Someone just dumped 2000 mnx, what a mistake ..., just before getting listed on a new exchange Smiley

How do you know if it is getting listed on a new exchange?  I have not read any news that a new exchange for minexcoin?  If so, is there a link to where I could find this information?  A new exchange would be great to continue for the price to go up.

In Nov/ Dec the team published some news that they are working on getting listed on more exchanges. Also a legal opinion was published back in Nov/ Dec regarding the Howey test (important to clarify whether MNX is a token or a security under U.S. rules) which may also prove important for getting listed on further exchanges. But of course - we will see whether and when MNX will be listed on further exchanges and it can still take some time - patience is key. Wink

It is no news about new exchanges atm. It will be no auto repark in Minex bank ever, because people loosing their wallets and that mean funds from bank will be lost as well if there was turned on auto parking. I think it is not so hard to do few clicks once a week or month.

Ok, understood your point that funds from the bank may be lost but I disagree about the convenience. Since weekly interest rates are more unfavorable compared to daily rates compared to 1-2 months ago, I'd rather stick with the daily rate now.

Still you could add some more user convenience, e.g. send an email after an expiry of a parking (as a reminder). You could even offer to "repark" the same amount by clicking a link in that email. Note that I understand that the bank may still lose funds but you could limit that to a maximum of X times (e.g. 6 for daily, 1 for weekly, none for monthly and yearly). It also has a positive effect of keeping in touch with Minexcoin holders. Overall, I would strongly advise the Minexcoin team to be always very and possibly more communicative - keeping the community here and in the web engaged (including silent readers like I typically am).
You can download android app( Minexbank) and get notifications when parking ends. I got notification just once, but propably it is because of my mobile energy safe mode(shuting down all apps)

Thanks, will give it a try!

I like this coin and the concept. One suggestion for further enhancement of the parking of Minexcoins: would be great to have a feature to "repark" your Minexcoin parkings once a parking matures.

Any news on additional exchange listings? This should also support Minexcoin's price.

I switched to Ubuntu today because of the cpu bug - and now I'm happy (although I still have some other problems with Ubuntu - but miners are working without CPU load SmileySmiley

Re: Preventing 100% CPU usage?

I got some information from some other threads, e.g.: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6188.60

As far as I know the problem occurs when:
a) more than one graphic card is installed
b) occurs with crossfire enabled and disabled
c) is particularly bad when only one cpu core is available
d) might be related to SDK 2.4 (in one of the other threads someone mentioned that this might not occur when SDK 2.1 is used, so you would need to use catalyst 10.4 as far as I know)

It seems that a lot of people don't realize that problem because they have multi-core cpu's, e.g. a six core cpu with 2 graphic cards would only use 2/6 => ~33% of the cpu usage, although the problem is the same.

I do have the same issue. I tried the SDK 2.1 alternative once, but got the same results - however, I didn't clean all drivers with drivesweeper so it might not be bulletproof - maybe someone can respond on that one.

Anyone ever tried winThrottle ? http://www.oldskool.org/pc/throttle
It seems to be an old software but was (besides affinity and granola) the only cpu throttling software I have found. Problem is you need to install the included drivers as a Windows device but Windows 7 doesn't let me (cannot add manually a device - maybe I'm just to stupid to find a way - do you know one on W7?). The idea would be to max the overall CPU usage to e.g. 20% (or lower). Even though mining software would still use those 20%, it would be far better. What do you think?

Running 2x HD 5850 at 320 mhash/s each (-v -w128 -f30 options, cpu clock: 850mhz, mem clock: 335 mhz) and another rig with 1x HD 6950 at 345 mhash/s (-v -w128, cpu clock: 900 mhz, mem clock: 530 mhz). Seem pretty stable but I still want to get temperature a bit lower (currently about 75-78°C)  Smiley

Possibly these very negative posts do serve a good purpose.  By scaring away speculator noobs who are here just to make a quick buck and don't really understand what bitcoin is, it reduces the risk to the rest of us that someone will lose a pile of money, run to their congressman to whine about it which in turn brings a lot of ill-conceived government regulation.

By maintaining this as a community of bitcoin devotees who understand this is more than a get-rich-quick scheme, we will grow more steadily and on a firmer foundation.

Like that one Smiley I guess it was just a matter of time that price would drop, however I don't agree will all the folks claiming bitcoin's exchange rate will be 5$ in a few days Wink What I don't like about this price drop is that it might scare away shops that accept Bitcoin..

Hi,
I'm new to bitcoin but have done a lot of reading in this forum and on other sites. I have to say that I totally agree with the ones that complain about the lack of shorting. One of the main points why there are bubbles on this world are the short-sale constraints that obviously exist. And although politicians sometimes like to make us think that all the short-sellers are bad and should be forbidden, the opposite is the case. If the price of bitcoin would be overvalued, there is no good way of driving the value back to its fundamental value without the option to short. Just think of the American housing bubble: prices kept rising and rising. Although some people felt something is wrong, they couldn't do much because there was (almost) no way to short mortgages/MBS/ABS!  Wink

Let's see what the future brings and whether any exchange will offer a shorting option.
