Is this the wallet you'd sent that TX last year from? If it ever worked (on this computer) then you must have that folder somewhere, it's where your private keys and the blocks are stored. Note that I'm not saying the Library folder in the root level of your hard drive, but the one in your User folder, which MacOSX now hides by default. To get directly to it, pull down the Go menu and select Go to Folder... and then paste this in: ~/Library/Application Support/Florincoin

Thanks guys!

Found the folder and made the change you suggested Blocktechceo. The error message is now gone but the app fails to open at the "loading block index" part of the process.

I tried loading a new wallet (Florincoin Core version v0.10.4.0-824d84f (64-bit)) on a mac that never had  the florincoin wallet. I made a backup and copy of the wallet on the old mac that is giving me trouble and loaded the data from the old wallet into the new wallet. It seems like the new wallet updated the block index successfully. The only transaction still in limbo is the one I am trying to get back. BTW- The address that this transaction was sent to is my address so I can see that it was never received by that address.

Here is the transaction details as described in the new wallet (on the new mac).

find your florincoin.conf file (if you're on a mac it should be at ~/Library/Application Support/Florincoin/florincoin.conf, idk where it is on windows, hopefully someone else can fill that detail in if you are)
change
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
to
rpcallowip=192.168.0.0/16
save and close the file, and then try to open you wallet again

Thanks Blocktechceo- I don't have a folder for florincoin following that path. Is there a way for me to create one?

Help needed:

I sent a payment of Flroincoin and it seems to be stuck in limbo.  I couldn’t find the transaction confirmation in the blockchain.  It’s been over 1 year.   I am running mac os 10.10.5 and the version of the wallet is 0.8.7.4. I tried downloading version 0.10.4.0 to try to get the wallet to updatethe blockchain but I get the following error when I open it- “Invalid -rpcallowip subnet specification: 192.168.0.*. Valid are a single IP (e.g. 1.2.3.4), a network/netmask (e.g. 1.2.3.4/255.255.255.0) or a network/CIDR (e.g. 1.2.3.4/24)”

Any help for this newbie non-techy would be very much appreciated.

@worth and ursay

I really appreciate that you went into so much detail for somebody that isn't a contributor (yet) to the forum. This is very helpful information. Thank you!

I am trying to educate myself as I am just discovering the power of cryptocurrency and the blockchain.

This particular coin seems to show some promise with the projects that are being developed around it.

Thanks again.   Smiley

Newbie (new to bitcoin and alt) here-

I have started accumulating florincoin. I  have downloaded my coins to my desktop wallet.
What are my options to back up the wallet? Is a regular macintosh time capsule backup sufficient?

Are there any other wallet options worth considering?

Thank you all for this great thread!
