Thank you for the link. I am aware of the separate forum and am a frequent visitor there. But atm, the more in-depth discussions regarding LTC still take place here. Perhaps the LTC forum admin can create a category which links all the posts here.

I think Litecoin deserves a dedicated Child board under Alternate cryptocurrencies.

ltcminer

Yes, you can. But first you need to unlock your wallet. You can't run p2pool or solo mining while your wallet is locked.

Run this command using RPC console:

Code:
walletpassphrase "password" 86400 true

This command will unlock mining for 24h, for example.

P.S. Are you sure you want solo mine at diff 96?  Huh

Is there a source code release for compiling on different linux OS? My linux OS has glibc 2.11, but your code requires 2.14.

Is there a setting to unlock the wallet in the conf file, for mining via rpc for unlimited time? Also, I don't feel comfortable typing in the passphrase at the command line, and the OS also keeps a history of commands used.

Does novacoin-qt or novacoind support long poll? My cgminer returns "No suitable long poll found".

I guess I can use a liteoin hash calculator to estimate the expected time to find a block? I will use p2pool eventually. I am testing my setup for now.

I like Novacoin combing the advantages of LTC and PPC. Good job.

Thank you.

Can I start mining without the p2pool and just point my miner to novacoind or novacoin-qt?

Also there is till "Minint suspended..." message when I run the getmininginfo command.

Just thinking out loud here, but are sure that hyper-efficient litecoin mining wouldn't actually kill its value?

High performance ltc hardware should secure the currency more,as long as the public as equal access to the hardware, similar to the availability of consumer grade GPUs.

I am also interested if the product is ready.

I did a brief googling on FPGA, and saw that there is PCI-e FPGA card. I am wondering if this type of card can access system memory and therefore provide the memory needed by scrypt algo. PCI-e has adequate bandwidth and perhaps acceptable latency?

you receive a gift code that you can use on Am...com

They don't order for you. Again, my first two transactions were OK.

I don't know what to say at this point if they can be trusted or not. In the beginning, there is this Brian who talks to you real time to answer any questions.

The original site (.com) got shut down, they changed it from .com to .net. It's the .net that I have not had any success yet.

Thank you for the replies.

If ltc could ever reach the current height of btc, this will become a > $5000 US dollar lesson for me! Devil is in the details. Live and learn:)

A side note, the most expensive pizza in the world now is at $1.15 million US dollar? Referring to the 10,000 btc used to purchase two pizza pies for $40 back in 2010.

Mine hard and dream on.

I search for 'height' in debug.log and the return is 322395. According to a certain block explorer, the coins have been sent to another address. I guess another miner did beat me to it.

My time stamp is 1364473608, and the 'official' time is 1364473651. Is that a convertor I can use to see the time in human readable format?

Just an observation, the global difficulty should have been ~96 at that point, but for that particular block, it's at 78.

I just started mining, and did not sync my computer time with a ntp server at that point, would this affect the mining operation?

@CIYAM,

Yes, I can accept that another miner solved the block at the same time and took the credit. That's a fair scenario. How do I find out if that's exactly the case, and my mind can rest in peace.

I just want to make sure it's not on my end, my concurrent use of p2pool and solo mining, that might have caused a confusion for delivering the coins to my wallet.

Thank you.

regarding the probability, there is litecoin calculator on the web that you can use to estimate the amount of time it take to have a reasonable chance of solving a block.

Hi, how can I locate the block number in the debug.log? I mean what keyword to search for?  I thought 6e3aea7b67053f42dd29 is the block ID that I solved. I can't seem to locate a block number using the available block explore on internet. Thanks.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for posting ltc related question here, but I can't seem to get any expert help on the ltc forum. Since ltc is based on btc, I recon btc expert can point me in the right direction in recovering what i believe is rightfully mine.

I have the "proof-of-work found" message in the litecoin debug.log, but have never received the 50 coins. It's been several days. What can I do to find out what happened?  The hash is

hash: 0000000001ca9c8523b1d0723566ab08ed5ef1393bdc69f78a429492c77b2cf0
CBlock (hash=6e3aea7b67053f42dd29, .........

I am not on the testnet. I was solo-mining while running p2pool at the same time using the the same litecoind. Hope some expert can help me out here.

My wallet has been consistently receiving payouts from P2pool mining.

Thank you.

Re: What is "intensity" in cgminer?

my guess is how smoothly you want the video output to be. The higher the intensity, the rougher the video display could become.

just my guess, you are better off reading the help section.

hold on a second. there is not enough info on ltc forum. serious ltc miner scan only find relevant info here. please understand.

we don't need to pump any other digital currencies here. the legit ones will stay, weak ones will fade out. Pumping won't make any currency come true. it's supply and demand, and the underlying security and privacy.
