Re: When can we expect the bull run again ?
by

As we had seen last year, the price of bitcoin went exceptionally up in a very less period of time. Many sold at high, many bought at high. There are people who are holding since they bought at high like $17k including me who bought at lesser yet enough high at $13k. Can we expect a similar or better high this year ?

no one can give you an answer. If you want to be listening to speculations to make you feel better, than it seems you have nothing better to do man. Just be reasonable....

Re: Could India push bitcoin to the MOON ?

With RBI reversing its crypto ban in India or changing statements to consider it as a commodity, do you guys think India could push the price to the moon ?

India is a huge country, if there is a growth in demand for bitcoin in there the price could go up. But bitcoin is not reliant on countries like India, people can buy bitcoin from anywhere

decentralization is the key aspect. also a transparency. Whatever happens on blockchain, you can see that. And whatever you see, you can fully trust it as it was confirmed by certain amount of miners

Not only the volatility but also the legalities of bitcoin, because other people wants a legal investment they want to be sure that the money they invest is super safe before they invest.

yes, that is mostly the case and that's why we're yet to be fully adopted worldwide. Right now mostly innovative people and eager speculatros are in the crypto only, majority is yet to come

Re: Awareness is the biggest influence.
by

on 13/07/2018, 07:11:53 UTC
For now, BTC is such h huge digital currency, that it needs no sort of introduction because it is known to millions of people throughout the world and the centralization of bitcoin by the government could be the biggest awareness for the cryptocurrency. Other methods by which we can create awareness among people is by organising debates, campaign, printing pamphlets, hoardings and introduction of cryptocurrency to the youth could prove the great awareness for BTC because youth and cyrptos, both are asset for the planet.

that's completely wrong that btc needs no introduction at all. It needs to be promoted as much as possible. People usually heard about it, but they have never considered using it

My fear.

Is not that Nigeria lacking behind?. Hell shouldn't be.  I see lome Africans growing faster and faster when it comes to bitcoin utilization but here in Nigeria reverse is the case.

I can imagine people have different worries in Nigeria than crypto, but I know there are some people people dealing with cryptocurrencies and I'm sure their number will grow in time

Re: JPMorgan internal report: Bitcoin is here to stay

JPMorganPMorgan has predicted that cryptocurrencies, such as Ripple, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Dash, Litcoin, etc. are here to stay. The observation has been mentioned in an internal report of the American multinational investment bank and financial services company, headquartered in New York City.
The internal report fully contradicts the publicly-held opinions of the company related to cryptocurrency. Earlier in 2016, the company's CEO Jamie Dimon had called Bitcoin a "fraud," before being sued for his statement.
According to the JPMorgan internal report, the cryptocurrencies prices would continue to fluctuate and face volatility. The report seems to have quite a positive outlook towards blockchain, the technology behind cryptocurrency. It noted that blockchain appeared to have a promising future once the loopholes were fixed in the technology.

Investors would invest in it for decentralization, and they'd continue to thrive and evolve with the peer to peer networks and the nature of anonymity of virtual currencies, the report said.

Every crypto enthusiast is eagerly awaiting to see whether the company's public opinion on the issue also changes with time. The increased volatility and the current market scenario are making investors feel skeptical about the future of digital currencies. However, with a million dollar market cap most of the cryptocurrencies would not fail. That is why the majority of investors and crypto enthusiasts believe that cryptocurrencies are here to stay even if they remain stagnant for a while.

Most of the investors are holding digital currencies for a lengthy period. This could be the major reason behind investors not liquidating despite major plunge in crypto market. It is easy to support cryptocurrencies when the market is down and investors are backing it. We have to wait to see whether JPMorgan comes out in support of cryptocurrencies publicly in due course of time or not.
https://bcfocus.com/news/jpmorgan-internal-report-ripple-bitcoin-ethereum-cardano-dash-litcoin-are-here-to-stay/17602/

It doesn't happen a lot we see a news telling a bank is talking positively about the crypto market. Jamie Dimon is surely going to fire some guys for this report  Grin I wonder if he may change his mind and remove the ban regarding the purchases of cryptos with a credit card, and who knows why not starting to accept Bitcoin transactions....

They're here to stay, regulators are making this pretty clear Smiley The question is what roles are they going to play within society, that is yet to be determined. Let's hope they won't get centralized

Re: Bitcoin mining is costly...
by

One thing to say mining bitcoin consumes a large amount of electricity and it would take lots of equipment to manned the mining. There should be a development in making the cost of bitcoin lower; given that lower mining cost could yield a higher profit. However, it matters on trading and exchanges.

that wouldn't make any difference as it always depends on the amount of miners and their hashing powers. If the costs were lower, than more people would have mined and the result would be the same

https://blog.bitspark.io/why-is-bitcoin-making-the-world-go-crazy/

Bitcoin is not making world to go crazy, because still seemingly only 1% of people own some cryptocurrencies. When we reach 50% or more, then let's discuss some worldwide craziness.

