Oops. OK... newbie messaging enabled. Roll Eyes

Hi all.
After several hours of reading this forum from around page 250 to found a cure to my problem and to don`t waist your time with "maybe" trivial questions I get to the conclusion that I cant solve this problem alone.
So since day 1 I got some issues with hashrate. I am using 6x Sapphire nitro+ rx 580 8gb gpu and getting 17Mh/s a card mining Eth using eth miner which  is very low and I realized its even abnormal. This hasrate even after I used the oc settings, before oc I got around 14-15 Mh/s. After 3 days of mining nothing was changed, the only good news, the system was stable. After reading this forum I found out that there was the Dagfix issue with rx cards so I used the red icon on the console to update the os with the dagfix. Since than no rig. I know, now I have to reflash the original os to the usb and reboot the system with it but probably this not solve my original problem of very low performance. (Also I tried the cards in windows and without bios and oc flash they are pulling 24Mh/s each.
Hope someone can point me to the root of this problem. Cheers.
I write this 2 days ago so now its day 5 and this "NOT" so simple os  is still not going well. The 2 gentleman "Mister 305" and "logicassets" who offered to PM them, can you please enable to receive private messages from newbies.
Since than myself get to the conclusion, to get normal hashrate like in windows maybe is to get the dagfix, but since the red cloud button is crashing my system and do not fix it I started to look alternatives. To update manually the os in the pen drive. So now, anyone can please, point  me to a step by step guide how to flash the dagfix to the os. Keep in mind I am not a linux programmer thats why I need  a detailed guide, what I could not found on this topic.
Thank you.

SMos fee is $2/mo... cheap. Claymore fee is 1% eth only and 2% dual mine, but Claymore takes this automatically when you run the miner. Claymore will pause mining for you to mine for Claymore either 1% or 2% of the time... hence automatic.

Website: http://simplemining.net

What is SimpleMining OS (SMOS) ?
It is nice looking and easy Operating system for mining on AMD GPUs

Most wanted info:
- idea is simple: download for free my OS and write it to any drive: Hard / SSD / even USB drive
- after that you just enter your email address in config.txt file and boot your rig
- login to simplemining.net dashboard using the same email and start managing your rig Smiley
- you can test it for free and then you need to pay only 2$ per rig per month
- if there will be new miner i will implement it fast with auto-updates system

Requirements:
- R OS = AMD GPUs R300/R200/HD7xxx series
- RX OS = AMD GPUs RX400/RX500 series
- NV OS = Nvidia GPUs (alsmost all of them)
- hard drive / ssd / usb drive - it must be 7GB or bigger
- at least 1-4GB system memory (depend how much GPUs are you using and what miner)

About me
- I am linux admin for about 13 years and crypto miner for 5 years
- Linux, programming, scripting, mining are my hobbies Smiley
- i am honest and simple IT guy who whants to make world better and give something to it

Video

Does the $2 per month per rig fee also cover the claymore miner use fee? Or do we still have to pony up the 10% usage fee for claymore?

3930 and 4GB are enough, but I've only heard of people running up to 13 per rig on SmOS, B250 or not. With the B250, you must run 6 x P106 mining cards to get up to 19, and due to overall power complications, even with this possibility, success is rare.

Can you run 19 GPU's (ASUS B250 Mining Expert) with SMOS?

Is Intel celeron G3930 enough for 19 gpu's and 4 GB of RAM, is that enough?

For the record, you were pinging and tracerouting to the interface on a content delivery network, Cloudflare; not the actual SmOS server which is being updated.

some news about maintenance ?

I did the error to reset my rig ... and is stil in "attemp to connect to simplemining.net" ...

No mining for today ??

There is no isseu at the webhoster... Lets hope simplemining fix this issue asap

Thank you for these consistent improvements, Tytanick! My SmOS rigs are running stable on 10.2, while my Windows rigs have been down for over 10 hours because Nicehash was perhaps hacked... internal wallet  (gulp).  Shocked

Awesome Tytanick! I have been using SMOS for several months now and just wanted to say thanks! It really has been flawless and works better than any of the other linux based mining OS's out there.
Great job and keep up the great work!
Yeah thx.
Still it is getting to be more and more complicated to mantain from my point of view Cheesy
Linux is better over winows in mater of server usage/mass mining usage.
Still linux rapped in simplemining box is more user friendly becasue i know how hard is for average user to start with linux Smiley
Also there is merging one more operating system which ended their ICO - its EasyMine and they are in closed beta stage.
Could be very similar project to mine. They are also from Poland but i never talked with them.

