Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1)

Fully no doubt for PSG winning Ligue 1 next season, looks how much money spent out to sign new player and season by season very easy to be the champion. Looks the Ligue 1 table every season PSG become the winner with many points remaining from 2nd standings team and winning around several Ligue 1 matches remaining. PSG have completed player right now and not really needed to sign new player during not any player leaving the team, Dembele, Donarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and many top player still not leaving PSG for next season.
In my prediction, around games week 28 to 30 will win Ligue 1 such as did every season how early games week for PSG become the winner of Ligue 1.
That's why ligue 1 seems unattractive, and people call it a farmers' league. Regarding the competition in ligue 1, we probably don't need to discuss it further, as PSG will continue to dominate ligue 1 for years to come. Unless many large investors come in and fund other teams to bring in quality players. However, the problem is that currently, attracting large investors is difficult because other teams haven't produced results that are visible enough to compete with PSG. If any team in Ligue 1 manages to win the title at least once, they will certainly receive an injection of capital from investors.

Re: Be careful with nostalgia
by

Sometimes an old athlete may want to come back for some special match. Some bettors might still bet on him despite of old age and lack of recent experiences in the sport. That is because of what we call nostalgia. They might recall the past memories or past performances of the athlete that may not necessarily reflect the recent performance of the athlete. So be careful when betting because you might just be nostalgic.
Every athlete hits their peak at some point, and most of the time, it doesn’t come back. I think most people know that, but bettors often ignore it. They focus too much on past performances and care more about winning than thinking logically. Realistically, when an athlete makes a comeback, they’ll give it their all, but the competition has changed, and age definitely plays a role. So even though I bet on sports a lot, I’m not into betting based on nostalgia, like you mentioned. I’d rather bet with logic than just rely on old stats.

Re: What is your point of no return?
by

on 25/07/2025, 19:39:19 UTC
As the questions says, when do you stop? your point of no return?

a. at least double your money, then stop
b. you only stop when you have lost all your bankroll money and then blame the casino?
c. or you are a superstitions gambler, when you have signs like losing 3 straight in a row, then you quit because you know that you're having a bad luck
d. you stop when you are at least break even

I didn't include chasing your losses as obviously you might to continue.
I always have a loss limit and a win limit, which keeps me consistent and prevents me from engaging in negative behaviors like chasing losses, etc. This way, I can always be familiar with what to do when my losses reach my predetermined limit and decide to stop. I also stop betting once I feel my winnings are more than enough, or at least reach my predetermined limit. So, none of the options listed above are suitable for me, as I believe the list you provided is simply a general plan that every gambler follows.

You might think differently about the saying “only gamble what you can afford to lose.” But it just means using money you’re totally okay with losing, like, you won’t stress about it later. It’s kind of like buying a movie ticket. You paid to enjoy it, right? But imagine regretting it and adding up every cent you’ve ever spent on movies. That’d be weird, wouldn’t it?

If you spent money and had a good time, don’t beat yourself up or count what’s gone. You got what you wanted, no need to expect more.

A professional gambler is usually seen as someone who always wins using certain strategies and methods. But from another perspective, it means more than just winning. To me, a professional gambler is someone who knows how to control themselves and manage their money well. They set a budget for gambling without messing with their daily expenses, and they make smart choices so they don’t end up chasing losses or getting addicted.

Of the names on this list Liverpool have made impressive signings, not hesitating to spend big to bring in high quality players, they know Man City won't be sitting idle and will want to reclaim the title this season but given Liverpool preparations, I still consider them the top favorites and likely to retain their title, Chelsea and Arsenal are also making significant improvements, I think the upcoming season will be even more exciting as we'll be treated to some impressive performances from their new players.
Liverpool and Man City may indeed have a good plan next season and certainly by recruiting some of these new players have a very good goal to get the title. But I'm not sure of Arsenal. Because every season that I always remember only Arsenal always experienced a decline in performance at the end of the end of the season and failed to take advantage of his best opportunities. And I will actually support Chelsea more than Arsenal, although the same as being pursuing new players in the transfer market, but I believe Chelsea will actually provide fierce competition for Arsenal and even Arsenal will no longer be in the runner up position like the previous 2 seasons.

