yep, and it allows easy attachment of information in every transaction, a feature that could add an extra degree of mainstream usability to namecoins in a merchant atmosphere by allowing easy confirmation of payment, and stripping anonymity of payment when desired by both transacting parties.  

Agreed. 

The only other coins (besides bitcoin, which wins by virtue of being older, proven, and noteworthy) worth the time IMHO are Litecoins, Namecoins, and  Devcoins which each bring something special to the table.  I see most other cryptos as cheap spinoffs doomed to fail.

why sell through paypal?

Well, they are shipping now....
But scam or not, they're a shitty enterprise that dangled their customers for a year, used pre-orders to finance development, and cheated people out of a crazy profitable run.

I actually feel that several of the other alt coins out there may have more potential than bitcoin even.  Litecoin for example is almost identical to bitcoin fundamentally, but can be transacted in 2.5 min to bitcoin's 10.  I also personally feel that alt coins with higher market caps may fare better in the long run, as they will run into fewer psychological barriers associated with high unit price.

That's not to say that the market isn't oversaturated with cryptocurrencies.  We need to see several of them fail.
