Claymore v 11.9 Problem - GPU hangs
by
m4L
on 29/07/2018, 11:59:57 UTC
Hey guys,

Im always getting the following error:

Quote
06:29:15:493   1458   WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit

The thing is that sometimes its not a problem, because Claymore can restart itself and its working fine again, but sometimes my rig freezes...
I tried alot to fix that problem (not overlocking too much etc.), but I cant get rid of that problem.
Furthermore the error comes sometimes after a day or sometimes after just an hour.

What can I do?

These are my current settings: (Im using 6x RX 580 Nitro + with 8 gb)

Quote
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal xxxxx -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2100,2150,2150,2150,2250,2150 -cvddc 875 -mvddc 875 -gser 0 -tt 65 -tstop 80 -asm 2 -etha 0 -mport 0

So if I would go for just one RX 480 8GB that would work? Maybe 2?

on 25/07/2018, 16:37:30 UTC
Hey guys,

I want to upgrade my old pc in order to be able to mine with it as well.
It has a Asus P5Q Mainboard - is there any GPU I could possible use to mine with that setup or do I need a complete new setup?

Thanks in advance

Try to remove this part first
"-ftime 10 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2200,2200,2100,2200,2200,2100 -cvddc 900 -mvddc 900 -gser 0 -tt 65 -tstop 80 -asm 2 -etha 0 -mport 0 -allpools 1"

Then try again.
And maybe your server pool you are connecting "-allpool" is not supported.

Download the latest claymore here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

Ok its working now! Thanks Smiley

But it still keeps saying:

Quote
20:34:25:673   18c0   ETH: Stratum - connecting to 'eth-eu1.nanopool.org' <164.132.108.171> port 9999 (unsecure)

Is this a problem or fine?

Getting the same - I guess their Stratum is not using SSL so you're getting this '(unsecure)'.
Have you tried only removing the "-allpools 1" or did you remove
Code:
-ftime 10 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2200,2200,2100,2200,2200,2100 -cvddc 900 -mvddc 900 -gser 0 -tt 65 -tstop 80 -asm 2 -etha 0 -mport 0 -allpools 1
completely?

I think theyre experience some problems right now regarding ddos... might be a reason for it.
I just installed v.11.9 and it worked!

But why do I keep getting this error then?

I mean, it starts mining anyway but its saying connected to:

Quote
20:34:25:673   18c0   ETH: Stratum - connecting to 'eth-eu1.nanopool.org' <164.132.108.171> port 9999 (unsecure)

Should I reinstall my claymore? Where did you download it?

Also, is it fine that I let my claymore apply the best detected -dcri value?

Hey guys,

I keep getting this error:

Quote
This pool (eth-eu1.nanopool.org) does not support Ethereum addresses as login (or requires worker name in "Login.Worker" format) and cannot be used for devfee mining, therefore it is not supported.

Do you have any idea what I could do against it?
-allpools 1 is set, also the correct .bat file which I downloaded from nanopool..

Re: Hashrate fluctuating alot
by

A variation of hash rate of 10-30 MH/S is acceptable and always happens when you are mining. Make sure that you are not performing other tasks with this mining rig, otherwise this fluctuation in the hash rate is normal.

I did not open anything except Claymore and Teamviewer - is there any option which allows me to see all the tasks running?

This is how it looks like - its always fluctuating in between 160 and 180.. Is this normal or shoud I do something here?

Only GPU 3 and 4 that always fluctuated? (as shown in your pics) If it yes, you can focus on those two.

Drop until 8 MH/s on each (GPU 3 and 4) isn't normal, you can start with check memory error (since you are using AMD card you can use HWinfo)

Sometimes its all of them. For example, my hashrate is at 180 MH/s and suddenly it drops for a few seconds to 130 MH/s, but then goes back up again..

So what should I do exactly with memory error?

Re: Claymore command for automatic reonnects?
by

I used claymore v11.0 and never had any issue on reconnecting when the internet rebooting or stop like the above said the claymore will restart in 20 seconds to reconnect.
This version works for me when mining ethereum but when overclocking it too high it crashes so just setup it with enough clock.

Yes but now I see what the problem is:
When claymore is trying to reconnect - its trying it and then crashing.. Is it possible to give it a command to close and reopen automatically?

Hashrate fluctuating alot
by
m4L
on 03/07/2018, 11:53:10 UTC
Hey guys,

im facing difficulties getting a good hashrate.
Currently im using 6x Sapphire Raedon RX 580 Nitro+ and a be quiet! 1200W psu. The gpus are flashed and my setup in my claymore miner is the following:

Quote
-ewal -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10 -dcri 12 -asm 2 -etha 0 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2100 -cvddc 900 -mvddc 900 -allpools 1 -gser 0 -minspeed 120 -tt 58 -tstop 80 -platform 1 -mport 0

What do you guys think about this? Is there anything I could change in order to maybe reduce my consumption and increase my mhs?
Im currently getting around 160-180MHs (its fluctuating alot) with a consumption around 830W...

Thanks

Claymore command for automatic reonnects?
by

on 03/07/2018, 11:41:13 UTC
Hey guys,

since a couple of weeks my claymore miner has caused a few problems.
Everytime I got a internet disconnect, it automatically crashed and did not reopen. That was pretty annyoing because Im always away during the day.

Therefore I wanted to ask you guys, if theres any command/configuration for the claymore that makes him reconnect automatically when theres a internet disconnection. If not, what do you guys do about that problem in general?

Re: Two different psu?
by

Hey guys,

is it possible to connect two different psu to the motherboard?
Im currently using a 1200 Watt be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11.. If so, do you have any recommendation?
Are there also PSU with long VGA cables (I mean the power supply for every gpu, 4pin)? Because the bequiet has only small ones and its pretty hard to connect many gpus with that little moving possibility...

Thanks in advance!

You can use Add2PSU adapter for starting more than 1 PSU when you boot up your mining rig. Really great little adapter that can help you to multiply your much-needed PCIE connectors.

Ok and do I have to use the exact same ones or can I use for example the I already have with a 700W be quiet! one?

Re: What to change in Claymore in order to reduce power cost?

Hey guys,

do you have any tipps which settings I could put into my Claymore Miner in order to reduce power cost?
For example reducing mvddc or cvddc? What would be a good setting for a 6x Sapphire 580 Nitro+ Rig?

Hi,
I am using both mvddc and cvddc in Claymore miner.
You should try -mvddc 900 -cvddc 900.
Let it run for a while, and if it's stable, then you can try lowering voltage, e.g. 875, until you find best settings.
You can also underclock each gpu seperate, e.g. -mvddc 900,880,910... -cvddc 875,890,910...
It doesn't mean that all gpu's are gonna run on same settings, even though it's the same brand and model.
I found this tutorial, it maybe helps you https://steemit.com/ethereummining/@nesahayward/eth-ethereum-mining-with-rx-580-8g-8gb-claymore-settings

You can also try OverdriveNtool for overclocking and undervolting.
Try this tutorial https://mining.help/2017/12/10/windows-10-mining-guide-for-amd-gpus-12-gpu-supported/

Thanks! Im gonna use mvddc and cvddc in Claymore miner.. I´ve already set both to 900 and its working fine. Thinking about lowering it to 875. Should I go for both @ 875 or just -mvddc? I heard that changing one (I dont know which one it was) of them can be dangerous in terms of damaging the gpu...
