More tokens...

Curious as to why you think they need more tokens?  I thought 23,000,000 was a good number, not too much but not too little.

Love to hear your reasoning behind this, in all honesty, not trying to be rude.

Wishing Karbon a very successful token sale!  You guys have been super helpful in answering all my questions about your platform. Like I told you through email I will be contributing on payday this week, hopefully there will still be enough tokens to go around!

in case anyone wants to play DICE for a long run, DON'T DO IT.  i don't care what these clowns are telling you, the game is rigged.

please let me know the chances of one side hitting this many times in a row.

http://imgur.com/YDmBX9t
The chances of loosing a .495 win game 15 consecutive times is roughly 0.0026246898030% (after playing 15 rolls). While this is unlikely, it will happen roughly 0.0026246898030% of the time.

A better way to check if they are cheating is to verify your rolls, and check to make sure they are not skipping nonces. If the rolls verify and no nonces are skipped then they have not cheated you.

i wish i saved one from last night but the same thing happened.  so while the verification might show that i wasn't cheated, what makes you think that 2 times in 2 days, this can happen.  this particular seed had 3933 bets.   just seems fishy, doesn't it?  i have not seen a winning streak that long ever.  but i also don't sit there watching it either.  it would actually help if they showed the longest streaks for each side, W or L.  If i saw 15 W somewhere there, maybe i wouldn't feel so salty.
Dont you have the option to change the client seed whenever you wish? If so then multiple of those kinds of streaks can be attributed to luck (assuming the rolls check out and they are not skipping nonces), or they simply have enough dice betting volume so that it would be expected to have two of that long of a loosing streak.

Although their dice site is new, their sports book has been around for years and has a long history of acting honestly, including paying out very large winning bets.

if i let this roll overnight, i 100% believe that when i wake up, whatever balance i had is going to be not enough for the next bet, meaning that i had at least 15 losses in a row.  simple as that.  if i wake up tomorrow and this thing is still rolling, then i guess i am wrong, but the fact that i know it will be, even though there is such a small chance for it mathematically, then this has to be rigged.  its predictable loss.  you could have 1000BTC in there, and it will make sure it will give you enough losses to cover that amount.  i have no doubt in my mind.  obviously there is no proof to it.  it's a fun little game, but just like any other ones out there, it's a press of a button away from taking you dough.  hence letting people know to stay the hell away.

Hi luthan!

I'm sorry to hear that you have had an unlucky streak with Dice! We want to make sure that you can independently verify the fairness of each dice roll. You can find all of the information including step-by-step instructions in the Casino Rules under the Provably Fair section.

If you have any questions about Dice or Provably Fair please don't hesitate to contact our support team here or through email at support@nitrogensports.eu.

Best regards,

Roy

for starters, how about you unban my ip?  how coincidental that me complaining on these boards gets my ip banned.

"thread-concurrency" : "24550",

i was expecting to see some more rejects since the stratum changes, but i am not.
should i be worried?

0.3 % right now

Same here 0.3%

My long term average is 2% (up from 0.2% old stratum) still not bad since i changed nothing from old config.

that's the thing, i didn't do anything either.  so why would i see no changes whatsoever?

1) I am using xubuntu and cgminer 3.7.2 - can I use this xi with this?

I believe only the sgminer version of cgminer supports xintensity.

Kalroth cgminer does as well

GHash has been sitting above 25GH fairly consistently, with or without sfire mining there.

false, sfire is the one that put ghash over 25.  there was a hickup yesterday on ghash, where it didnt find a block for 30 minutes or so.  sfire switched back to wafflepool, ghash went below 25.

obviously, even with 1.25x, sfire deems ghash to be more profitable at this particular point.

you don't post an ad for a sale for 50% off and when people enter the store tell them "oh fuck you, its actually 25% off".  unless you are scummy ass car dealer of course.  and that's what this feels like.  fuckem

They're giving away free money -- a fair amount of it.  On the one hand they shouldn't be surprised that people take as much as possible, so boo on them for not anticipating this.  On the other hand I can't really hold it against them for not wanting to pay out huge sums to a pool that will 100% guaranteed move away once the offer is done.  They could have just pulled the offer, or blocked wafflepool's IP address, but it seems like they are trying to manage the situation without resorting to that, so I've got to give them some kudos.

And to someone's previous point, the site is nice, I still have a more positive impression of ghash.io than I did when this thing started (only heard of them in re 50%+1 attack on bitcoin and double-spending attacks).
[/quote]

they are smart kids.  they knew this was going to happen.  it worked, they got a lot of advertising out of this.  but the initial promise wasn't delivered.  that to me is a bullshit move, and very hard to respect.  let say waffles decided to raise the fee without telling anyone, but just posting it on the site somewhere to "cover more server costs because i didnt expect such traffic".  it would be shady, simple as that.

cex.io and all that bullshit what comes with it lol.  Grin

I completely understand them,  they just want new clients and offer more reward.  They dont want all pools go there to get their money. Is there someone who cant understand something as easy as this one?.  I would do exactly the same.

If wafflepool tomorrow give extra % to new clients, and all pools come to mine here to get his money, he will do ALL to stop them, right?

is there a chance that this whale we all talk about is just another "multipool" that is too lazy to run his own shit?

Doesn't really matter either way.  He still controls a significant amount of hashpower.

Out of curiosity, I traced some of the whale's payments through the bitcoin network, and very quickly found about US$3.5 million still sitting unspent in bitcoin wallets.  If the whale were really a pool, then he would have had to pay much of that out to miners.  So it seems that he is indeed a very large farm as he has mentioned, likely with installations located in Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai -- which suggests very strong backing as it has not been necessary for him to convert that much bitcoin into fiat currency in order to cover expenses.

And with all that money, he only donated $63 to Wil for wafflestats.  Well, it's better than nothing I guess!

wowzers, that is a ton of cash.  i bet its a fuckin gpu manufacturer in china using the unsold gpus before shipping them out when needed.

Both, perhaps? I'm only running a single mongodb instance and mongo REALLY shines (apparently) when you replicate it and shard it. So I'm not using it perfectly.

The largest dataset is storing each datapoint at 1 to 5 minute intervals for two weeks. There are currently 27,294,278 data points for 4500 addresses. Each datapoint is 240bytes in size.

convert to mysql and call it a day haha

It's not so much hosting (well, it is), as it is the mongo database I'm hosting. I started using mongo because, well, it's the "new hotness", and I started this project to play with new technologies. The problem is, I didn't realize at the time that 1) This would get so popular, and 2) Mongo needs to have all data in memory for it to be at all efficient.

The database is now hosting ~8gb of data and ~4gb of indexes. I'm sure I could make that more efficient, but, well, at this point it'd be a lot more work than I think it's worth. Because of that amount of data, I need to run it on an AWS server with a LOT of ram, and those are a fair bit more expensive than the other servers I'm running. Every time I've had an issue with the site being slow, it's been because of mongo running out of ram to use.

MongoDB... only once. :-P

christ, is that just poor design or are mongo databases meant to be used for small stuff?
