You want to raise some dev funds for this?
PRE SELL some Assets, IE Vorpal Swords (
whatever these are..) Shield of NX, AE Armor, for example.
Say you make a whole set of 1000NXT armor and items, these items would have a value of 1500NXT once the game starts. Pre investors could put theirs up for sale, and therefore individual investors could make a profit and help the game get started

Presales are a good idea.
I was tempted to prebuy a package for ESO, but didn't have the cash.
But sell they did!
Eve has a few unique ships that are worth thousands in fiat. (unless they get blown up

)
yeah I played some D&D in the 80s but once we started we kind of left the modules and DM guides alone and just rolled our char sheets on graph paper and made up monsters to fight.

How about this - a WOW type of game in which weapons are forged in limited supply (and controlled by their very own block chain!) those weapons gain power with use and time thus increasing in value and can be sold and traded in the game?

I can't immediately grok the game balance implications, but on its face it's a brilliant idea. RND would determine if a block would forge coins, a weapon, a spellbook...
How many 'variants' can (should) be forged in a block? Would tx fee in the block affect the RND or what was forged? What's the game logic behind an item gaining power with use? (most mechanics use durability, which isn't quite the opposite of what you're talking about, but close).
At what point do I/we/the voices in my head move this off-thread and over to a nxtopia web forum?

Been thinking about this more and I came to the same investor/player idea, but a little differently. The source of weapons and accessories could be investors who put, for example, 10 nxt into the blockchain to make a basic sword. Game play would be free and a new user would get this sword for free - as this sword attains higher levels of power it gains in value and can then be traded (all game items that can be traded are items in the blockchain) - but it is forever linked to the initial investor who gets 10% of all future trades of the item. It would be enforced by the blockchain itself. Win for the player - free game and can make money, Win for the investor, win for the developer as they could be among the earliest investor - and the "premine" idea is a good one too I think to get the initial funds going.
