When I started the genesis block was 16 hours old, although it doesn't look like much mining had happened.  In fact I already solved more blocks with 2-3 cards than whatever was mined during that window.  Client has 20 active connections and growing slowly...

Good to see POS.
Great name.

I don't think it's a good idea in the long run to help CPU miners, unless it's simply a result of the algorithm used.

This is the part where the dev instamines the shit out of this, then later says "Sorry, I uploaded the wallet on time but my website couldn't take the load"

Scam, avoid!
Exactly.  The password protected rar was a great idea for early distribution.  So why isn't it even available 5 minutes *after* the launch.  Lol.

7 PST NOW.... where is the password?
Not enough time for premining yet.

I'm still waiting on an official download link.  Don't trust forum users mediafire links.

Bullshit.

Post your references that makes you believe it is 4 weeks, otherwise I call Bullshit/False hope.

There isn't a single manufacturer out there who can have their chips pop out of the factory in 4 weeks. Especially at 28nm.
Right there in the monarch information thread:  https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/4414-monarch-information.html

If they haven't taped out then I would certainly agree with you.  But I'm not sure why you would assume this hasn't happened.

Should've been 3-4k to at least compete with their upcoming products.
You do get it first but it's old and inefficient, so in total perhaps just a small premium over 28nm (per GH).

While they haven't shared details of the foundry process, they apparently get the chips back in 4 weeks.  So the 15 week minimum thing is old news now.

Even though BFL is known for delays it's quite likely this will also happen to their competitors.  Look at Hashfast for example.

Capacity reached, posted Nov 30, 2013 at 13:54 by CaptainAK

I am stopping new user registrations because I have reached the max capacity for my Internet connection. Upgrades are in the works, but it may be a few weeks before registration reopens.
You can still mine solo if you have a few cards.  It's starting to get a bit patchy with the difficulty but definitely an option.

I'm surprised to see this pick up again... I mined 800 usd in 24hrs on a 4-gpu rig last weekend.  In retrospect it was the perfect sweet spot of low difficulty and high price and I doubt it will happen again as the difficulty is coming up fast now.  But it shows that interest is rising, that's for sure.

I was there pretty early on and remember it trading for multiple btc at the time.  Not sure if that'll happen again given the current btc price.  But hey, most things that happen in crypto seem unbelievable at the time.  So who knows really...

They're all risky but I'd put these way ahead of competition such as cointerra (if you're ordering now).  They have a decent chance of getting out on time, and anything you can get before that 2PH launches is worth a premium.  The miner protection program is nowhere as good as it sounds, but it's certainly icing.

Maybe everyone just got bored by the idea of endless alts.  Mine were sitting there a while and then I decided I might as well dump them all for something that has more volume.

Sell only when the price seems high.  ie in batches once a month.
