Re: TP SL orders in CB Adv: I look up my order and dont see my limiy buy price?

I guess not many of us here can use Coinbase so we can't see for ourselves but it seems really weird you can't see your entry price!!

If you want you can post some images on talkimg.com, and just leave the links here, us older members can see and help post the graphics for you. So others can comment and see

Is there a reason you're doing Coinbase and not something else? Have you tried asking support Smiley

i do coinbase because set up with ID bank account was a huge pain.

The customer support lady just would read cue cards like a robot and contradict herself. I feel bad they only get paid $5 a day and barely speak english and probably never owned a computer or I phone. I could hear roosters in her yard they breed them in the philipines. So I found the problem of my locked account was I was wearing my hair down at the DMV that day and to get the 100% AI crap software to verify I had to wear my hair down. If i cut it short I wouldnt have a coinbase account, Of course customer service is a joke. BIORobots That will never make enough to open an account so what do they care if some rich american gets messed up. At one point I started SHOUTING STOP READING THE SCRIPT AND LISTEN!!!!! horrible.

Im just doing spot, as I dont know how futures work too well so if you dont understand then you dont invest.

Also is there a way when you place an order for coinbase for it to automatially show it on your andles and to put your tpsl on the candles and prie so a quik glae shows how lose you are, so you dont have to write down and keep checking the orders box..

But I always do have to write dow because I pull up open orders I cant see my entry point. No logic! I wouldnt even buy a tpsl if I didnt see a good limit price to get it.

Its like I have to check my CB account every hour to see if I hiy my target or if its time to dump so I dont lose my liquidity.

Honestly, I don't understand. If English isn't your mother tongue, I suggest use a translator instead, like https://translate.google.com/ and paste it here.
Because there might be missing characters or a different language in your post. People will likely be confused.

I still confuse why you would buy a TP and SL; it's just an advanced option on limit order the first thing will be filled once the price hit your limit order, it's filled, and the TP and SL will be placed as an open order.

The explanation you are providing makes us confused; it seems that you actually didn't understand how limit orders works and how the advanced TP/SL works. You don't need to wait or to check it from time to time since it's automated. Once the price you set in the limit order hits, it will be filled, and it will place another open order for TP/SL. Sample it hits the price of your limit order with TP/SL and any of these TP/SL. Once the price hits that TP or SL, your coins will be sold at the TP/SL price.

OKthanks for the info i do speak english but im lrgally blind so typing and setting up CB to see is a PITA,

How do I make my orders show up in the candles? I have clicked every button thats on  site,

Also another problem that might have no solution I made an awesome tpsl order and would have hit the TP which was high but I set the SL really low thinking it would never touch it,

But NO! one of those 15 min candles with this crazy-6% wick happened where the price drops for five minutes and then the price shot back up in a minute, Is there a way you can put a time delay like the SL has to be below $x for two candle [10 min before it can execute?

I wish I could buuild my own ypsl with my algorhytim in my head.

I cant keep up with the news the last bomb shell was trumps terrifs and btc went to 75k, . Are US investors saying this could be bad for the american stock market so last buy crypto: so it will be good? Or will the traders say btc and when I say btc I mean all coins, that when the nyse is too linked to bitcoin and even though bitcoin is country less but seems US drives the price. You can see when this administration is insider trading. Always a day late so we pick up the tab when they pump and dump.
While the war will have no direct effect on bitcoin, we should take note that the value of bitcoin is measured in fiat.. and when there is depreciation of funds due to fiat control by the war events, people will tend to run towards bitcoin as a means to secure funds and to prevent deflation ..
Bitcoin may see an uproar in price and buyers will continue to accumulate more as a means of security against fiat depreciation

yes I was literally hoing to take some profit when btc was 110 yesterday opened , account to do so and now its 99k I lost 10% in 24 hours because I waited!

what idicatars do you use to day trade coins (on coinbas)
by

I use bollingers band
MACD
Chop index
Then base my trade on how long it tops or bottoms so if it took a week i keep my tpsl order open for a week,

But I just got burnred on a tpsl order because one 5 min candle dropped down 5% then went up 6% in 5 min triggering my SL where if there was a buffer that wouldnt happen. So until I can fix that I dont be big amounts.

And im trying to find a volatility line graph and other charts  but some are backwards from others and some dont make sense, I trade small amount a few hundred so it like paper trading but , when paper trading you have no emotions so you take big risks and dont care about losses. But when I lose 10$ I get upset and try to fix it.

So i was big into bit coins 10 years ago but I lost the money so I have about 1000$ to play with.

Op everything got complicated to be seem right after making my search to pertaining all being said. besides nothing to hold up to legitimately about it all.

I tried to reopen that one but sometime when the FTC or SEC began regulating bitcoin they said I had to live in south korea to access my account or something to that effect, Also they didn't have an AWESOME customer service 1-800 like CB's. (yeah sarcasm)

Then if you can not afford to be in the South Korea as directed then try using the VPN.

