The basis for me to determine if it is good or not is its volume. Because if it has a low volume then there's only few people who patronize it and the sell & buy orders is tenuous. Next is its voltality because the less voltality the less profit you'll get. Yet, the background of that coin when it was an ICO before.

Bitcoin is the big dog in this market. Being the original cryptocurrency + being the one receiving mass media attention + people being fascinated with its growth over the years, has basically put it in the position of being the anchor of this entire market.

Sure, there may be other coins out there with better technology which, in theory, are superior, but the reality of the market at the moment is that when bitcoin tanks in price, pretty much everything else goes down with it - most even go down further than that because they can only be bought with bitcoin and their value in satoshis decreases on top of the dollar decrease of bitcoin.

Because of this, I can't see anything "overtaking" bitcoin with the current state of the market. That doesn't mean altcoins can't have higher % increases over a period of time though - it happens quite a lot.

It is gambling if you are gambling. But, you are trading if you technically analyze the market. Invest time in understanding the way things work. Why one went up while other goes down and the other one is holding position. an example would be Altcoins>ETH>BTC for the moment.

Myself not a trader, but investing time into learning some tools to get into market.

but I think that you're wondering whether you should mine or trade, personally I recommend you to trade first, just because mining might takes lots of your time due to electricity costs and ridiculous prices for the asic miners - it will take you anywhere between 250- infinite days to break even. After that time you make a slow profit. You have a high initial investment at high uncertainty. In contrast, trading (lets say investing: buy and hold) helps you get the real thing! You start making a profit from day one onwards.

#3. Competition with many others cryptocurrencies
#4. Low security of services/products
#5. No safety mechanisms

Detracting marks: Obviously detrimental to a coins value, detracting marks come from improper handling or packaging. Fingerprints are considered detracting marks. To protect coins from these, it is important to avoid handling coins and using tight plastic holders.
Cleaning or mishandling marks: These occur when a coins surface is actually damaged due to cleaning, rubbing, or polishing. They can also be caused by cabinet friction, the faint rubbing away of a coins high points, caused by contact with an envelope or tray.
Eye Appeal: While this category sounds extremely subjective, it actually refers to the absence of carbon streaks, striking defects, vinyl damage, and a myriad of other factors that detract from a coins overall appearance.