I am currently focusing from month on Extension Boards and SRR new firmware.
It will have a lot more features and some rare bugs fixed Smiley

About adding new miners, i really dont want to add every single miner out there.
It is already too much of them so i am adding slowly only those which are most wanted like DSTM or new claymore versions.
more miners = more mess = more complicated.

Thank you for updates like this! Otherwise, I wouldn't have known to switch over to 10.2. Cheers!

Is there any news from adding new dstm's mimner to SMOS. Even it has %2 dev fee, for 1060 it is %3-4 faster then EBWF's miner.

It was added earlier today, switched a few rigs over to it ... looks like I might have to tweak a few OC settings as its continually resetting the server difficulty level and few cards are stopping. The console read-outs in SMOS look a little weird at times.

Tytanick also added an updated Claymore miner.

Both G3900 and 4400 have integrated graphics, so make sure you can post without any GPU's installed first. Any PCIE slot will work for mining because it only requires a single lane, PCIEx1.

If it can't even get to post on internal or discrete GPU and on different MB, there is a problem with the build. What CPU did you install?

Just returned my h110 pro btc, no display from internal or external graphics. Tried cmos clean and everything else but no result. Think it has faulty but others hade theres one working fine. Did yours start ok on the first try? Cheers

I have 3 miners running on H110 with a total of 39 GPU. no issues. runs great.

May I ask how much ram do you install in your 13-gpus rig ?
Could I use 4gb ram or should I use 8gb or 16gb ram ?

and any recommendation for cpu or they all do the same ?

Thank you.
I tried with 4,8,16 gb Ram and everything else but don t get display from internal or external graphics. Got a replacement for it but still nothing. I m starting to think I m to blame:)
Hi. G3900 and 4400. In the manual:" use PCIE 2" . I ve read that others used a diferent PCIE slot and it worked. I'm going to give it one more try and if not, Asus Z270 A Smiley

For the rig that you want to control, go to the Rig Group that the rig is assigned and click the setting symbol (Miner programs) and change the strings for Claymore. Then Save, and you're done. Easy.  Cool

How do I add parameters to claymore? If i know how then I will switch my entire mining farm to SMOS.. This is the only reason why i havent switched yet. For example, how can I add "-mvddc 900 -cvddc 900 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2150"

For Eth-only, -dcri does nothing unless you are using -asm. From Claymore:

-dcri   Decred/Siacoin/Lbry/Pascal intensity, or Ethereum fine-tuning value in ETH-only ASM mode. Default value is 30, you can adjust this value to get the best Decred/Siacoin/Lbry mining speed without reducing Ethereum mining speed.
You can also specify values for every card, for example "-dcri 30,100,50".
You can change the intensity in runtime with "+" and "-" keys and check current statistics with "s" key.
For example, by default (-dcri 30) 390 card shows 29MH/s for Ethereum and 440MH/s for Decred. Setting -dcri 70 causes 24MH/s for Ethereum and 850MH/s for Decred.

-asm   (AMD cards only) enables assembler GPU kernels. In this mode some tuning is required even in ETH-only mode, use "-dcri" option or or "+/-" keys in runtime to set best speed.
Currently ETH-LBRY mode is not supported in assembler.
Specify "-asm 0" to disable this option. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-asm 0,1,0". Default value is "1".
If ASM mode is enabled, miner must show "GPU #x: algorithm ASM" at startup.
Check "FINE-TUNING" section below for additional notes.
NEW: added alternative assembler kernels for Tonga and Polaris cards for ETH-only mode. Use them if you get best speed at "-dcri 1" (i.e. you cannot find speed peak), use "-asm 2" option to enable this mode.

