Yes, exactly. IMHO, these kinds of vehicles (private aircraft, yachts, etc.) require a stable multi-million or even billion-dollar wealth status. Single/double-digit millions won't be enough to properly maintain and enjoy them, and they can become more of a burden than a source of pleasure. There are different levels of Fuck-You status, and the "fuck" part can turn on you if you're not careful.
Yeah, you got it. It's why I keep reminding myself to NOT BUY A Cessna 337 Skywagon. I simply don't need it and it would just become a thing to spend money and time on.
So far I've found the best value to be in experiences. Fine food, travel, seeing new things, that sort of stuff. I have enough junk in my life.
A Bitcoin hodler should never dream of cheap planes. I’ll hodl until I can buy a Global 7500.
I have thought about something like this (someday a private jet), but to be honest someone is flying you and that's a step up I don't want to take.
Personal thought: Best way to travel is Economy Plus/Comfort Plus. The oversize seats are basically the old first class size, and while it's not quite as nice as the business class recline to bed seats, it's totally nice. Unless I am flying from Hawaii (the perfect pit stop) to AU/NZ I'll fly Economy plus. For that run I'll fly lay down and arrive nice and rested.
I've treated myself (that's the WO-sign we used a few years back, right?).
Well done.
Yes, that’s the infamous WO hand sign.
The new 911's are nice looking, and I went down to the Atlanta track to try one out.
They are.... just raw beasts. Whip you around like a roller coaster, turn off traction/stability control and they just beat you up with both the raw power and torque from those always on turbosuperchargers.
Maybe I'm getting old, but I guess I am comfortable with my classic Porsches. I have a small pony, a sprighty little cheetah, and a high speed barcalounger. I don't need a full sized fire breathing dragon.
Yeah, some of us are getting to that age. The key for me is to try and have a good death as well as a good life, and to remember all the great things about them while acknowleding the sadness that they will be gone. And the memories are good, you can pull them out and in that way they live on in you.
It is approximately certain that with in one decade, not Satoshi, but other holders can take the place.
With the rate at which we going, I don't think a single man can ever own up-to satoshi supposed holdings. Remaining coin to be mined is barely a million.
(Seriously, isn't it great? You can feel like a Greek God, off to meddle in the petty affairs of man.....)
Wish I could feel happy about the ATH. Dad died. Police came to tell me they found him in his apartment after residents called in because of a smell. Happened while I was on vacation in Italy. I really don't know what to feel, just keeping myself distracted.
Sorry to hear that GK: I do hope he had a great life, and died in a happy state. That's about the best we can hope for.
It's a good reminder though that at any time any of us can cash in our chips. Regardless on your thoughts of afterlifes, that's it for this chain, so try to enjoy life to the fullest and experience things such that you will have no regrets when you eternal banker shows up.
Wow, this brings back old memories. What happened to my "shelved shares" I wonder :-)
They were shelved - lol ... and wiz took a nice large txn to himself when everything closed down. Will be fun to see this happen on ocean as well
Ehh no. Final payment was made in 2017 to everyone left.
Go lie elsewhere scumbag.
Really? I seem to recall the "shelved shares" just vanished after not going for months with a pool hit. The stats page was down for a long time, then a 2.0 pool was brought up on the old addresses, then that went away.
I mean hey, shelved is shelved and a run of bad luck on the pool simply meant bad luck. Unless someone did an exit run (like they did on Eclipse).
It's annoying to look at substantial buys that trigger a ton of sells as soon as barely touching $112k right now. A bit more momentum and shorts would be eaten up in a short while.