Re: When gambling what do you measure? Luck or chances?
by

on 23/07/2025, 22:21:07 UTC
That's why I sometimes choose odds of @2+ with high risk, even though it's more like relying on luck rather than chance, but I'm more satisfied with the results. On the other hand, choosing high risk doesn't mean betting without analysis. So, even though I take a risk at higher odds, I first conduct analysis to try to find a greater chance of winning. So, what I do is combine chance and luck to achieve a big result.

I saw a video of Rashfords Training sections few days ago and I can not agree any less that he is going to do even better at Barcelona,  it is a very different environment from what he had at Manchester United and the experience is going  to be different to so I will go with the idea of judging him with his last Manchester United performance and think he will be doing same with Barcelona,  here he will be willing to show value so that he can earn some recognition and Importance to the team so it is obviously a different mentality all together.
I'm not sure if Rashford would shine if Barcelona were to sign him. He's been training hard, but his recent results have been a bit dip. Logically, if he could make a significant contribution, Manchester United would retain him or even make the move permanent at Aston Villa. So, honestly, I'd be skeptical about the player, even though he was once a highly rated player. I find him stubborn and a bit egotistical. If he can't change his attitude at Barcelona, it will all be for naught.

Re: tell me a slots game that you had most wins.
by

I used to play a lot of slots from pragmatic, like Gates of Olympus and Starlight Princess. I’d often hit max win on those and some other games from them. But lately, pragmatic’s been dropping new games with kinda annoying features, and I barely win anymore. So, I switched to Hacksaw and Play n GO, but that didn’t work out either, I kept losing. Now, I don’t really play slots much anymore.

Honestly, I feel like slot games nowadays aren’t the same as before when there was just one buy spin option but you’d hit max wins more often. Now, pragmatic has added two buy spin options, regular spin and super spin. Basically, if you only buy the regular spin, your chances of hitting max win are really low, so you’re kinda pushed to buy the more expensive super spin to have a better shot. That’s why I don’t play slots much anymore.

Re: Does the novelty wear off?

Sometimes people gamble and stop gambling not about money or pleasure but there are other things that encourage them to stop gambling or keep gambling. A gambler who is currently becoming rich in his developing business, maybe they will not gamble anymore because they do not have free time to gamble. They chose to focus on developing their business rather than gambling. But there is a poor gamble who surprisingly becomes rich after having a big business and they continue to bet because he feels less satisfied with the results he gets from his business and tries to find greater than gambling.

In conclusion, all of that is about their own thoughts and all have different mindset.

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?
by
len01
on 23/07/2025, 15:56:35 UTC
Sometimes a bettor repeats an initial mistake and consistently does so, leading to excessive losses. They believe too much in their assumptions. What I mean is, when a bettor consistently bets at odds higher than @3, it carries a high risk. Although winning can yield a decent profit, the chances of winning are slim. However, if a bettor is willing to learn from their mistakes and choose a lower risk, betting at lower odds (although not guaranteed), at least the chances of winning are greater than with higher odds. So, sometimes a bettor simply sticks to their initial plan without considering the overall loss. Without realizing it, they are psychologically attacked and have the ambition to continue betting blindly.

Still 4 rounds left, and IMO everyone has a chance to secure a seat at the grand finale. It is time to level up your game   Cool
I'm not sure if I can make it to the grand final, but I believe luck will be on my side. At the very least, I need to secure first place in the remaining rounds. I also have to play a bit more aggressively and avoid folding too much.

