I'm surprised no one has mentioned Microcoin:

Algorithm: Scrypt-Jane Proof-Of-Work with modified nFactor
Block Time: 32 seconds
Max moneysupply: 100,000,000,000 MRC
No Premine

Quote
microCoin uses scrypt-jane POW mining with modified nFactor.
With the modified nFactor the coin will keep decreasing in GPU mining power
GPU mining power will slowly decrease and GPU mining will become a lot slower than it was during the start.
This period of mining overall helps close the gap between CPU and GPU mining, resulting in more profitable and fair mining rewards for CPU miners also.
GPU mining will still always be faster than CPU mining, but the modified nFactor will give microCoin more long-term scarcity and value.
microCoin aims to be a deflationary currency for investors. The microCoin dev team will set bounties and seek to make services for microCoin.
microCoin can equally be used as a long-term trading instrument for investors as well as a currency for shops, games and any other services.
The settings given at launch are most likely not the final specifications, since they can and most likely will be changed with a hardfork later on to add or change values.
microCoin will always be open to suggestions and will be modified based on popular requests.
All changes will be notified long beforehand and the safety of investors is always a primary concern.

I also vote for Potcoin, and again surprised no one mentioned; Darkcoin.

Vault of Satoshi is asking users what other coins should be added to their exchange.  I recommend we make MRC well represented.

I see some people complaining about performance decrease with the new nvidia driver, but I have found the opposite.  I have a pair of Gigabyte 770 OC 4GB and I am getting 40-60 KH/s more per card with the update.

can we get darkcoin support with cudaminer?

Agreed.  I was cpu mining it until that sgminer came out.  Diff is now well over 100, and my cpus are getting nothing.  Not to mention, the price of darkcoin right now is through the roof.  I have some, and would like to get alot more.  It is a fantastic coin with some cool stuff behind it.

I'm very much hoping to see a cudaminer for darkcoin so I can get mining it again.

Christian, please -- and this isn't completely related with coin mining -- if you have direct contact with Nvidia and Maxwell chip has indeed an ARM CPU, tell them to add an USB interface (or supply a separate USB hub that links to the first few PCI-e pins) and allow standalone operation. No motherboard, no Intel/AMD CPUs, no 4gb system RAM, no Windows. Just plug the PSU PCI-e power pins and the card boots ARM Linux from a connect usb pendrive

I'd like to add a bit to this request.  Could we also see a parallel port added to the video card.  If i'm going to run Linux, I'm going to need to print.

Ethernet port would be logical as well, so I can connect to the internet.

Maybe a few sata ports, so I can connect storage harddrives too.  If this is going to run an OS, it should allow me the ability to have decent storage, at a decent speed.  Sata is way faster than usb, even usb3.

And lastly audio output.  Both digital and analog.
Get lost. In this thread and forum, we're not talking about "videocards" but mining devices.

Except you're talking about a video card.  Last I checked, we were mining with cudaminer on....video cards.  Maxwell is the architecture of a GPU, on a video card.  Nvidia don't make mining devices.  They make video cards.

My post was a joke, so calm down.  You're asking Nvidia to turn their *gasp* video card into a standalone computer.  I found it funny you were requesting a company add USB ports to a *gasp* video card.

Any chance we could see a modified version of cudaminer that supports Darkcoin? Someone just released a version of sgminer that is compatible with its 11 algorithm rotation. It uses blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo.

The arrival of this sgminer has left anyone without amd cards behind, so it is no longer a cpu only coin.

Well shit, this sgminer is useless for me sine I use a pair of gtx 770s to mine.  My cpu will not be able to compete with the hashrates you guys will be getting.

Time to move on to another cpu coin for me.

And to those with the zlib1.dll error, it comes with the original sgminer and cgminer.   Just put zlib1.dll in the same folder as this sgminer and it will work.

Re: Is it a bad idea to have a rig that doubles as a gaming computer?
by

on 14/02/2014, 17:59:45 UTC
There are two types of computers I want, a gaming rig and a mining rig. So I thought, what if had both of them together? I was thinking of building a gaming rig of an i7, 8GB RAM, and 2x 7950's that would double as awesome gaming cards and mining cards. I just don't see anyone talking about gaming on their rig, so maybe I'm missing something. Is it a bad idea to do this?

That's what I do.  I turned my gaming rig into a miner.  I figure the computer is always on anyway, since it's also my media server, might as well have it mining when I am not actively using it.

I recommend having different OC profiles, in whatever software you use to control the video cards memclock, voltage, etc.  One for gaming, and one for mining.  Also don't forget to disable SLI/Crossfire when you are done gaming, as it messes with mining.

1045 khash/s for microCoin (MRC) on a 1000W PSU

GPU 0   526 khash/s   780ti SC
GPU 1   245 khash/s   660ti OEM
GPU 2   264 khash/s   660ti SC

-d 0,1,2 -i 0,0,0 --algo=scrypt-jane:MRC -C 0,1,1 -H 2,2,2 -m 1,1,1 -l T24x24,K7x32,K7x24 -R 3 -s 10 -L 1 -b 4096

I'm mining microcoin as well, on a pair of GTX770s.  Does the -L 1 -b 4096 make much of a performance difference?  I am getting about 350 KH/s per card.   I'm at work so I can't test it until I get home.  Just wondering if I should make any change.

So what is everyone mining right now?

I am mining some MicroCoin at the moment because I find the coin has potential.

A newly setup rig for a friend is test-mining Yacoin on some low end cards until the six GTX 660Ti cards arrive.

Christian

I'm mining microcoin as well.  I think it has some real potential how it's setup as well.  Got my two 4GB 770s on it.

I just took my generic scrypt .bat file and changed the algo to mrc, as per the readme.  Is there any other setting I should be changing to make them mine better?  I'm getting about 360 KH/s on each card, I'm getting just under 1 million MRC a day.

Also, thanks for all your work on cudaminer!!

They need to make that kind of lie so they can say "Can't send you bitcoins because we just look and it's unsafe" lol.
I'm so glad I stop using GOX few moths ago.

Go lower so I can buy a lot Grin But seriously, where did it hit 102$?

This.  Where is it 102?  I have some purchases to make.

On the machines that can't connect, can you open a browser to the IP:port of the computer that contains the wallet?  You should get a jsonrpc login request if it can connect.

Also when you open the wallet (I might be wrong) but I think you have to open it with the -server flag.  Are you doing this?

Re: [ANN] Middlecoin Monitor Android app
by

on 23/01/2014, 19:17:30 UTC
Thanks for the hard work you've put into this Smiley Yet to install it though.

Any chance you could change the styling so that it fits more inline with the direction in which modern Android apps are heading? That is, with the left side bar and a more standard colour theme. The blue is a little "in your face" Tongue Sort of like this guy's Middlecoin Android app:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259649.msg4574009#msg4574009

Will put an option to have standard color theme in next update.

UPDATE

There seems to be some issue in Play Store app because of which the app download is not working. Please install the app from your desktop/laptop using Chrome from the website https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.watcron.middlecoinmonitor which is working fine.

Thanks.

Still failing, even when doing a push from the website.  Same error.

Need to wait. If it is not resolved by tomorrow will provide an alternate download source.

It pushed to my HTC One no problem from the Play Store website.
