Has anybody else noticed that the depth chart has been quirky/wrong for the last few days?

Yes seeing the same thing here. Market depth has been quite broken the past few days. Like it's missing data or something.

What else could be part of the mission?

Install a server and mining equipment.

Good to have a copy of the blockchain on the moon right?

Mining on another planet. Possible?
by

As far as I understand you could spend a Bitcoin on Mars. The light travel time means it could take up to 30 minutes to get the first confirmation, so that's not a massive problem.

But what about having miners on Mars, perhaps to speed up confirmation times for colonists.

How would the protocol fair when say a block is found on Mars and it could take nearly half an hour for it to arrive on earth?

Re: BTC Vault - Secure Bitcoin Live-CD

http://dswd.github.com/btcvault

Hi folks,

I want to share something with you that I originally prepared for myself: BTC Vault.

BTC Vault is a Linux Live-CD that should help to store and handle bitcoins securely.
It is a minor adaptation of the Slax Linux distribution with my contribution being so small that you can check it for yourself and see that it does not contain malicious code. If you did the check, please post it here along with the checksums of the files inside your slax directory.

More information is located on the homepage: http://dswd.github.com/btcvault

Downloaded. Love the included Brainwallet and Bitaddress websites. Also very small, loads quick, works fast and even connects to internet quickly. Great stuff.

It's brilliant.

A little reward to say thank you is on it's way in Bitcoin form! Smiley

Empower Yourself - Bitcoin Communication v0.1 (series of tweets)
by
letcore
on 05/06/2013, 23:32:19 UTC
If you want a world where you have more power and the morally corrupt banks and governments have less, buy, store and use bitcoins.

Bitcoin finally allows us to bypass the old system: the debt enslavement, the immoral elite controlling money and power; is about to end.

The World Bank, IMF, Bank of England, Federal Reserve, and any organisation who previously had control cannot control or shut down Bitcoin.

No one simply shuts down the Internet.

War, for oil, for elite profit, for death? No. The banks and govs doing this are immoral businesses/corporations and need to be shut down.

And guess what!? There is a way! To sweep the power from beneath their feet, mathematically, in the most genius way. See Bitcoin.

Empower yourself by changing to a decentralized money/cryptocurrency/transaction protocol hopelessly out of government control. x

Re: Stop calling Bitcoin 'virtual' or 'digital' currency.

Bitcoin is a protocol for transferring and storing value using the Internet.
Unlike gold, it excels as a borderless currency as it can be transferred without friction, to anyone, in almost any amount and without going through a central point.

Bitcoin is digital like credit cards, debit cards, internet banking and compact discs.

Bitcoin is virtual like the brain's perception of the universe.

Okay, I have patiently waited for the "Total time logged in" to go beyond 4 hours, and I have 13 posts.

So why cannot still not reply to the rest of the forum?

It turns out that after posting this post I am now able to post elsewhere.

Why not just activate it automatically?

Re: Bank Funded Staged Terrorist Event in an attempt to control Bitcoin
by

Maybe we should gather a fund to do the same with cash?
Cash is funding terrorists all over the world right now.

But sadly it's true that a lot of people wouldn't understand that at the moment.

I don't believe cash would keep it's value alongside bitcoin.
It could be converted straight to bitcoin though.

This time next year or two I'd be interested in working with hearty bitcoin philantrhopists to achieve clean energy solutions for the world.

Bank Funded Staged Terrorist Event in an attempt to control Bitcoin
by
letcore
on 21/05/2013, 00:39:12 UTC
It could happen. A staged event killing a lot of people. "The terrorists used bitcoin. Therefore bitcoin is evil."
The world bank would then pay the media to show it as evil.

They could attempt to label bitcoin as a "terrorist vehicle" and the root of all evil.
It would also be the most ironic thing to happen in all history.

However, not every country would be in on this.

If a government wants to still have power in the future they would need to adopt bitcoin sooner than later.

This is a warning to not get left behind in the new economy based on math!

IN MATH WE TRUST

ps. I own some btc and would benefit from a whole country switching to bitcoin.
pps. A lot of good people who wish to make good things happen in the world would benefit from the bitcoin price increasing. I personally want to begin the construction of solar collectors in the desert. We know oil is killing the planet. We have clean energy right above us.

Bypassing the Paypal/mastercard/visa dictatorships gives me great joy.

I guess it's only a matter of time until Wikipedia take bitcoin. Kind of surprised they haven't already done it.

Unless... some of their funding comes from Paypal/mastercard/visa...  one wonders...
