People who write about bitcoin being bad are most likely risk adverse. Because there are uncertainty and growth potential.
If one actually understands blockchain they know at least its a right investment. Its only because ICO are mostly scams, good project can truly go succeed.

Re: Safe, not expensive alt coin exchange

Hi I am looking for suggestions about crypto currencies exchanges that support alternative coins and don't have high fees like Coinbase(I know Coinbase doesn't support alt coins) has.  I have a Kraken account but they don't support some of the coins I would like to trade. Please consider security, alt coin support and fees. Thanks
Tux, Polo, Liqui... But you can go coinmarketcap and check the coin you want -> click on markets tab and see volumes.

I think this one should go to https://cryptocollider.com, it really is a unique website. Pay them a visit with a flash enabled browser and you'll see what I mean. What is the most innovative gambling/game website that accepts altcoins in your opinion.
I don't like it. Because it runs on flash and flash is very vulnerable and outdated Sad

Re: POLONIEX is holding my $6,439 USD hostage.
by
litaf
on 11/06/2017, 19:23:28 UTC
It seems that Poloniex will hold your money hostage unless you make a forum post about it.  See:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1893008.60
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1907457.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1907678.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1834015.0

So this forum post will stay up until Poloniex has returned my $6,439 USD.

A few days ago around May 10th, Poloniex experienced a DDoS attack and had trouble processing withdraws, understandable.  However a week later, people were still having trouble withdrawing.  So, on May 21st I tried a small withdraw of .001 btc.  Hardly a large amount and definitely not over any withdraw limit.  24 hours later, no response.  Mods in trollbox say to wait and be patient.  I file a support ticket.  Everyday I ask the mods to bump my support ticket and still no response from support.  So the way I see it there is a problem because Poloniex is not being transparent.  No one has any idea why Poloniex is freezing withdraws.  In anticipation of typical responses to this thread:

1) "You withdrew over your limit":  .001 BTC is hardly an amount that should trigger "OMG that's a huge withdraw!" flags.
2) "They usually respond in 24 hours, but resolution can take 3-5 days":  IT HAS BEEN 10 DAYS and not a single response not even in the first 24 hours. No explanation. None.
3) "I am having no problems withdrawing, you must be overreacting":  The problem is that poloniex is not being transparent about why they are holding withdraws.  This means that at any moment they might choose your account to be frozen too.  I was having no problems with withdrawing... until I did.

So after 10 days of asking poloniex to give me my money back, I am done.  I will check my wallet everyday for a successful withdraw.  If it does not, poloniex has officiallly stolen $6,439 USD of my money.

Well they will eventually give it back but they might just be super busy with other stuff... hopefully you get it soon.

Probably never. Looks interesting, but not much ppl know about it. I'm afraid  this will be another fallen project because of the lack of viable marketing strategy.
That sounds like something that will be ahead of its time... people are not so worried about quantum (YET) I think

I have had it happen twice where I placed an open order for SC (Siamcoin) to be sold, turned off my computer and then the next morning logged on to Poloniex and found that my open order had not been sold during the night when the price had established itself at the sell price I had placed.  Do I have to be logged on to Poloniex in order for an open order to be placed?

Scott

No you dont have to be online, but that could be a glitch or maybe ht order did not go through with polo.

Re: TRADING PARTNER
by
litaf
on 03/06/2017, 03:24:08 UTC
Looks like most people didn't get my point. Sorry if i was a bit ambiguous.

I was looking for only one of the three options i provided earlier.

1. its either we are partners (trade using our own capital or any agreement favorable to both parties, do analysis and trade on a
single / multiple accounts to maximize gains.

In terms of risk, we share the risk together which is very well calculated and incorporated in the trading system.
(No one can be 100% correct but its important to take advantage of the few opportunities that come)

or

2. I provide you signals to buy/sell and you pay me for that forgoing any form of single account or doing analysis together. (guessing this is where most people freaked out)

A typical trade setup could last 1-4 weeks meaning very few trades (1-4) in a month. Not looking to trade much within a month but waiting patiently for the best opportunities that comes.

Moreover looks like i have finally decided to get back to trading with a small team that shares my trading ideology. (Hoping for the best  Grin)

Thank you.