Feel free to experiment. Results will vary. Wink

You parameter [-dcri 5] is for dual mining. A ~1mh per GPU difference from windows to Linux is normal. Your hashrate is fine.

29.66mhs (ETH) per RX470 when dual mining is as good as it gets. What's your hash on eth only?

hey guys im using this amazing simpleminning but im trying to get most of my rig so needed an advice for overclocing for fulll hashrate

i own 6 Saphire RX 470 8gb hynix memory

i managed to get it 178hash but is there possibility for more without any issue ofc.

my settings are

core mhz: 1150
mem mhz: 2150

Core Unvervolting: 900

powerstage 6

-epsw x -tstop 75 -dcri 5

any expert can help me out with this please

its same mate 180hash just when i started on simplemine it droped to 178hash

btw im minning only Ethereum Classic ETC atm no dual nothing

aha but im not dual minning when i use this dcri 5 it incresses the hashrate but should i remove it or use another number instead

18mh is low. My 13-GPU rig has almost identical hardware (stock G3930 & cooler, 8gb gskill DRAM), and does 31.2mh per card. Go to 1stminingrig.com, and do your homework.

Hello.
I need help, I just installed SimpleMining OS

Got
4 x RX 580 nitro+
Asrock H110
Corsair HX1200i
Celeron G3900
Crucial Ballistix 4GB ddr4

Quote
-wd 1 -r 1 -epool stratum+tcp://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal $walletETH/$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -mport -3333 -asm 1

and I am getting 18mhs, how it's possible? What can I do?
Thanks for everything

SMOS is constantly resetting miner and rig after installing 7th GPU.

Any ideas? How to fix this issue?

It was working fine with 4 GPUs but when I plugged 7 in total, it's resetting the GPUs constantly.

Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot!
replace risers
in 90% - help!
have 6 rigs with differents gpus fom 8 to 12 each

many times i constcuct new rigs, i have situation as you describe - at the end always solutions was - replace risers or replace pci-e splitter

LOL same risers work under Windows.

LOL the same risers under Windows you're complaining about in the MSI Afterburner thread?  Tongue

Hi there, I am having a weird issue.

I have Win10 installed and fully updated to latest stable one.
On this rig I use 7 x 1080TI cards however a few hours later I start the windows, some GPUs randomly drops from MSI Afterburner and becomes uncontrollable like in the image.

Image: https://ibb.co/ciFZ3R

You can see that 1st GPU dropped now. It happens randomly and this is really boring.

Anyone can have a solution for me?

Thanks a lot.

So you genius guy think MSI Afterburner issue is related to risers?  Cheesy Cheesy

So you think it's not?  Cool

Not GPU's posted. Check risers first. Start with one GPU and increment... literally.

Hey guys, I'm having this very strange and odd behavior on my first 12 GPU rig (TB250-BTC PRO, 1070's). The bios is set up properly, the USB flashed with the latest SMOS but the only thing I get after power-on and ubuntu startup is the following screen with non-ending repeating message... No updates starting, the rig obviously not visible in the web console. I spent the whole day trying all possible stuff... I would appreciate any kind of helping hand here. Thank y alot.

Screen shows:

"there is no screen to be attached matching miner" is no gpu's recognized. Does your bios recognize the gpu's? If not, check risers.

Hi, I'm building my first mining rig. I've updated the bios to the latest version I've found on the manufacturers webpage. I've followed the instructions on SimpleMining.net and flashed USB stick (Adata UV150/16GB USB 3.0) with NVidia version of SMOS using Etcher tool. I've got the expected result: two partitions, one of which contains config.txt file. The problem is that when I plug it into the motherboard (Biostar TB250 BTC Pro ver 6.0) it's not recognized. When I turn it on the bios is loaded and the "boot option priorities" setting is disabled.

When I flash same USB stick with Ubuntu and plug it in, it is recognized - although when "mining mode" is enabled in bios nothing happens after I select "try ubuntu without installing" or "install ubuntu".

How can I fix it so the SMOS boots on my setup?

EDIT: Ok, actually I've played with a bios settings and now it's booting. Unfortunately I'm getting "there is no screen to be attached matching miner" msg. Any solution to this?
