> 2FA by phone and confirmation emails both increase account risk. Hackers, email providers, ISPs, and not-nice-governments like North Korea are constantly trying to get into peoples phones and emails.

Exactly. This can't be emphasized enough.

The entire CB/Bts platform is about freedom. Please, PLEASE leave everything as is and halt any 2FA dev. There are other places to trade, if you desire 2FA.

Well, 2FA doesn't have to be done that way. Certainly, 2FA via SMS is not secure at all, nor is 2FA via email. However, 2FA could be done in a similar manner to Google Authenticator, and the independent gateways could do it when they come online (slated for around May this year IIRC).

Admins /Developers: Please refrain from adding 2FA, of any kind. Keep OUT all phone companies, corp oligarchs, and g o v s.  Posters on this topic are more than welcome to trade at the dozens of exchanges that strictly enforce this unnecessary hurdle.

BTS Cryptro Bridge platform represents an important alternative.  Independent gateways should remain independent and not give in to pressure from "someone somewhere" and NOT require any such private info for transactions to occure. The entire system runs fine as is. Dev / admins please, if possible,  provide a subtle response, clue, hint, show of support that this won't happen, and that you are for "de-centralization" related to current system in place. The awakening Chinese, young Russian and Central Europeans seem to understand this more than the apathetic West.

I agree, any sort of centralised 2FA wouldn't be worth it. But surely 2FA via federated network of gateways, requiring multi-sig approval, would be a good thing to do?

i dont understand exactly how bridge works. its hosted on the bts blockchain, so all actions costs bts ? how are they paid? via smart contracts?

and can anybody pls explain this:

Quote
In Cryptobridge, a federated distributed network of gateways, operating worldwide...
makes sure there is no single point of failure whatsoever

what are the gateways doing? they are decentralized?

thanks!

the gateways give you the corresponding BRIDGE backed asset. Currently the gateway is not decentralised, the devs run it. The roadmap states that they are planning to roll out a system of federated gateways, with multi-sig approval required for withdrawal and deposits. Once this federated gateway network is up and running (some time in the next few months, hopefully), then they will be decentralised.

or cryptonote coins?
Not yet - ERC20 tokens are on the roadmap, in the next few weeks.

Could someone please confirm the benefits of holding BLOCK? Once the Block Dex is launched, by either owning a masternode (1k coins, correct?) or by staking whatever Block you own, you get a cut of the fees. Is that correct? Thanks.

Yes, you get a cut of fees when you hold block.    One block is generated every min and node (needs 5000 block) get 70% while staking gets 30%.      Both have great ROI.   Staking currently is around 11-13% while node gets around 17-18%.

Great, thanks. And is that percentage per annum, or a different timeframe?

Just signed up for the web interface. Extremely confused. Please help!

1) How do I secure the webwallet? I was only provided with a pw and no private keys; how do I get the private keys?
2) 2) How do I use my BTC to purchase other coins? Does the web interface need some kind of connection with a local wallet like Parity?
3) There's a deposit feature for BTC. If this is a decentralized exchange, why do I need to deposit here?

1. The pw unlocks your private keys. Do not lose it, no one can reset it or recover it for you. Once logged in you can view your private keys.
2. Very easily - by using the exchange.
3. You need to deposit to the exchange - it is your wallet. I don't quite understand the second part of your question??

Other exchanges - Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitfinex, MtGox, etc - hold the private keys to any coins you have there. They are centralised; the coins are not really yours at all because you don't have the private keys. With a decentralised exchange, such as CryptoBridge, YOU hold the private keys to your coins, not the exchange. The DEX can never take your coins from you.
In the case of CB, you actually hold keys on the BitShares asset exchange platform. I'd suggest reading up on that a bit.

Question about your Referal Program on Crypto-bridge

Hello,
is your referal /Affiliate Program still active? What link should I use as referal? And where can I see referals?
Thank you
Cryptco

The referral is not currently active, but as far as I'm aware there are plans to reactivate it, with possibly changed parameters/incentives. But at the moment there is no referral program.

interesting to see the comments on 2FA. I read that they're working on it.
(on twitter if I'm not wrong)

I received some small amount of ZALUPA today

does anybody knows what is this token/crypto?

what are your general strategy for BCO staking?
HODL all the altcoins or sell it for more BTC/BCO?
or hold some and sell some?
curious here.

cheers!

Zalupa is most likely from a random airdrop. It is a way for a project to distribute their coins in hopes that people trade them. About staking, it is up to you if you want to HODL or sell. If your goal is to take profit immediately, then sell them at market. If you want to HODL them in case they rise in value, then do that. Either way, you'll probably do well since they're good coins that are listed.

interesting, would love to hear more about what is the project but didn't find a bitcointalk thread neither a website.
is there any of it?

I'm doing a combination, holding most of the altcoins, selling some to BTC to trade and possibly will buy more BCO to add to my main staking position.
it'll really fly when ETH and tokens are listed.

Same here, holding most, and selling some of the duds I'm not a fan of. The other good part of CB is that most of the coins being listed seem pretty good, and in the early days. I'd be very interested to see where some of them end up in a year or two. I've no doubt a few could go quite well.
Def keen to increase my BCO staking position though, looking forward to ETH being added.

