Bitcoins old tech and a joke in the scope of current and potential future models.

Eth is a scam and there is nothing outstanding or uniqu about it other than lots of lazy amateurs creatin/hawking shit coins based on its platforms. All I ever hear is smart contracts, there’s nothing new, amazing or useful about digital contracts.

you guys dont seem to understand bitcoin is old tech, and a collectors item. It will never see $20k+ again because smart money knows this.

The biggest coin HASN'T EVEN BEEN CREATED YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guys sum it up nicely (start at 21:30)

Mark Cuban said it best, its a collectible.

But its a pretty lame collectible IMO. cant even hold it ffs!!!

I always see it hovering around $300-4,000 Not sure where the market will settle on its worth.

Certainly won't go higher than that, its obsolete technology as far as scaling, transaction time, security, etc.

dunno wtf u guys are doing wrong my buddies at 500 sol/s miming zec with my tweaked 1070.

Temps around 70c

Sorry to break it to you but your buddy is doing it wrong. For the following reasons:

1. 500 sol/s means he is over-volting / increasing power consumption. That is LESS profitable than undervolting because you spend so much energy for minuscule gains.
2. Temps do not need to be "around 70c" to get good profits. He/she is simply reducing the life span of his/her GPU.

These are "basic" knowledge when it comes to GPU mining and if you haven't done enough research to know this then "wtf are u doing."

Give me a gpu that mines at 60c vs one at 70c...which one lasts longer? I doubt there is any significant difference. Problem I believe is in rapid temperature swings, dust, static, etc

Yeah the card may be overvolted and use slightly more energy but its commensurate with the extra hashrate.

anyway

Asic is a piece of iron. It is expensive, on the secondary market is not in demand. As a rule, it's very dinny and consumes electricity. The profit falls very quickly, only those customers who will receive the first are the winners + problems with the guarantee.

The GPU has fewer problems and can be sold in the secondary market

The GPU is toast after a year of mining and NOBODY WILL WANT IT.

Gonna be a flood of used miner cards on ebay - people will soon learn they aren't worth shit for reliability! Any hardcore PC gamer knows gfx cards have a usage life depending on how hard you push em much like a car! cars with high miles = worth jack shit.

With gfx tech increasing rapidly right now fueld by crypto, you can bet that 1080/vega or whatever will be worth $60 in a year (+ shipping and ebay/paypal fees) so the resale price point doesn;t mean much.

I'd much rather have twice the production per unit of time/energy/$$ because lets be honet right now its about who can most the most the fastest speculating on a future price increase and known diffcullty scaling.

TLDR:

The asic miners blow gfx cards out of the water no doubt about it.

And this news of secret asic miners taking HUGE chunks of monero, zcash, etc, WTF?? crypto for the hobby gfx card miner is dead most just don't realize it (which fuels the at home gfx card hobby miner market).

Best Altcoin for 2018? Without a doubt, marinecoin! for the following reasons:

  • Low marketcap (less than 1mUSD), so there is potential for growth
  • Been around for years, unlike some coins that have no real history
  • Excellent dev team currently pushing the project forward
  • Anybody who qualifies (up to the first 20,000 people) will get 450k MTC airdropped, so the investment is risk free
How many altcoins currently meet the above criteria?

Sounds like all the other shitload of altcoins made in the 2013 era.

EDIT: mining ZEC with flypool ~486 sol/s very stable.

Temps ranging from 66-76C depending on ambient temperature and time of day

 using MSI afterburner following settings

 power limit +2%

Temp limit 84C

Core Clock +220

Memory clock +821

Fan speed

100% (yes its a jet engine)

case side lid off with added mod circular 200mm fan blowing directly onto back of gfx card at 45 degree angle.

BTW I live in the tropics where the average temperature year round is about 76F.
