are you saying, if I had a text file with 400,000 lines of text (guesses), you could turn them all into public addresses and know in 1 second if any of these 400k are interesting?

thanks why I think, ironically, bitcoin will take off when there are 'bitcoin banks' that insure your coins
not that this helps you, but for the future , I would never run any of this stuff on a computer that has my wallet. I bought a 2nd pc to mine on, and run these things.... the wallet stays on my 'safe' computer

That's how any currency starts doesn't it??The issuer (government) starts with the goodies and the participants (plebs) decide to use what is on offer. I don't see the difference.
the difference is, the government is backed by an army. Opencoin INC can be sued, shut down, etc
