concerned about the CPUs themselves - power usage, actual processing power compared to the i3/i5's, etc.  And what's the difference between A6/A8/A10?

I have a laptop with AMD A10 processor and it has an integrated graphics 6620G. A6/A8 and A10 I believe differ in what graphics card integrated into them.
My laptop also has a dedicated 6650 and what I love about amd apus is that you can crossfire them.

Actually, each different CPU has a different integrated GPU model, not just the different series cpus.

Hope you downloaded it, Microsoft's waging war on every Halo 4 video currently out there. It's gone now.

Halo 4's campaign is so public, I'm not sure why you paid for it?

And halo 4 is currently unreleased. It releases in November. He probably doesn't want to pirate it just to play the campaign early.

My xbox isn't modded and there are no emulators.

What I mean is, that the campaign is all over Youtube.

Link me.

http://www.youtube.com/show/halo4campaign/videos?view=0 appears to have missions 1 and 3 (I didn't look because I don't want to spoil it). I found them by simply searching Halo 4 campaign mission X

Those were officially released campaign gameplays. The OP asks for leaked campaign gameplay.

My bad, I was under the impression there would be more footage, simply because of how many other spoilers there are. I guess I stand corrected.

It's all good. I'm just in super fanboy mode and trying to get my hands on every little shred.

If I had the means to record it, I'd revive my old flashed box for you. They certainly are teasing people hard with it.

Agreed. And they play the damned "Copyright Violation" card. Not on the game itself, but on the videos people post of the gameplay. I feel it's kind of ridiculous. They're trying to generate buzz and keep it under wraps at the same time. Sure, it's legal for them to claim copyright on it, but still.

As far as I understand, their usage policies are only if you wish to monetize your videos. Excluding MLG, no one is allowed to make money on H4 videos.

So basically, it's illegal to publish it on any YouTube partners' channel. Anyways, back on topic, MSFT is still actively removing every unreleased campaign video.
Not just partners, as anyone can monetize the video. The justification behind the active removing of video is the monetization. I'm gonna go back to searching.

In essence, Goat has a little elephant. If that's the case, in a sword fight between him and I, he would win, and the only savely grace would be is that I would come in second.

And second is better than third, or worse.

The A4-3400 gets about 100mhash/s. I have firsthand experience in using them.