If site goes down how can i get back my BTC or other coins?

Cryptobridge does not hold your coins, the Bitshares blockchain does. Even if Cryptobridge went down, you could still access your coins by going through another Bitshares gateway like Openledger and Bitshares Asset Exchange.

curious about that
how would it work with an asset that is listed on Bridge but not listed on openledger or other bitshares gateway
like ALQO, for example?

Well, the the exchange looks promising, at least someone has found a use for BitShares. Original OpenLedger and BitShares are not user-friendly at all.

Where is an official support here? Are they left already? I have a question.

Will CryptoBridge be so kind to implement 2FA security access with Google Authenticator? I lost my access to BitShares account earlier thanks to simple hacker KeyLogger. Are you, guys, seriously considering mass adoption with just username/password? It is sooooo weak. Please do something, at least withdrawal confirmation by e-mail (thank God, there are well secured e-mails out there), please do something about the security! At least create such an option. This is vital. I doubt someone clever would trust nice amount to DEX otherwise.

agreed here,
2FA is a must!
is there any possibility on implementing it?

though I think openledger is quite friendly as well.
same same as bridge

What part of decentralized exchange are you missing, 2fa can't be implemented in such platform. This is the big boys arena, its your responsibility to protect your vitals when you delve into this realms.

Actually, they can probably do 2FA via the federated gateways.

Received another dividend from CryptoBridge. Awesome!
Bought some more XP at the dip for 9 satoshi per coin and gonna add more XP to Passive Coin Backing Fund.
BCO is also flying high. Smiley

Anyone know whether CryptoBridge accept ERC20 tokens already? They promised to add this feature in January but, I am not sure they are working on it?
I would like to see Passive Coin (PAS) listed on CryptoBridge. We are listed already on stocks exchange and IDEX .... but CryptoBridge will be the first league, in the future! Smiley

Yep, should be soon (ie a week or two) for ERC20 tokens.

Currently there is no possibility of 2FA, as all the 2FA services are centralised. But doing it via the federated gateways might be a good idea.

Hi people!  Is POW mining  works?  Is  https://pool.bridgecoin.org pool works? Huh

PoW mining has ended. You can still mine the chain of course, but there are no rewards for miners anymore, so there isn't much point. All 27 million BCO have been minted and are in circulation. So don't bother!

Crypto Bridge exchange is the best place (currently) to buy ALQO. It is a very nicely done exchange I must say.

so cryptobridge is not a straight forward sign up portal? You must download their executable file as per your platform?

Nope, you can just use it as a website, no need to download an executable. Be aware that the exchange is decentralised: they cannot reset your password if you forget it and there is no possibility of 2FA at the moment. This might change if the planned federated gateways can do 2FA.
If you sign up, you MUST write down and keep safe your password. Every day there are people asking support for help when they have lost their passwords. It is your responsibility to keep your password safe, and yours alone.

me

Same here. I deposited 4000 doge coin with 800 confirmation but not credited till now.

Their doge quota is full, they do have an announcement to not make any doge deposits. Either join the Discord community to contact a dev, or email support.

thanks

is there a minimum needed for staking though?

No minimum required, although the staking fee is currently 0.18 BCO. So if you have 1 BCO, you will lose 18% to the staking fee. If you have 10 BCO, you will only lose 1.8% to the staking fee. So it's better to stake as much as possible, so that the fee represent a smaller portion of you stake amount.

There is an online calculator to help you investigate your possible return, 50 BCO could still be worth it. If CB takes off, and there's every chance it will, then at the very least that 50 BCO will be worth a lot, lot more one day - as well as providing you with passive income.

Now, as long as the deposit is 0.18bco, we lost more than 40 BCO before the deposit. After that, we didn't earn any fees even after staking. We just want to say that the loss is large and we don't know what the developers think.

Payouts are bi-weekly

Just a note, bi-weekly means both twice a week and every two weeks, it's a little confusing. Using fortnight is better as it specifically means every 2 weeks

Yes, I think it's better to say fortnight. Although it seems like it will be more like twice a month (15th/30th) rather than precisely every 14 days. So perhaps saying twice a month is the most accurate!

As you can see I've sent two transactions to my deposit address (1CDTkRiZ9DekxgbtGhcUbh8JfCoaZLSFYL)  here:

https://btc-bitcore1.trezor.io/tx/28442b6d5de67955adc69e988d2d045dd81a51d59434caed515e9e5fd99286d9 (confirmed on Jan 7)

However, check my activity log from crypto-bridge.. only one of the deposits has been issued to my account. This is a pretty annoying thing to have happen, since I did not send to a wrong receiving address, however that also means it could happen to one of you, hopefully it is a one-off and it can be resolved, but if it's an issue rooted in the crypto-bridge code I think it's best to have it out in the open.

https://i.imgur.com/QRGNunR.jpg

I've tried contacting support but haven't received a response in 2 days, just hoping to get some help here.

OMG!  Shocked Incredible! You lost 0.025 BTC ?? How did it happen?

The crypto-bridge website is just not issuing it to my account. So be careful when depositing into your crypto-bridge account. My issue still hasn't been resolved.

There is currently a backlog of support tickets. I've seen many people with similar issues, and they all get resolved sooner rather than later.