I almost think they tried to scoop up a whole bunch of USA accounts with small (at the time) and just giving you BS saying resign up, and making off with a whole bunch of inactive accounts,

Like when you get a gift card the company makes a million and you throw away when it get a few dollars or cents then after a year it expires and they make millions of you gift card pocket change.

So my idea to have my cash buy at $10 when the coin is bouncing between 5-15 but I dont want to stay up late to watch 247 for it to go down to 10$

So after its limit order buys at 10  I want it to tp at 20 and sl at 8
coinbase pro

Using OCO I have to already buy yhe cryptocoins?

Im trying to keep my liquidity instead of buy coins for tpsl  but I screwed if I buy in the bear market and my coins dont rebound for a monyh or longer.

Are you trading with spot or futures?
Because the OCO is for spot, the sell option in OCO will only work if you already have the crypto you are willing to sell; it acts like take profit or stop loss, while the buy option, if you have funds in USDT with the pair BTCUSDT, then it would buy.

Based on your sample above, I think the limit order is enough with the advanced TP/SL.

Your setup should be like this

Code:
Price: $10
Take Profit: $20
Stop-loss: $8

From $5 once it hits $10 it will buy at that price with sell order at $8 and $20 any of this hits the total amount you buy from $10 will be sold at that price($8 or $20).

Im just doing spot, as I dont know how futures work too well so if you dont understand then you dont invest.

I read a blogpost last week stating that Bitcoin chart isn't bearish.

Although the Bitcoin chart appears like it's a double top formation on the high timeframe.

This was the formation it had before the breakdown in 2021.

I am just wondering if this time is different.

Are institutions and Government demands on Bitcoin able to save the chart this time?

Do let me know your thoughts.

yeah we have a crazyman messing up markets!
Cant stand listening but normal news just isnt; like when he said tariffs the markets for btc went to 75%and i panic sold for ammo instead of btc's, scarry times

1. What exchange are you using to trade?
2. Depending on the type of take profit or stop loss order, a reasonable trigger price is necessary for the limit TP or SL. Without it or if the price of the coins moves in any direction too first, it may not get filled in time even when triggered.

So please share those screenshots for better context.

Thanks guys this gives me a jumping off point

What do you think of using:
bollinger bands
awesome oscillator
and chopindex to find trades between 12 hrs and 5 gays?

I can sort of tell when something is going to happen but sometimes I think its going up instead of down.

Also learning fib retrace to make quicker trades rather cut losses and make more trades then waiting longer to avoid selling low to open up more cash to trade,

Why do people seem to think that it works like this?

I have offered many people who have asked me how to get into bitcoins then act surprised when its not 100% get rich quick?

And Im not trying to swindle, back before 2008 I actually just took my test for my 7 and 63 since I already held life, major med, annuities(thats whole life) LTC med supp etc.

Unfortunately my credit took a dive in the recession and with out a 700 fico they dont want you playing with others money. If you are looking to go remember the study guide is as thick as a new york phone book (google it if you are under 30, So if memorizing the phone book sounds boring dont go there.

Are there real"ser 7" crypto brokers besides the scam youtubers?

Re: So here is a coinbase order: does any one know why you get a rebate inusdc...

You are on to something... I signed up to coinbase 10 years ago, but didnt use my account in about 5 because hackers got into it. Well they didnt take everything, so I reopened my account and put some money into it and also signed up for the 29.99$ a month coinbase subscription. I really dont even understand what this is getting me because coinbase keeps lowering my fees based on how many trades I make.

But searching their fee scale they say nothing about this little bonus.

All I did was make a bunch of 10 or 100$ trades to basically paper trade but with real money. Not to make money but to learn for when I put real money into it.

That's the reason you subscribe to Coinbase one with monthly subscription and got 25% rebates and 4.5% APY  for holding USDC.

The link I provided is one of the benefits of Coinbase one subscription and here's what they said:
Quote
Join Coinbase One Premium and experience Coinbase without limits: zero trading fees with no caps, 25% back on all Coinbase Advanced spot fees, access to concierge support, boosted USDC and staking rewards on your full balance, higher account protection coverage, and more. Benefits vary by region.

So I guess the USDC rebates is due to your subscription.
There's no problem receiving USDC as rebates you can later trade it to USD inyo 1:1.

Why not chat the live CS to get more idea how you got rebates?

i signed upfor "zero trading fees) since this post I have paid close to 150$ in little 2.43 and 3.94  fees with a 0.24$ usdt rebate every time i limit order a small less then 400$ amount, also what the hell is concierge support? when I called cust serv the lady would read a quecard and I had to yell at her to stop reading the script telling me how antivirus and phishing worked. after two hours i hung up and did the opposite of what shw said and got up and running.

so now i have to add 30$ each month to break even. not doing this for fun its a job. need money im disabled,

Re: When Experts Get It Wrong: A Lesson from Today’s BTC Pump
by
lexinexi
on 23/05/2025, 21:29:45 UTC
I was in a Twitter Space today, listening to a very experienced trader. He confidently told everyone to short Bitcoin and altcoins, predicting that BTC was going to drop into the 90K range and that altcoins would dump hard.