Re: One click away: Philippines grapples with online gambling boom – and doom

Seeing this street gambling advertisement will attract more gamblers and many students will come along, so I think it is at least tragic because this advertisement is enough to destroy not only families but the entire nation. How terrible do you think this advertisement and gambling are, how reasonable do you think it is if such a gambling advertisement is in front of your house/under the open roof
From a personal perspective, gambling and gambling advertisements aren't always bad. All gambling activities are our own responsibility, whether we choose to gamble or not. In countries where gambling is legal, taxes are used to generate state revenue. I believe that establishing a gambling business in that country also has a positive side, creating jobs for the local community. So, none of this is wrong, and it's up to the public to decide whether they will gamble or not. If they gamble and end up losing all their money and valuables, it's not the fault of the advertising or gambling, but rather the individual's inability to control themselves.

This is just a positive perspective, in my opinion.

Re: Favourite 10x games?

Personally if I want to turn a small amount into a quick x profit for fun I do,

10$ into 5-10x I see the most success I have with games like Mines.

I try avoid slot games with low budget, what is your "safest" game for you that you feel lucky on, and have most fun with?

With a $5 - $10 budget on slots, you can sometimes hit bigger wins than in mines, if you’re lucky. Casino games are really all about luck. For me, the best way to get a good win is sports betting, especially when picking low risk options with low odds. But if it’s casino games, I’d go for blackjack or poker since they rely more on skill and feel more profitable.

Winning makes us happy, while losing always leaves us regretful, that's gambling.  Grin If you're feeling unlucky several times, it's best to stop gambling for a week or move on to another game. Because luck sometimes only comes once, and you might find another advantage in another game. Honestly, I've gotten really bored of playing slots and rarely play them anymore, as that's the cycle I've always experienced. I now prefer card games or roulette, which I find more profitable.

Re: How can you enjoy the game when you are losing?
by

on 21/07/2025, 15:39:23 UTC
Everyone has their own way of enjoying every bet they make. Logically, we'd think no one wants to lose money. But for me, that's where the enjoyment lies. I mean, gambling is all about winning and losing. When we lose, we're curious and continue to research ways to win, and after several bets, we finally win, and that's the joy of losing. So, gambling isn't just about losing, it's also about winning. Where there's a loss, there's a win, and vice versa.

Seeing this new signing to Arsenal gives me lots of joy because it is increasing their chances of winning the premier league this season because I see that it is one of their dreams to win the Premier League or possibly another trophy since they have not had one in awhile,  I believe Arteta will definitely make sure that Noni Maduake gets it right with the gunners, congratulations to him on this move. For Chelsea it is a loss that they will need to replace which is going to take them some time to do that, except they use this transfer window to immediately get that done.
In fact, every season, Arteta improves the squad's performance by recruiting several new players. But look at the results, they're the same. Winning a title in the EPL isn't about how good the new players are or how much money is spent. Instead, Arteta needs to learn how to focus on winning a title in one competition. Because I'm sure Arteta really wants Arsenal to have a good history of winning titles in several competitions, but he doesn't see how the team's performance has declined towards the end of the season. Signing Madueke is great, but let's see whether this is a good start for Arsenal or just the same as the previous season.

It's obvious that they wouldn't be able to achieve similar performance next year, because Chelsea have shown other clubs PSG flaws. For Chelsea to humiliate PSG in such a shameful way, it means that PSG is no longer the strongest. They can win Ligue 1 as many times as they want but not UCL.
It's difficult for any team to maintain consistency every season in the UCL, unless they have extensive previous experience. PSG might be able to compete at least until the semifinal next season, but they'll be hard pressed to win the title again, as every team in the league is improving their performance by recruiting new players. This presents a major challenge for Enrique, despite the defeat to Chelsea. The coach feels strongly challenged to continue pursuing PSG best history.

Re: How is wealth distributed through Gambling

-snip

But the money can also go from the wealthy to the poor. If the tax from casinos gets collected by the government and is used effectively, it can help a lot of those in need. The money can be used to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare and etc.
Yeah, that's just how the money cycle works in gambling. But I don’t agree with that last statement.

Right now, a lot of governments are corrupt, and most of the tax money just ends up benefiting the officials. The poor only get like 1% of it. So ideally, the cycle should keep spinning smoothly, but everything comes to a halt when taxes get involved. That’s why some gamblers prefer not to play at physical casinos, since the tax rates there are way higher than in online casinos.
