I haven't given up on them yet. Despite many scam ICOs emerging, I still believe that there are still projects that has great potential. One project I've been keeping an eye for now is NeuronChain. It gives me assurance because they have a working product already operative on mainnet.
ICO can be a good investment as long as you chose the right ones. One important thing that you should consider is checking if the team behind it has a good track record in the industry. Aside from that, one must check if that project can show their minimum viable product versus just making promises with a whitepaper.

I agree with this. Investing is so risky so one must do their own deep research. Also, that 100k tps operating on Mainnet is quite impressive

That sounds great. I heard that bitcoin can only do up to 7 transactions per second and Ethereum about 20