Now, as we approach the end of the day, Bitcoin is pumping  already trading above $96K. At this point, it’s likely that his stop-loss was hit, or worse, he got liquidated.

It makes me wonder: how do even seasoned traders still get it wrong on intraday moves?

Let me know your thoughts.

I have coinbase in the US and it allows me to do 1000$ in futures but if I screw that up dont i owe coin base?

I think your topic suits more at the trading discussion section.
However based on your title, I would say you don't need any YouTuber to explain anything to you about trading, just go to the trading discussion board and you would get all that you need about trading.
NB: I don't usually encourage anyone to follow YouTube videos in terms of trading most of them are very deceitful so you must have a basic knowledge before following anything on YouTube otherwise you could be entirely lost while trying to follow them.

Thanks for the advice, Im pretty good at pattern recognition and not one cent would I spend on their :"Master trading course" or exclusive patrion.

There used to be a philipino guy who was really good  and if you watched his video whenit first came out you could mimic his trades.

I just have questions tht google cant answer like why the bollinger bands pinch before volatility or how to do little trades when the market is flat but having 5% swings to do a tp\sl.

Its like I know when the market is going to move but noy up or down,

also every time trump says some nonsense the markets panic and crypto unlike the early dys is tied loosely to the nyse etc...

It seems like every bitcoin youtube channels are the same:
RGB light in some goofy back ground
Two huge monitors with just random candles on them not paired with any averages bollinger bandsEMA etc. etc.

This one guy was showing how to day trade with areas of support and resistance and hes says "That how simple it is to make a trade!

But then I look at the chart which is out of focus and his CHART IS GOING BACK TWELVE MONTHS!!! ok YOU ARE GOING TO PUT IN A TP\SL AND WAIT A YEAR?

Wheres good old crypto nick and BITCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEECCCCTTT!!!

Yea so I was out of the game but found some money in my coinbase and im making little trades again, basically paper trading but adding real money as paper trading has no way to control you from panic selling or going all in just as it hits a 30 peak.

Then when Im in the green Ill put reaL MONEY IN IT.

Making sense of coinbase fees with real examples in Advanced mode:
by
lexinexi
on 31/03/2025, 12:27:30 UTC
So I have copied and pasted my coinbase account to find what the minimum I have to make to do day trading above the fees (*yes I know I will only be making maybe a few dollars each trade AND I KNOW that the time and effort would be better spent working at McDonadls (Why never burger king or wendy"s?) but I had my BTC stolen($~20,000 which would be $50,00 now) and I'm using what was left in my coinbase account that was dormant for years. Losing that much money hurt like losing your grandparents! Plus being disabled that was my income...

Anyways I have looked up all this stuff and I compiled A LOT of open questions where I have googled all this but. there is always that gray area where some traditional explanation are different for cryto. The coinbase explanations seem to be purposely vague and confusing. When I take my total assists at the beginning of a month (I measure my performance monthly) and subtract what I think the fees are its always lower meaning my trading bottom line keeps going up cutting into the paper thin profits

I also have the $29.99/month coinbase deal because it said NO FEES FOR THIRTY DAYS!!!! Well not quite there were fees, a lot of fees.
I don't even know what my $29.99 is doing. I'm guessing thats the 25% rebate meaning I have to do $29.99 X4 = $119.96 and over to cover the 29.99 I pay?

1st off when they say 25% rebate its not cash; it goes into USDC im guessing because they are doing some sort of insider trading vs giving you cash in your account.

Is it best to turn that into cash if its a bear market? Or does it not matter? Are there fees for doing that?
So futures is the BTC PERP? And does spot mean trading with a market order vs say a limit order?

I haven't used coinbnase in a few years but at the time you would ALWAYS use limit orders vs market orders as it was 0% taker and 0.15% taker fees, or around that.

I guess I like most normal people will be stuck in level two. I got there by selling and buying my whole balace repededly at a few do

Strange; I never heard of an exchange called Monaera. (Monero [XMR], is a crypto coin and thus not affiliated with them). In what year do you think it shuttered?

There is no link on google or anywhere. Do you remember the domain name by any chance?

PS. Newbies can't embed images but they can post a link to it.

OK maybe my seizure addleded brain came up with that.

Back in say 2015-2017 What were the bug names for exchanges? Im based in the US so it wouls have been english language.

I just remember sometime ago (years) the site saying it wasnt available in the US and it was , now Im second guessing myself :korea?

If I could find threads here I would know the name if I saw it.

Tried calling the bank and they were no healp my investigation continues.

Forget monera/o that must be my imagination.

But in 2016 if you didnt like coinbase but you needed a "professional" account to day trade what would you use?
