Why is there a delayed "manual withdrawal" requirement for trivial withdrawal amounts?
If we've being charged above and beyond the normal amount for "network fees" shouldn't we have quicker withdraws or at least a sense of when our withdrawal will be initiated/done?

Just wanted to say that I recently started using this service for the first time, sending a small BTC deposit to sell.
OP / sayulita pleasantly surprised me with great communication and also two sales were quickly processed today, resulting in two cash deposits in one of my bank accounts.
So it's so far so good for me, and for now, I will continue using this service.

I had a bit of a lag while the site was executing a large trade and I got the cloudflare popup for a couple of minutes. It looks like trade execution itself is not affected. Hoping the server move goes smooth.
Have to say though, using the service for the first time, both ACH and Dwolla withdraws went smooth and the ACH showed up on the 2nd business day (as promised) while Dwolla was near-instant.

Temporary site troubles aside, I have used and currently use Havelock and find it has the combination of the best interface and the least "fluff" in terms of securities.
Can also vouch for lightbox, owner/operator of Havelock. He is the most accessible of the 3 exchange operators - almost always available on IRC to chat, or you can even contact him by phone. I've also completed a larger transaction successfully with him on something unrelated to Havelock.

If you go to the support forums on the bfl site, there is a link to their blog where they post daily updates of shipments of orders with details of what date orders were placed on are being released.

They're not going by order number, they're going by payment date. So if your order number was 11,000 but you didn't pay til jan 2013, that's where you are in the queue.
Mine was a September 10 pre-order, and it shipped yesterday. I was going to pull up the order number, but because they shipped it, it's no longer listed in their site.

you seriously underestimate how organized an activity it is. Many promoters are running private chat rooms where they plot strategy and direct their 'troops'
Perhaps, but there's always a source of fresh recruits you'll get automatically get once they've bought in and have a stake in the program.

13. You don't actually need to do any work creating the fanbois - the fanbois will come.
All you need to do is to create a semi-decent thread in bitcointalk->Securities and then get your issue as quick as possible on either BTCTC or BitFunder ASAP.
The moment you get your issue officially on either exchange then you are now in the clear.
Success! Your issue is now trading, you are now "legit" and the fanbois will come from your initial purchasers. And with each post you add to your thread, you will have the added security of your fanbois attacking detractors and defending you, making your work easier.

10. It doesn't matter how many mistakes/failed issues you've had in the past. All is forgiven and should be. Questions about the past are ignored/brushed aside as irrelevant and changing the topic. Let's keep the topic on the current issue please.
11. When questioned about lofty valuation or high management fees, appear to be above it all and try to justify it with as many reasons as possible. Including that it's a lot of work and time commitment. Never talk about the real reason why your issue has unjustified valuation or management fees, which is really that you want to MAKE MONEY.
12. Create press releases on a regular schedule to bump your own issue thread. It doesn't matter if the press release has any substance to it, so long as it has a decent amount of text. Be mysterious and create suspense/hype as you drop hints about future exciting announcements/press releases, also using these to bump your own thread.

1. Come up with an edgy name that sounds shady or has shady elements (i.e. Pirate, Nefario, Thieves, Diablo, PsychoticBoy, DeadTerra, Slaughter, Nasty, Deprived)
2. If not an edgy name, have a weird name (i.e. friedcat, usagi)
3. Have character and an ego. Have a blog that shows that you are edgy/weird (i.e. Mircea Popescu, furuknap)
4. Be able to write a slick first post of a thread with lots of hype and basically imply that if someone doesn't invest with you they are missing out BIG TIME. Basically be a great salesman.
5. Be able to spend x # of hours on bitcointalk so that you can defend your security/securities against a) other issuers and b) experienced investors. It does not really matter the content of your posts so long as your posts have enough text to seem to make sense. And also you tend to get the last word in.

also where the hell else can you get something that pays 20%+ a year in returns AND where you own a share in the company.
AND be holding it in a currency which has a good chance to appreciate AND receive dividends in that currency.

^There seems to be a lot of people figuring out that these are valuable shares.
My take is this....
The purchase price is in bitcoins, and you get paid dividends in bitcoins, and the price of bitcoins is generally going up up up.
Basically, I parked some of my bitcoins there by buying shares....those shares are going up in price, and the price of bitcoins is rising as well.
So really you are getting paid multiple benefits for bitcoins that would be sitting in a storage wallet anyway...the only thing you are doing is assuming some small amount of risk.
When you look at who is running the exchanges (burnside etc.) and how they have set things up, and you read about him that small amount of risk seems very acceptable to me.

This. Plus it's also a slight hedge against a falling BTC/USD price because even if the price dips, so long as ASICMINER's value stays constant or goes up, you are still earning "interest" (aka dividends) and gaining more BTC vs. just holding BTC and getting nothing for it.
Trading Fees:
- Bitfunder: 1-0.5% for buyer
- BTCT.co: 0.2-0.25% for buyer and seller
- Bitfunder: 1-0.5% for buyer
- BTCT.co: 0.2-0.25% for buyer and seller
Buys on BitFunder are free - fees are only incurred when selling.
BTCT charges 0.2-0.25% for a buy and 0.2-0.25% for a sell, so a buy and sell would add up to 0.4-0.5%.
BTCT also charges fees for BTC withdrawal while BitFunder does not.
BitFunder also requires that any BTC in/out go through an extra layer service called WeExchange while BTCT allows direct deposit/withdrawal of BTC. Some argue that the WeExchange service is an extra hassle, while some say it provides an extra layer of protection (if your BitFunder account is hacked then the only way for BTC to get withdrawn is through WeExchange).

Just got offered to buy my 20K ripples / XRP from two separate people on this forum. Not going to mention names but they're probably PMing everyone in the giveaway thread or whomever they think have XRP.
If you're getting offered a rate of 1 to 1.25 BTC for 10K XRP, you should know the current fair market value is 1 BTC for 7000 XRP! Meaning you should be receiving about 1.4-1.5 BTC for each 10K XRP.
Whether they are truly stockpiling XRP, or just looking to make money on arbitrage, who knows? It's best for all potential sellers to keep informed so you won't be taken advantage of.
