This is what I received from bitmain zendesk that is in Colorado.

Hello,

For L3+ miners our repair facility has not yet started accepting those repairs. You will have to contact BITMAIN in Hong Kong for those repairs!

Thank you

On the repair ticket I just submitted it listed California as the repair site.
Very confusing...

Corsair 1050HX + Visiontec 400W AUX PSU.

When the L3+ arrived I realized the 1050 didn't have enough cables, so I grabbed an old auxiliary power supply I used on GPU rigs.
Bitmain says you can use more then one so I figured it didn't void the warranty, I had no other choice on hand.

Yes you should use 1 supply, but it will work and has for a few months now on an L3+ the same as it worked on video cards.

*I don't sleep there and I have automatic redundant fire suppression in place.

You can use PCIE splitter like this:

https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1wnSMKFXXXXXMXVXXq6xXFXXXI/PC-CPU-8pin-to-Dual-PCI-E-font-b-PCIe-b-font-6pin-Power-font-b.jpg
That is asking for a fire to me..  Never again!

it's simple, either buy securely on bitmain.com , but you will get it at your doorstep first week of October , price 40 LTC

Or pay over 6000$us for one from the July -August batch

Or pay 10k$+ for a used May batch , and you get it in 10 days up running.

This.

10k?  I might sell it for that price. +shipping

Yes all those and then some have been discussed, tried or done for years now, you can even mine with paper and pencil if your inclined to do so. ASIC is the mining end game for some coins others are designed to be mined only on CPU's or HDD's. GPU's are used because they can mine most coins and are readily available.

I am curious if and when we can mine with one of these bleeding edge boxes;)

Thanks, That is what I suspected. Back in the day I mined with Slush and there was a slight variance too.

Setting up on litecoinpool.org with an L3+ was as easy as can be and rewards are about 1.5 LTC /day with 500MH/s. Grin

not sure what you mean. My L3's and L3+'s are mining what they say they are mining on the pool...assuming I have this correct?

It just took a couple days for it to catch up, now I am getting spikes up to 540 MH.

I really like this pool and its web/iPhone interface. Is there an app for that?

Thank you pooler for all you do.

Is missing 20-25 MH/s out of 500 MH/s normal here for poolside stats?

What are guys using to power them?

I was thinking a HX1050 but it only has 6 native plugs.

I hesitate to trust some molex 2 to 1 pci...

Haven't you guys ever used JB Weld?
I have fixed tons of things with JB Weld, from Laptop hinges to fuel injectors. There is a quick version also just not as high strength.

Very nice flir image!  Not to often do we get to see those.
Thanks it's my new toy, iPhone Flir accessory for 200 bucks couldn't pass it up.
I hope there are at least 2 other fans on the other side of that radiator  Undecided
3 of the stock fans of course, wire harness had an fan extra plug so I used it.
Anybody noticed the hot wall plug?
The plug is really only a little warm. about 700 watts flowing there.

Here are a couple more I took just before I tore them down for ebay sales this week.

Just to note, the contest does mention specifically:
Here's some things that have been done before and aren't going to score very high unless it's exceptional work:

Looks like you also messed with R1 for overclocking?

If you're an electronics geek by now, have a look at the LED and how it's being driven.  Funky.

Long since retired I had dozens of these running 24/7 for a few months, Overclocked with sidehacks kits.
Time to bring it (or possibly another) out of retirement! Details soon Smiley

I'm not expecting to even place but someones gotta get the ball rolling. Grin

Bad heat sink placement and amateur soldering skills led to this ones death. Its the only one that died early. I guess I kept him for nostalgia's sake. all the others worked until I sold them on ebay long ago. I over clocked some blades too, those were the days.

I remember reading something about that funky LED driver, it got to be over my head.

I cant imagine why anyone would mine bitcoins with these anymore, do tell. Wink