Track record? how is anyone able to trust you if you dont have anything to back up your performance? I'd be interested but I'd have to see some actual performance stats before I'd jump in with you and pay you for your analysis.

Re: So I want to get into trading.
by
litaf

If you think it is too high only buy a small amount with a plan to buy more if it goes lower. This way you will at least have some if it goes higher.

This seems a good idea, and in fact I use to do it. For example, if I want to start buying ethereum but the price seems too high, I start by buying a fraction of what I am willing to spend. If I have $200 to buy Eth, I only buy $20 expecting a better price to buy more, but if instead of lowering the price keeps going up, I keep buying minimum but consistent amounts.
This is a good idea. I've read about some investors in the stock market buy stocks periodically. If someone were to buy $1200 worth of shares in a company, they will buy $100 worth of shares each month. that way if the stock price fluctuates, they are able to purchase the stock at a lower average price. The only disadvantage is that you are sacrificing some profit for more safety.

Re: When do YOU sell?

I have a calculated stop loss that I determine from significant price levels and trading volume. I size my positions according to this stop loss level. On each trade I risk only 1.25% of my capital. I generally look for trades where I can get 2 or higher risk reward ratio.

Re: I have about 50$ where to invest ?
by
litaf
on 03/06/2017, 01:01:13 UTC
actually $50 is a very little amount for investing.so you can try earn from this forum by social and signature campaign.and when it will a big amount then invest in only high ranked coin. Xrp,eth, and also i suggest you to buy waves coin.bedt off luck

It is a small amount but if you know on how you will invest that money, you can grow that in no time. Investing to different alt coins or certain alt coin like ETH will give you a certain amount of profit. Actually there are a lot of choices in the crypto market and you just need to do the math or where you are comfortable to invest.
I would invest it all into altcoins while joining a signature campaign. Cryptomarkets have a huge selection of altcoin but only some of them have potential. a lot of altcoins are useless and are used to scam ICO investors. if you pick the wrong coin, dont expect to get your money back. That being said, if you do your research, you can make huge profit by picking the right altcoin to invest in.

Investing btc is a very good decesion because your money will multiple. To the traders it is benificial to them to invest money.its the fastest  way of a trading transactoin now.
He asked something else if you care to reach the actual topic and not just the heading of it.
We all know investment in bitcoins is a good choice but that is very risky too and he wants to know how to avoid that risk, I personally feel the same but then there is no solution too and if there are no price changes then there would be no fun too. Its like friction, necessary evil.
If there is no risk, then there will be no reward. Risk is a natural part of trading and investing. Risk to investing is like shadow to light. Its always going to be there whether you like it or not. You just have to manage your risk and keep it under your calculations.

Re: Bitcoin up altcoin dump
by
litaf
on 03/06/2017, 00:52:54 UTC
yes it is simple that when btc goes up alt coin price goes down. but not sure all time will occcur the same thing with all alt coin. Some alt coin which has high value and ranked  these follow the btc.when btc goes up they also go up. Maximum time when btc up alt down. so it is the best time to collect some alt coim for holding.
Usually if btc goes up, altcoins will go up as well. the price movements of altcoins tend to parallel bitcoin. I think its because the success of bitcoin also increases the success of other altcoins. If people see bitcoin doing well, they will tend to be more optimistic about the concept of cryptocurrency and buy altcoins.

Re: which coin is best for tradding???
by
litaf
on 03/06/2017, 00:50:29 UTC
hey.. i am new here...now i am start a tradding bt i dont know which coin best for tradding...anyone can suggest me...
You do not have to rely much on suggestions but you have to start reading about different coins and about the market. There are a number of suggestions to you so first you have to study about all of them and then think that which coin is better for you to invest and which coin has the potential to increase in value.
There isnt really a coin that is best for trading. each coin has its own fundamental advantages and disadvantages. some coins only rise because of sudden hype without any fundamental value. It is just how the market works. You have to find the coin that is most suitable for you.

You should stop trading. It seems like you do not meet the skill requirement to make money in this market. Dont give up though, you should first practice your skills with demo accounts and then move up from there. Trading is a skill that requires patience and time to develop. Good luck.
