I'm not a fan of ClownSpiders approach, but I'm also experiencing the same thing with Bitcoin Classic. It seems like every time I try to move my BTC to a new wallet the BCH follows it, and I can't seem to separate the two. I'm now stuck with transactions with no confirmations and two empty wallets. I'm hoping things cancel out and I'll try moving the BCH first instead of the BTC to see what happens.

To be clear, I used Bitcoin Core for my wallet, and loaded that wallet into Bitcoin Classic after moving my Core wallet funds to a new wallet, and the Core fund changes appeared in the Classic wallet transactions. I now have a mess on my hands, and am hoping things clear up, but what he is saying is actually happening.

Thank you Malykii.
When they start telling you that you are stupid, and start throwing in "cross burning" and "fake news" comments, you'll understand my approach with these charming children.
Out of curiosity, do your Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash clients point to the SAME data folder, because they shouldn't.

Which part is the data folder, the chain folder or the folder named Bitcoin? I have two Bitcoin folders, one for each wallet, and one chain folder. Is that my problem? I didn't expect to have to download two separate chains.

I'm not affiliated with the clown person in any way, and I don't have any desire to discuss Trump. I'm just saying I'm also experiencing the same thing where the cash coins are following the BTC coins when I move them. I'm just having a tough time separating them. I'm not trying to get caught up with all the drama he's mentioning. I tried to move them too many times now, and I have both coins stuck in unconfirmed status, and wanted to just mention that this is something that is an actual issue, and wanted to try and convey that in a better method than him / her. That's all.

Re: Does the split depend on Exchange? 1 BTC now equals 1 BTC + 1 BCC

I'm also trying to wrap my head around it, and this is how I perceive it so far. So the chain splits, and I have a wallet.dat file with 1 coin in it. Would I then use a new program to open that wallet.dat file for the BCC coin, and use in my case Bitcoin Core for my original BTC, with the end result 1 BTC in the new BCC wallet program, and the original 1 BTC in Bitcoin Core?

What I don't get is if they were really trying to hide the stolen coin, why not throw mixers in there at some point? This is just them passing the coin from exchange to exchange.

Re: Have Mike Hearn joined the wrong side of the force?

One of the first users of Bitcoin? LOL

He was never around before December 2010. As an example, sirius started using Bitcoin in November 2009,
Theymos started using Bitcoin in February 2010, knightmb, mizerydearia, Syke and MoonShadow were using Bitcoin from July 2010 and there's about 100 people that were working on Bitcoin when he showed up. He was relatively late to the party. The fool makes it sound like he invented Bitcoin. ROFL

I agree, this description of Hearn's has other misdirections and falsehoods.

The pioneers of smart contracts were obviously Nick Szabo, for theoretical basis, and the first working prototype smart contracts platform was fellowtraveller's Open-Transactions and then Ethereum ... Lighthouse was definitely after these, and is too limited to be referred to as a "smart contracts pioneer".

Lighthouse? As in the level 3 competitor?

I would eat a crappy chicken sandwich sand fries from them to support this if it happens.  I know people say this drives the market down, but long term this is turning into a legit alternative currency option.

I haven't heard of Buttercoin either, but I would suggest checking Circle out.  I have used Coinbase, and Circle is much easier and faster.

They are definitely targeting businesses, and not people.  I guess build it, and the people will follow type mentality?

Finding live sports was always a challenge for me, which is why I pay for cable during the fall / winter months.  They are just calling the game as any normal game, but there is stuff all of the field promoting Bitcoin and bitpay.  There was also a bitpay commercial about how they have made it really easy to use Bitcoin in a business aspect.

this is old news.  Btw, I thought btc-e is based in Bulgaria, not Russia.

Cyprus now, I think.

Cool.  I just wasn't sure to be honest.

The only part that I would be sad about would be the potential shutdown of btc-e.  That seems to be the easiest exchange to work with, and it would be a bummer to see it shut down because of a law like this getting implemented.