Hard wallet is best to store bitcoin. But it cost money to purchase a hard wallet

spot on. It costs some money, but if you're dealing with crypto on every day basis, it's not so such for it be an excuse. Can't be cheap to spend few tens of USD on ledger wallet.

Re: DECENTRALIZED OR CENTRALIZED?
by
longwintershere
on 11/07/2018, 15:57:54 UTC

Many individuals agree and have the same opinion about bitcoin as decentralized digital asset, a system without a central bank or single administrator is more favourable.
But somehow, numerous citizens want also the bitcoin to be centralized, because others believes it can remove barricades and walls to allow more easily reached and democratized financial and economic infrastructure.
For you what is your own perspective regarding this matter?

Decentralization is the most attractive aspect of bitcoin and blockchain for me. Finally every average Joe can have the power in his hands and doesn't need to be told what to do

Re: Can blockchain ever be environmentally friendly
by
longwintershere
on 11/07/2018, 15:56:42 UTC
"I’m sure most of you have seen the news about Bitcoin’s energy consumption. For instance, in Iceland, more energy is used to mine Bitcoin than to power people’s homes and per day the global Bitcoin network now consumes more energy than Ireland. Hence, we chose to build on the Stellar network as it is the most environmentally friendly blockchain available. For comparison, a transaction on the Stellar network only uses 0.03 Wh whereas VISA uses 1.69 Wh per transaction. Clearly, the Stellar blockchain is the perfect technology partner for our platform."

blockchain and bitcoin are two different things. Bitcoin can hardly be environmentally friendly, but blockchain can be so very easily. Just see PoS concepts and coins, they don't require much additional energy to be wasted.

Why are there so many scam bounties out there and how are we to know which is scam or not
actually I think the amount of scam bounty is lower than how it's being presented. Because you people complain that bounty is scam even if they only take few more weeks to distribute the tokens..

Re: Is it worth buying low-volume tokens?
by
longwintershere
on 10/07/2018, 11:22:25 UTC
I noticed this phenomenon. Often someone buys up all the proposed tokens with a small amount of trading (for example, look at SMT on hitbtc this night), and after a few days these tokens go up in price very much. Is it worth buying such a token?

Always see the project, development team, core idea, community response. If all of these features are found in a particular token then buy that token and hold it.It may be undervalue at that time but with increasing community response its value may increase tremendously.Always select the best project based token.

All tokens are starting as low volume, but only some of them manage to increase the volumes and market caps. If you find the right project, you will be very happy person Smiley

Really shocking news of Bancor Exchnager. $12.5 million worth of ethereum and $1 million worth of  Pundi X has been stolen. They published this news on their twitter page. And I collect this news from CNBC website. It will affect on market. Really this is shocking.

it will affect the market only on short terms basis, nothing substantial you would remember in few days. But it's of course bad for the users, I hope their get their funds back

Re: Why you should stay off from market prediction
by
longwintershere
on 10/07/2018, 10:47:33 UTC
As an investor one thing you shouldn't engage yourself with is Predictions, if you want to be successfully in this Crypto ecosystem, you need to stay off any form of market prediction.

Here are few reasons why you shouldn't engaged with it (market/price prediction)

1. Predictions can be wrong

2. Listening to predictions makes you a speculator

3. Listening to predictions makes you an onlooker

4. Price prediction gives you nothing for today, only false hope

5. Listening to price prediction makes you think in one direction

Finally

Don’t let speculation and assumption make you decide what to do.

absolutely. I see no reason why someone who can predict the future would share that with anyone else. Only thing I can think of is that they're just trying to manipulate the markets...

Re: Most Crypto investors are Cowards
by
longwintershere
on 10/07/2018, 10:46:52 UTC
The answer is just simple, we all are cowards  Smiley. Everyone will like to wake up one day and find out that Btc has reached 50,000. All these people are scared to invest hugely in bitcoin but want to become  Crypto millionaire and Billionaire. You ask them why they are scared and they are like crypto is volatile and so on. This is the time to set the record straight make people realize what they are into. If you are scared then there is no need for you to join this amazing fraternity Smiley.

I wouldn't say cowards but safe players. They don't want to take risks because of the impending doom of losing everything overshadows their interest to invest. I don't blame them for playing safe but it is such a waste of a good investment to pass.

playing safe is not a problem, but the thing is that there are too many uneducated investors who have nothing else on their agenda than selling due to panic and complain on forums...

I'm especially excited about the opportunities that are giving the power back to the hands of people instead of lucky few. Like the options to sell your own data directly, that is really cool way to streamline passive income.
